Re: Node Live Blu-Ray now available

I got this for my birthday a couple of months ago. I finally watched it tonight. Oh man, it's wonderful, those guys are masters.

Definitely give you the GAS.

Re: Pony-Tails and Moog (MU/5U) modulars

Not a planned thing, it just happened. I'm retired and don't have a "corporate image" to maintain, and I started building my 5U system five years ago. Both the ponytail and the 5U system amuse the heck out of me.

I only have five filters, so I’ll list them all! Synthesizers.com Q107 and Q150. I did the hard/soft mod to the Q107. I mod’d the Q150 to include the leveling option for either dotcom or Moog resonance response. I also added a feedback switch to get some extra oomph on the Q150. Yusynth Minimoog fil...

I always liked the Churchill story about him being at a state dinner and the wife of some dignitary says to him, “Sir, if you were my husband, I’d feed you poison.” To which Churchill replied, “Madam, if you were my wife, I’d take it!”

Well, I’d guess that you had a unit somebody bricked via an unsuccessful upgrade attempt. I know I always hold my breath when I upgrade mine. I spent thirty years working in various tech industries and I got bit plenty of times performing an upgrade that was supposed to be “easy peasy.” Actually, I ...

The thread over on the Moog forum is from early 2013. I don’t recall having the problem of no control over individual oscillator volume, but in that thread several people chime in as having it and other issues. It appears that Moog support was working with the guy during that period. I got my Minita...

I haven't experienced this problem, this thread at the Moog forum might help.

Updating the firmware in the Minitaur would be a good idea.

Good luck! :tu:

I’d like to throw in some kudos for Dr. S-n-E as well. I bought a populated ASR pcb from him a couple of months ago and have found it to be an absolute blast! Communications were excellent and shipping was fast.

Thanks again, Doc! :yay:

I use a Korg SQ-1 with my dotcom system all the time. For me, it is a great low-cost cv-to-midi converter driving my antique Alesis SR-16 drum machine.

Not really a build, or system configuration reply, I'm amused by the thread above in which kcd06 mentions getting the second SSL FX-Capacitor. If you notice the serial number, it's 10, which of course is 2 in binary. :hihi:
I guess I'm easily amused! Nice module, by the way. :yay:

This started as a relatively simple shepard's tone patch by Stephen Mendes using some basic synthesizer.com modules. Sounds good! I then extrapolated the patch out to a completely ridiculous conclusion in part, to try out PatchBook. It is pretty cool. Heres the code: https://www.muffwiggler.com/foru...

@Synth Con Meo: Yep, the pots and jacks are a bit of a grind, but just take your time, listen to some good music and you'll get them done. @ba1: Thanks! This has actually been a summer's worth of weekends - and a few weekdays, too. I built a YuSynth Clock Divider back in May, then followed that with a YuSynth Fixed Filter Bank in July, and I just finished building a SynthroTek Voice of Saturn sequencer. They all work! May's project: https://...

@Sleipnir, I say go for it, PJs are the way to play. A single P pickup always sounds a little empty to me. Put a J back by the bridge, and bam! There's some life in the thing. I have plenty of bass hero's that play a basic P, I just can't make myself happy with that configuration! @Sinamsis, that is...
