Re: 1010music modular - cautionary tale

Unfortunately Aaron and 1010 Music seem to have adopted the Elektron business model. Release stuff that's not yet ready to be released, promise future updates, fulfill a couple of those promises, and release new stuff again. I bought and sold the Bitbox two times. I'm not buying from 1010 again.

Re: [RESOLVED] You can order safely from Modular 8

Just to reply to the posters accusing me of having acted prematuredly with the thread title and content, I created a thread here on Muff Wiggler on the 27th of July (11 days after I had ordered). The title was "Is Modular 8 still open?". Nobody replied in that one. I wish this thread could be delete...

Re: Don't order from Modular 8

also worth mentioning that this could just be sitting in customs. it hasn't been that long for an international shipment even on the same continent. the situation w/USPS tracking system can be a bit weird sometimes where it doesn't update until after the package is delivered. I've had it say "a shi...

Re: Don't order from Modular 8

I ordered a Dual Borg from them on the 16th of July. According to the USPS website a Pre-shipment label was created on the 17th. When I noticed that USPS was still waiting for the package on the 21st of July I tried contacting Modular 8. I left two messages on the phone and many emails. I never rec...

Is Modular 8 still open?

I ordered a module from them on July 16th. According to the USPS website a shipping label was created on the 17th. As of today, 27th of July, the status of the order is still Pre-shipment (USPS awaiting item). I left a message on the phone last week and 2 emails and never received a reply. Anybody k...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

Looks like we got ourselves some readers. I'll repeat it again: if you transfer files from the computer the Bitbox works perfectly and as intended. When you RECORD DIRECTLY in the module itself is when you'll get clicks and pops at the loop points. The BitBox touch screen makes it super easy to zoo...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

Just curious if people are getting better results from recording samples directly in to the BB or transfer via micro SD? If you like unwanted clicks and pops you'll enjoy recording directly in the unit itself. Are people generally not able to import samples from the SD card? Seems like that would b...

Re: Fixed Filter Banks - Long-term use, same-y results?

Ah ok thanks, makes sense. So the only one that's stereo under 42hp is the Random Source Resonant eq. R*S ResEq is not stereo. It mixes the two inputs to mono, and the two upper outputs are identical. The extra ins/outs are for Serge-style patch programming / distributed mixing. I use all the jacks...

Re: Fixed Filter Banks - Long-term use, same-y results?

I don't really understand the two inputs on the Bark filter (Odds in/Evens in). Is it stereo? routing sound to one input: manipulate both even and odd harmonics. even and odd harmonics are normalized. routing one sound source into even, another into odd: first sound is routed through even harmonics...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

- clicks and pops is user error - Well, have you suggested it to them? If not then you have missed an opportunity to get it implemented. Annoying and not helpful at all. If you're not giving me all the information (e.g that you know it's your own fault that you get clicks and pops) then how would i...

If you work for 1010 Music, your annoying attitude ain't helping no one. If you don't work for them, acting as their representative and moderating this thread is fucking weird. How am i "moderating the thread" lol i'm just helping people out posting updates whenever i see them, if you're not on the...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

Feel better now? Not really, just pointing out that it's not a problem with the unit itself. I do wish that the built-in hit detection was better though, but even in Cubase this stuff requires manual editing so meh, probably wouldn't save me a lot of time. Editing it on the bitbox is otherwise quit...

Has anybody tried the new cross-fade looping options? Does it work well? I had the Bitbox in the past but I had to get rid of it because of all the clicks and pops. clicks and pops is user error. I think what he means is that if your samples are not clipping, and you have the start and stop points ...

One thing the Morphagene has over the Nebulae is volume control. That's the only thing I would change on the Nebulae as it can be annoying sometimes.
