Best result I have had, by far is just pink noise through a basic LPF, then through a basic cheap overdrive (doesn't take much, don't overdo it), then some reverb. Roll off the high end on the reverb output. Works great!

Re: [FH-2] Send Euclidean patterns to MIDI out

I would also really love this, without doing X/Y => CV/MIDI (because I like to use that for other applications), but I feel a bit like this might be outside the scope of the module! that's like a pure MIDI => MIDI processing task. but who knows :)

Re: Intellijel Quadrax

I've had a little trouble wrapping my head around level modulation since there's no manual section and I have no scope. So the envelope/lfo outputs at 10v or +/-5v, and by putting in an -5v offset, I attenuate it to 0v? For some reason I initially thought that assigning level turned the envelope ou...

Re: HERTZ DONUT MARK III - shipping now!

I've been kind of holding off on considering HDmk3 until some of the "bugs" get fixed. However, I'm seeing more videos appear that show off the range of textures this thing can spit out. I'd probably have to give up my Loquelic Iteritas though to make room, so I want to be sure it can reach those s...

Re: What's your favourite LFO that can be very tightly synced to external clock?

On this subject, i'm thinking about selling my QPLFO and getting a batumi or a tides mk2. Can tides mk2 do clocked LFO's well? Like if i clock channel 1 can i get decent subdivisions from the 1st one? I just find i don't use my QPLFO that much i find it's shapes a little limited without having to r...

Re: What's your favourite LFO that can be very tightly synced to external clock?

Tides and Batumi are pretty good at this but I think you’ll need something else (or additional) to get dots and triplets. Tides can do some dotted and triplet times when you patch a clock into it. its multipliers are: - 1/16 - 1/8 - 1/6 - 1/4 - 1/3 - 1/2 - 2/3 - 3/4 - 4/5 - 1/1 - 5/4 - 4/3 - 3/2 - ...

Re: 84HP for FX

filling a rack with the fun effect modules that grab your interest is the easy part. personally, with an 84hp constraint, I'd go for Morphagene, Mimeophon, FX Aid, and probably Desmodus Versio (though I don't own that one yet). other useful things for a small FX-focused case: preamps for getting lin...

Re: Trim Pot Toppers

The diameter helps a little, the grippier surface gives them a big advantage over the Micro T18 in terms of usability... but nothing beats the Micro T18 for cramped modules. that's good to hear. what I can't stand about T18 Micros is how little torque it feels they have. of all the knobs and tall t...

Re: The modules that should exist (but don't)

I want a Quantussy Cell module. It's basically an LFO combined with two sample and holds. https://pugix.com/synth/eurorack-quantussy-cells/ Like a Generic Quantussy Cell, but with the LFO FM connection being external. The specifications: VC LFO with manually variable shape (saw to triangle to ramp)...

Re: Modulateable LFO - which do you recommend?

MI Tides (the newer version released in 2018) and IME Kermit MkIII produce my favorite LFOs in Eurorack. Tides's shapes can be warped in every imaginable way, it has attenuverters on all its CV inputs, and it has a few different ways of doing "quad" output (different amplitudes, different phases, an...

the tank you're using also makes a big difference, so you might want to try a different one that's compatible with your spring driver module.

this was a good tip ! 5PS fits perfectly and Varispeed feels noticeably less touchy now

Re: Utility VCOs for FM, Sync, Ring Modulation, etc.

I like an A-111-3 for its hard sync and PWM - pairs nicely with my Piston Honda. other than that, I use a Tides for modulating other oscillators' phase or frequency, because it can do quantized frequency ratios and its own waveshaping sounds insane in FM/PM patches. the rest of my oscillators are 'p...

Re: how to delay voltages ?

some delays have direct-coupled input stages and so will work on CV just as well as they do on audio. Disting is one example: the mk3, mk4, and EX (and maybe earlier versions than mk3, too) all have algorithms capable of delaying LFOs, envelopes, etc.

this is basically what Natural Gate is doing under the hood. Some statement! Now show your working!! ;) did I strike a nerve with a NG convert? :foul: ;) I'll just quote the manufacturer: It can! It is -12dB/oct slope with zero resonance (resonance on LPG doesn't sound natural to us) with some mino...

Re: Thoughts on Euro LPGs, please?

I haven't noticed the memory effect in any of the vactrol-based LPGs I've used. if it's there, it's really subtle. the only LPG that I know of that exhibits this in a really pronounced way is Natural Gate.

another vote for the Takaab 2LPG. I've had an Optomix, RYO Aperture, and a couple LxDs, and now I only have a couple of Takaabs that happen to fit perfectly in my Lunchbox between its rails and the sides of the case (zerohp :tu: ). the module sounds great IMO. it and Aperture were my favorites, but...

I'm trying to decide between a DPLPG and Takaab 2LPG. Does anyone know at what voltage they begin to open? Once open, can they track an EG or LFO somewhat accurately? How easy is it to darken the sound by attenuating the incoming gates? I mentioned earlier in this thread that 2LPG requires 1V to be...

Re: Trim Pot Toppers

can anyone using these tall trimmer toppers report on the sturdiness and torque compared to, say, an alpha pot with 10-12mm diameter knob? I'd guess that they still feel just as wobbly as a bare tall trimmer, but that you get slightly more precision over the pot's turn with these?
