Re: 'Logic/Utility Box' for semi modulars

A couple of options to add to the list: The discontinued Roland Aria FX boxes have a ton of functionality under the hood if you connect them with a PC or tablet. Empress Effects Zoia announced a Eurorack version of thier pedal with more patch points. Waiting on this one to pair with semi-modulars my...

Re: Zoia is now modular Euroburo

I only watched a couple of videos and saw no mention of the audio levels it expects nor the levels it outputs at. That being said, looking at the module list on the Zoia website, it looks like it will handle both modular and line levels, depending on how you setup the inputs. If this is the case, th...

My crystal ball foresees there are a commercial 9U rack forthcoming where this device can be mounted on a hing plate function as partial front cover for easy transportation and setup. Maybe another one that are 6U + 1 U and deep enough to host a mutitimbral rack synth :75: Looking at the pictures o...

I am able to fit normal USB cables into the back of the Aria FX modules I have racked in a case. Not familar with the Frap Tools case, but they do make right-angle USB cables that should fit in the space allowed for most single-row cases.

Sounds pretty good from DivKid's demo of it. I own V1 and it functions and sounds different enough that they could have called this a different name. V1 is very characterful and goes into feedback territory easily. V1 is also is much more geared towards individual control of the bands and there are ...

We do seem to have this thread once a month at minimum. There are lots of small mixers and none of them are near perfect. there is a thread about this ... probably several. Just to add to the list, I am currently using a Zoom H6 field recorder as a mixer. You can change out the mic capsule to someth...

Any tips on using a quantizer with something like Permutation? Often I will patch the output of Permutation to Harmoniag and it gets indecisive in which note to quantize to, so it rapidly trills between two adjacent notes. It seems I always have to use attenuators to dial things back so the quantize...

@ miles_macquarrie I am excited with this announcement. I just don't have too much to share other than that excitement. I made a similar jump in selling off some Boutiques to get a System 8 and happy with that decision. The Jupiter X seems to be a big step up from the System 8. I don't think I'll be...

I was about to pull the trigger on a Zoom L12, but the Zoom H6 is definitely more what I am looking for. Also, "chain" is mention in the description of the new VCA. Is this the MIX OUT kind or the 3-pin kind? I think it was one of the big shows in 2018 where he talked about those VCAs and thier linking capability. You just use a patch cable to link them together, it's just a normal jack behind the pan...

Multi-track recording a band: Laptop vs something else?

Recently I have been playing in a synth based band. There are three of us, all with a synth each. The other two members are also singers and I typically use a drum machine and add in another synth when I can, between that and making adjustments on the mixer. Is there a good solution to multi-track r...

The FU in CFU above could possibly be some other character, it is really hard to read due to the ribs of the ribbon.

I can grab a picture next time I am near it. Weird that Roland told you they do not keep it in their system. Perhaps they thought you meant normal Eurorack power ribbon cables? The adapters for their Aria modules and the System 1m are a bit rarer it seems. Unfortunately I am using all of mine.
