Re: Buchla 252e - Thoughts and general use ?

The 252e is an amazing module. There are a couple of things I wish were different, but it is simply fantastic and I really love mine. This module can produce a lot of CV and pulses. It can take time to program, similar to the 251e, but I really enjoy interacting with it. You really want a preset ma...

Re: Buchla System purchase 2020?

Hello Buchla World! Apologies way in advance for asking these questions but I’m new to this world and want to make an informed decision before buying! So been thinking about this long and hard and I believe that 2020 is the year that I’d like to acquire a Buchla system but I have some questions... ...

Re: Buchla 12 System ideas . . . advice

Hi, I gotta admit that I’m not familiar with the 251e or the 223e, but the only thing I find missing in your wonderful system is preset storage. Personally I would switch the 207e for a 206e, or replace the 207e and 267e with a 227e (quad output, env follower and eq!) but losing the filter might hu...

Because you shouldn't need a computer to play a musical instrument? Right. I get the "everything onboard" approach. But, if you are already zapping MIDI from off-board into the instrument, why force that user to consume 1U of real estate, and incur considerable expense, to have the Preset Manager o...

.... I'm going to jump in here with a question that nags at me. I think it may have been asked and answered, but I don't remember where. Why is it necessary for the Preset Manager to be onboard hardware? What if anything prevents this function from being performed using outboard software? This aspec...

So in the USA where people spend year behind bars for small amounts of weed, a substance that powerful and potent is found on an instrument hiding in plain sight , everyone is cool with it and talk about a fun story ony ? Not that DEA is all over the thing, or would release it to the public again ?...

Check with Studio H / Dougcl to get some cool news. OK, I'll just say it -- he's working on a replacement 210e with an analog front-end, and preset support. The demos on Instagram have been pretty dang cool. I bought a used 210e not too long ago, but I'll have to give Doug's alternative a serious c...

It's either a Juno 60 or Juno 106, recorded with natural ambience at the old Record Plant in midtown Manhattan. Sorry to disappoint:) Natural ambience? Suspicious Cyndi Lauper - Buchla

This tune at 1:33 sounds highly suspicious:

If so, this has to be the most prominent use of a Buchla in pop music (that I know of)

Some thoughts on the sound of the Buchla, the only one I know firsthand. + The Buchla sound is about small subtle changes in the harmonic composition of the sound, and the oscillators are designed to provide a wide spectrum within which the subtle or not so subtle harmonic changes can be readily...
