Re: 4ms Spherical Wavetable Navigator SWN

Working on getting some basic analog waveforms into my SWN. Just shoving stuff into the input in an unscientific manner. But I can already say, that I am 100 miles closer to making it sound analog-ish, than using the factory spheres. It really puzzles me, that it does not come with a sphere that ON...

Igor ... Any idea when a second (third ?) batch will be available in EU ?
no stress , I know the situation is complicated. EU post services seems to back to normal but I guess the problem is more about chinese parts ?

I don’t think it’s a Pressure Pints successor, as Make Noise would have probably discontinued PP1 and Brains a few months before releasing a new version
they didn't do it for René mK2 or Morphagene.

Re: FX AID - multi audio effect module

Can't get my hands on it since more than 2 months. Wish I will be able to grab one before my next performance. But since I'm waiting, reading this tread weekly ... I guess I will order 2 directly I wanted it to have a great and compact end of chain reverb (like the blackhole / big sky preset) but th...

Re: Why do I need an envelope follower?

I don't use my enveloppe follower with external audio ... It's easy to get some complex patch in which a lot of LFO, sequencers are involved. This complex voice / pattern is what I like to send into an enveloppe follower / gate extractor to add to modulate another voice or to create crazy CV ... it'...

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.

I have more problems with people cloning MI modules as a business model (not the small DIY clones, but the ones who're making hundreds of copies ...) rather Behringer cloning ultra expansive stuff as un unaffordable Moog stuffs (who can spend 35000$ on a system ?) or old Roland design ... I would be...

Re: Mutable Conversions to DIY Friendly PCBs

Op amps are an ideal, with a few gotchas. What I mean by "ideal" is that a lot of op amp circuits work reasonably well for any op amp, because they're designed using idealised characteristics of an op amp - like zero output impedance, infinite input impedance, and generally behaving like an op amp....

Re: Mutable Conversions to DIY Friendly PCBs

I can't imagine the challenge to convert some digital beast Emilie made into through hole diy friendly modules ... :sb: the more I look at her analog schematics, the more I'm sad I can try and learn by plating with them on my breadboard when there's no direct SMD > TH op-amp easy replacement ... I'm...

Re: Mutable Conversions to DIY Friendly PCBs

Adding more knobs to Ears seems like a good idea. On the schematic I found, which is ears_v40.pdf, there's an OPA1641, for the audio amp, and a couple of LM324 for the envelope bit... You can definitely get LM324 in DIP form, and it looks like you can get the posher one that way too. If I built one...

Re: Mutable Conversions to DIY Friendly PCBs

Yep when I DIY stuffs I'm more doing stuff without the size restrictions of Eurorack ... using perfboard, attaching jack and let on the panel rather than on PCB ... it's not about money, but for the pleasure to build things and trying to understand how it works ... and most of the time I don't want ...

Hi, I took the last few days to re-read all the preamp thread on Muff, lots of op-amp theory stuffs, forum , schematic ... So trashed my first layout and re-start from fresh. I end up with a schematic which was looking like a Mikrophonie (I found the schematic in the a topic about input protection w...

Re: D.I.Y Preamp (Guitar / Line > Eurorack)

I don't want to discourage anyone from learning to do the calculations - but I go here to work out filters... http://sim.okawa-denshi.jp/en/Fkeisan.htm ...and if you plug your values into the high-pass RC filter you will find you might want to make C6 a little smaller. A thing that's easy to miss w...

Re: D.I.Y Preamp (Guitar / Line > Eurorack)

Yes, a high pass filter in the input is useful to limit rumble and hum noise. The 1M input impedance is standard for ordinary passive guitar and bass with magnetic pickups (and will just about suit a piezo contact mic too, although higher still is better for those). For the high pass filter, a 1M r...
