Re: Eurorack and SuperCollider

Ive done a reasonable amount with Supercollider and Eurorack :) ok, to start with you do NOT need closure or overtone to use Supercollider - its very much optional, and not one I bother with, I much prefer using sclang directly which is part of supercollier install - and is where Id recommend you be...

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae v2

Also, a little known fact: you can adjust the input level of Nebulae's audio input. It defaults to unity gain, but it can be adjusted up or down, I just don't remember off-hand how to do it (it's something to do with the Speed knob I think, potentially while holding Source, but I actually don't rem...

Re: Percussa SSP: wavetable, granular, sampling, fx processor...

That’s really neat didn’t realise you could do that, is it just a case of plugging the usb cable into the SSP and your phone and recording video? Pretty much, I use the Apple Camera Connection Kit (CCK) , which also means phone can be charged at same time. I’ve got a couple of other vsts ‘in the wo...

Re: Have you ever regretted menus on everything?

I love screens, menus and encoders :) I don't think a module is necessarily harmed or hindered by these components, or lack of them. for me its not 'knob per function' that's important, rather quick/easy access to the controls, and cv control over what i need, and a certain 'ease of use' these are i...

Re: Pittsburgh Modular Structure EP-420 "Review"

anyone replaced (or looked at) the busboards in the EP-420 or EP-360 (which I have) ? Id like to replace ONE of them with a Genus Mod LIBB http://www.genusmodu.com/products/libb.html the pittsburgh busboards appear to be connective via a kind of 'distribution' pcb, rather than wires to PSU, via a he...

Re: What to pair with Percussa SSP?

Depending on your requirements, there are also a few areas where the SSP's internal modules provide the basics where you may need more again, i totally agree with @titaanzink there are lots of internal modules, and the list is growing - but eurorack offers so many different modules - nothing can ev...

Re: What to pair with Percussa SSP?

also, i was thinking to pair mine with a Expert Sleepers ES-9 , to make use of all 24 in/outs of the SSP through class compliant USB I'm not quite sure what you have planned for this....I doubt the ES9 will do what you expect. the SSP is a currently a USB class compliant audio **device** (not audio...

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae v2

if we look at the Neb product description .... Nebulae lives a double life as an open source DSP platform with an extensive library of off the shelf alternate instruments. You can turn the module into a lush reverb, spectral delay, or tape-style looper simply by loading a new file onto the flash dri...

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae v2

I think QuBit released the Nebulae as a Granular Module (which I think is really nice) but that they made open source so those interested could extend it if they choose . I think the copy you mentioned, was probably to that granular mode - since it can act as many of these things (not so much the re...

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae v2 - alternative software

the difference @dare is that the loop size is fixed.... this often makes sense if you want a fixed time slice , particularly when you are changing/automating the start position. its also useful if you have prepared samples, which are slices of the same length - then modulating start can give you dif...

then I hit 4 notes on the sub 37 and it kinda works but a couple of vco's don't play in tune sometimes. It is kinda hit and miss, maybe im going about it in the wrong way? so the gate are correct, but you think the cv (v/oct) is not correct on some track outputs? is it just a little out of tune? pe...

Re: Percussa SSP: wavetable, granular, sampling, fx processor...

Just got my SSP a couple of days ago , and really happy ... its fantastic module. I've lots of plans for it, both musically and also on the tech front :) first 'tech' challenge, I've ported Mutable Instrument Rings - and it sounds excellent on the SSP . Ive put a pre-release on the Percussa forum......

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae V2 USB not working

Iirc ( which i might not ;)) there is a short cable that runs from rPI to nebulae’s controller board - that cable is quite vulnerable to getting dislodged - I seems to remember having to push it back in couple of times. That said, I may be confusing this with the Bela Salt or Terminal Tedium, as I’v...

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae v2

Because alsa does not automatically connect midi controllers to processes - id need to check, but I believe I set it up to work with what will work with some/many controllers - others will need a bit of customization. On my YouTube channel I’ve a video about ‘advanced midi’ on organelle this covers...

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae v2

mrpeach is installed but PD cant load the library for some reason. routeOSC.dll, unpackOSC.dll, etc wont load even though they're in the externals folder. as far as your description goes, it sounds like orac/mec is running perfectly ok on the Nebulae. the issue, is rather your PC setup... routeOSC/...

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae v2

Yeah the ‘issue’ with nebulae is that if csound ( or the python layer) crashes it will just keep restarting it. It’s a pity as it’s not really a ‘serious issue’ , it’s just it doesn’t have a good fallback behavior for ‘errant’ instruments. What you can do if you have WiFi working is remove file whic...

At which step is it failing?
Eg
do you hear the demo patch from nebulae when you start orac?

Are you able to connect the web browser to Nebulae?

Re: Qu-Bit Nebulae v2

actually, I noticed whilst looking thru the code, that the manual is incorrect here :) pressing source + speed will change the ADC input level in any patch. it defaults to '73%' , which is 0db, and goes up to +12db (100%) note: there are only 32 steps, so don't expect fine level controls its stepped...

Re: Squarp Instruments Hermod Modular Brain

yeah... its quite an interesting take... the thing is that the hermod is more complex than a 'normal' sequencer, because it allows you to have events at different levels of granularity, so going forward 1 step , immediately begs the question ... how big is a step? then if you have sub steps.... how ...

Re: Squarp Instruments Hermod Modular Brain

works a treat here, only thing 'confused me' at first was NOT pressing play - but that makes sense. (also as documented, you cannot use with an external clock, which is a bit of a shame, id have quite like to use a midi clock just for tempo) whats also fun, is playing with clock in div... if you set...

Re: Squarp Instruments Hermod Modular Brain

works fine for me here.... Ive used with Marbles, so advance in a non-regular pattern :)

simply set clock to internal, set clock transport to A:trig, do NOT press play (!) then set clock in div to 'taste'

then i sent marbles : T1 to hermod:CV A - viola, irregular patterns.
