Re: Expert Sleepers FH-2 'factotum'

Try enabling midi logging on the device. Does it receive Midi at all? Will check out usb once I get home. Didn't have time to play last night as I got in late. Better luck tonight. Got the whole thing working (sort of). Using USB direct out of the Circuit works ok but the drum channel trigger/gate ...

Thanks Phitar :) OK, here are the patch notes (making a vid didn't turn out well). To hell with the vid.... GREAT patch notes! Thanks! I may not have practically any of the gear you used but I'm sure to try to apply your notes to what I got! Gotta love modular... So many ways to get the same result...

Re: Expert Sleepers FH-2 'factotum'

Try enabling midi logging on the device. Does it receive Midi at all? Yeah, I was seeing data from all three channels on the FH2 screen and it looked good coming out of circuit using midiox. Think I might have something else going on. All my attempts so far where using the DIN input. Will check out...

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX

The supplied ribbon cable has two rows of four contacts – use the same row of four at each end. That's a key point and and easy to make a mistake there. If you don't make sure you connect the SAME row of four on each end of the cable you've essentially not connected anything. Been there and done th...

Re: Expert Sleepers FH-2 'factotum'

Regarding @endwino's screenshot: Base Output needs to be 3 for voice 2 and 5 for the drum channel. You might also have to click "Show FH-2 Output Configurator" and adjust voltage ranges for the individual outputs. Yep. I had tried that also with no luck. Will give it another go when I can get back ...

I'm still figuring out the configurator too, but I think you want something like this:

You know.... That was what I figured too but it only seemed to output 1&2. Betcha I'm doing something stupid somewhere.... Will try again when I get a minute. Thanks!

Re: Expert Sleepers FH-2 'factotum'

Question..... Just installed the FH-2 in my rack and the first thing I've attempted with it is converting midi out from a Novation Circuit. I've tried several configurations so far that seemed like they might work logically but have had no luck so far. Circuit is set up in default midi channel assig...

Here's FH-2 with Linnstrument coming in and Synth Tech E352 receiving. Sine-based with CVs going to wavetable scanning, wave fold and filter cutoff (shaped via a bunch of VCAs)

Damn! That is truly sweet!

Built 3 of these for myself and friends several years back.

Also did a cap touch teensy drum about the same time frame.

Re: Small MIDI/CV Module

I had looked into the 2hp Midi early on when I was first looking for a midi2cv. After reading the manual I passed on it due to the way mode, clocking and midi channels were laid out.

ALM Busy Circuits has a small one now that sounded interesting.

TiP Top Fold Processor and NLC Timbre are nice IMO

Edit: Addam's post popped in about the time I hit submit.... The NLC I mention here is the single version not the dual. Can imagine the T&T version would be twice the fun!

Re: Clipping in eurorack

Not familiar with the VST mentioned. Is it primarily for end of chain distortion of an audio in? Euro has lots of modules that operate on the basis of "clipping" in order to add color or change waveforms at various points in a signal chain. VCA's with more than unity gain, filters such as Intellijel...

have you considered just getting an Analog Four? It’s compatible with Eurorack and may offer more flexibility in the future.
Agree. Trying to recreate everything in Euro would most likely turn into a massive, not very user friendly money pit. Of course that describes Euro in general :bang:

Well you still have options now that you know the bus is the issue.... The place you got it from may have a free repair/replace program for a period after purchase or Intellijel may be willing to help you out. Most sellers or manufacturers do say that they are not responsible in cases that are the u...

Re: Please help me, I used the wrong plug, Intellijel 7u case :(

I would start by checking out your power bus. The Meanwell brick should be ok since it wasn't involved in the accident. Disconnect all your modules and power the case. Should have three LEDs on the bus board for +12, -12, and +5 volts. If you are missing any of those then the issue is probably the b...

Not sure I'm m understanding the "but it has an input." part.

When you say every LED is lighting do you mean on the bus board or on the modules installed in the case?

My small discovery today is that the US mail system is A) very disorganized, and B) slow, probably due to Covid.
