Joranalogue Filter 8 tracks v/oct beautifully across 8 octaves.
I love Morgasmatron as a complex osc but only for percussion where tuning accuracy isn't so important.

Re: How to integrate a junk yard of synth into a Eurorack?
Have a look at the Vector sequencer form Five12. It has 8 channels of midi or CV. Could be tie everything together nicely.

Re: Modules that respect trigger velocity
I think it's standard behaviour on a drum track right? The higher bar the stronger the trigger. Hey I just double checked my Vector and the manual and no the triggers aren't dynamic. You have to use them in conjunction with a separate velocity CV (or drive a midi device that accepts velocity) You c...

Re: Polyphony/legato sense check (and hello)
Playing a Dave Smith Linnstrument gives me the experience I think OP is seeking. Each of your fingers is a monophonic voice capable of portamento, vibrato and aftertouch. You can play chords and slide individual notes around, it really feels like you're an orchestra or choir. I know its a very diffe...

Re: Hocketing in Eurorack
I do hocketing a lot with a delay. If you have a sequence of notes that are steady 1/8th notes, and set the delay time to be a dotted 1/8 (and no feedback) the delays will fill in the gaps between the original notes, or overlap them depending on how staccato your envelope is. If you want this to be ...

Hey all great work everyone. I'm building a hexmix vca and wondering if it's possible to mod the VCAs to open fully at 5v volts instead of 10.

Re: Strings and saw waves
I disagree with the folks saying reverb is a cheap trick. I think of it as an essential building block of synthesis. I've had surprisingly good results in Ableton, using an extremely simple saw patch (no filtering) and going into the stock reverb plugin. Turn the reverb full wet and then turn down t...

Re: Eurorack Drum Machine
I think if you want standard sounds like 808 or 909 then just buy a machine that does that. If you want to design your own percussive sounds and get creative with modulation then go modular. I have my 606 next to my modular for bread and butter beats, then layer it with sounds from the modular to be...

Re: Rich, expansive sounding synth
Get the lushest reverb you can afford. That'll make any synth sound lush and expansive. Add a little bit of slow random LFO to pitch. Here's a great example with the humble TX81Z and strymon big sky.

Re: Best way to enhance my electronic drums
Was messing around with a DS-1 and TR-606 yesterday and I really like what it does. Makes the drums a lot more sustained sounding and the snare really smacks instead of being this little blip. Only thing is it loses a lot of the bass so I'm gonna mess around with parallel processing today to see if ...

Re: Sample Select and V/Oct
This is why I don't think CV is a good way of interacting with samples. It's done much better with midi. I do have a couple of Radio Music modules and I sequence them with an SQ-1 or Vector Sequencer, but I put at most 5 samples per bank (basically 1 per octave of a 5v CV) otherwise you'll never fin...

Re: Mounting a spring reverb tank properly? (No sympathetic vibrations)
Thanks everybody. I just got it working a lot better. First off I placed it upside down with the open side up (the springs were banging on the desk before). Then I put a piece of cardboard to cover the open pan held on with rubber bands. Then I wrapped the whole tank in a piece of leather held on wi...

I run my 606 into my mackie mixer with a bit of clipping/saturation from the gain knob and the bass and mids turned way up. Sounds much much better that way.

Mounting a spring reverb tank properly? (No sympathetic vibrations)
Hi wigglers, I need help figuring out how to mount my spring tank. Right now when I play my speakers loud it shakes the springs and creates a nasty noise. Basically my reverb is only usable when I'm using headphones. I'm thinking maybe it's because it's on the same desk as my speakers. It's a vintag...

Re: Modular Synths and Jazz?
Nice one. How do you get it to harmonize? Is there another midi input besides the ewi? How do you handle tuning the oscillators to each other and the band? There's nothing in between the EWI and Yarns. I'm using Yarns in 4 x Monophonic mode, with 4 channels of CV from the same monophonic midi input...

Re: Modular Synths and Jazz?
I play Jazz with modular synths. I'm an EWI player that wanted a great sounding analog sound module, that led me down the road of building a modular. Here's a video I did using Mutable Yarns to do a 4 part harmonization of my EWI with analog oscs. This is using the modular as a live played voice in ...
