I have both the Hermod and the Seq, and I can definitely say it’s a nice combo. I have the Pyramid as well, and all three of them work in a chain. Very intuitive and fun setup.

My favorite thing to do with the beat repeat firmware is to use it in conjunction with the Soundmachines Lightplane. I’m using the gate out to initiate the freeze function, Y out for size, and X out for texture. If I’m feeling crazy, I’ll run the Z to the density, or maybe the cutoff of the filter p...

Interesting. So you basically use the Pyramid as a midi looper + midi effect? Kind of, yes. But I write a series of patterns and then chain them together to form full tracks. Once all midi data is in (aside from the midi notes from the Seq), there aren’t anymore issues. It’s a very good combo for s...

I have a Polyend Seq and a Squarp Pyramid and I very much like the combo. I use one of those Orange Squeeze midi merge devices to allow up to four midi inputs to be merged into the single midi in of the Squarp. I currently have the Seq, Keystep, Moon Modular 552, and IPad going midi into the Squarp ...

Audio over USB, or analog out?

Which do you use and why? I know not all synths have audio over USB, but for the synth that do.

The Bose speakers are just fine for working with the frequency spectrum of a modular. I’ve been using them already for some back yard jams. They can be found on craigs list or offer up for anywhere between $30 and $70. I got the Nady mixer because I wanted a mixer that can fit in the same bag as eve...

Rockpals 300w Portable Power For Eurorack

I recently got one of these Rockpals 300w Portable Power Station from amazon and so far it’s been working great. It’s exactly what I wanted for bringing my euro to some outdoor locations. It’s light weight (about 7 lbs), and has an assortment of power output types. I ran two 9u 104hp systems for abo...

I have more Euro than 5u, but I like 5u so much better than euro. Larger knobs and more space on the panel makes it easier to work with for sure. Also, to me, the modules I have seem to be better build quality than most of my euro.

BoredBrain is dope. Both Adam and Jason are great guys, and I hope this thread does not negatively reflect on their business. I can say that their product is of great quality, and service is awesome. I do hope this gets resolved. Is 4/5 stars really something to be mad about? You’re willing to attem...

Boredbrain is awesome. I’m very much a fan of their work. Seems strange for them to have sent something with improper packing. I know them personally and can vouch that they do care for the gear. This may have just been a slip up

I don’t think overrated is the right word. I would just say it’s not your cup of tea. I’m my opinion, when you are creating music, I see each type of instrument as a particular color. While you may not use every color in the spectrum at any particular given time, they all have an application in some...

Came across a crazy deal a few months ago. Someone sold me a DP4 AND a DP4+ for $75. I was really stoked. After using them for a while, I found that I really like the ground that they cover. For the price and flexibility, I think it's a great value. The effects sounds pretty good in my opinion. For ...

Definitely expensive, not gonna argue that. But I don't think it's totally out of reach. With the different payment plan options, it's totally obtainable for a lot of people. I bought an OB6 and a Prophet 6 on payment plans. Would have not been able to get them if that option wasn't available. It j...

I would say the price is fair. Considering what synths cost back in the day, I'd say the price is pretty fair. In a time where there are tons of budget friendly synths, there has to be a top tier to balance it all out.
