uvc germicidal lamps and lab equipment, components, etc.

Does anyone know if UVC lights will damage components or lab equipment?
I was thinking about those ati-static bags for semiconductors with the moisture "bake" card.
Are these components sensitive to UVC lights?
Do you have other info about UVC and electronics?

Re: Expert Sleepers ES-9 USB Audio Interface

I bought one on ctrl-mod on 3/24 (10% sale). It was out of stock...I refreshed and it was in stock...buy now. so... its in stock if it says "in stock". when people buy the inventory it goes out of stock again. if a site has an email list for out of stock item then my suggestion is to be on that list...

Re: DIY 4ms SMR

the led's on those sliders can be replaced with other color "square leds" . find them on ebay. I think the actual led dimensions is the same as the ones on the TTSH (info in those threads...people change led color of their sliders on TTSH). You might have to change some led series resistors to match...

@consumer I might have one...let me check. I believe I had to add some things to the gerber. I think I used gerbv to add the outline, but maybe I used a text editor. I made both the YATMA and YATMA2 btw. I believe on YATMA2 I added a silkscreen to the bottom layer (a duplicate of of the top silkscre...

Hey, thanks, yes i saw that but didn't went deep into it, i really don't think like matching vactrols, but i think i'll try Dave's mod, i just want to use it :) Will build boops card12, do card5 Dave mod and hope to end there and concentrate in making music. Hey Daniel! long ago you told me this, i finally feel like opening again the case and fix the Fm Am level difference issue (the am mod issue was indeed a problem of proper calibration). So if i stick a trimmer at r29 i can adjust for the proper value to match fm-balanced external level? Or should i...

you could do it, but you might be the first person in the world to do it this way. with that said, it is not uncommon to do a graduated strategy to building...so as to make sure the processor is working. You can build the minimal for programming: something like power section and the mcu. Then progra...

I don't think the value is critical. When I noticed the oscillations (before Dave had that note on his site) I added a 1000pF cap in that position. For some reason Don Buchla often used 910pF in locations where 1000pF works fine. I can only assume he must have bought an enormous lot of them very ch...

been going through the modifications. I didn't see this mentioned on the threads...on card 3, the schematics show C11 910pF. But that's not in the Roman BOM or on the layout (that I can see). Seems to be the same position as davebr 100pF "oscillations in the EG output" mod. (across R17) 910pF seems ...

is there a replacement for the LM301? Mouser has a soic-8 version. I was thinking of that plus an adapter...or is that not a good idea? https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/863-LM301ADR2G is the yatma good enough for transistor matching? I think it can do complementary pairs as well https://www.muff...

I believe the extra set of footprints on the pcb is for the original-style sliders used on the 1970s Easels. They were far inferior to the Alps; since this is the user's main interface to the instrument I feel like nice smooth sliders are worth the money. Not to mention how much of a pain it would ...

is there another option/source for the sliders other than Farnell? I don't want to "go cheap" but at the same time trying to not spend more than I have to. especially for the US because freight charge is $20. I heard the board might have another footprint for the sliders for example, where I annotat...

Re: Order

Any other tips? I've heard during debug with continuity check...some people fry the MCU with a voltmeter - something like the continuity check from the multimeter output too high a voltage...like 3.3v vs 5v? PS: I have smr_rear27.jpg as my desktop background, using some of that Sun Tzu wisdom. Yeah...

as far as positioning resistors...I find a stereo microscope gives more precision when fiddling with SMD. Also, really appreciate SMD resistor code and other SMD component markings more with the microscope as opposed to without. I had a batch of Bourns and a batch of Panasonic SMD resistors - the Bo...

I found these "marketing holders lock boxes" (clear acrylic) on amazon, but not sure of the suitability for a synth case. Probably more expensive than buying raw stock:

I replaced my trusty old Weller TCP a couple of years ago with an FX-888d. It's fine for work that doesn't require a lot of heating, but it's crap at supplying enough heat when i'm soldering something that sinks heat - eg a 0V connection that has minimal thermal relief. The dot on the LED display t...
