Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!

The xaoc is going to be a modern classic, I’m sure of it. It sounds incredibly musical when modulated, even when synced and jumping between clock divisions. It adds such a lot to sounds put though it, very spatial despite being just a mono delay with EQ in the feedback path.

Re: Black Friday deals on eurorack modules?

Signal sounds has been very bad for my wallet as it is this year. He had an Arbhar in when no one else did, then finally got my natural gate from there, then a CSL and a Brenso in one go....and just a couple nights ago I clocked he had a random E352 in stock, which I’ve wanted for ages and not been ...

Re: Novation Summit - keyboard version of Peak

The keybed itself is nothing to write home about to be honest, feels a tad springy to me. Thanks for sharing your experience. I guess it is safer to try it before buying. I have the first version of the Novation Remote (not the SL or SL mk2) and really like the keys. While the key travel is a bit s...

Re: Novation Summit - keyboard version of Peak

This synthesizer looks good for me, both for live use with any kinds of bands, and for film soundtrack composition. Too bad I cannot try it at the moment. Sound and features are fine, but I need to check the keyboard. The keybed itself is nothing to write home about to be honest, feels a tad spring...

Here is a deep exploration of Brenso's shaping and FM. Lovely stuff! The sounds in this have given me some inspiration with my current patch - gonna get my Brenso involved right away. It has such a lovely deep, clean sound. Thanks!!! I'd love to hear what you come up with! Yeah I’ll post what I rus...

Re: Frap Tools Brenso

Here is a deep exploration of Brenso's shaping and FM. One thing really becomes aparent is the vast array of attenuverters that allow precise control over the amount of CV driving each parameter. I didn't use any external utilities on this patch, or attenuate any of the outputs of the modulators. D...

Re: Can we talk about through-zero FM?

Isn’t that what the lock switch is for? Or am I missing your point? He’s using v1 Rubicon, no lock switch. I would say to follow Nav’s points. You want the symmetry control set around 2o’clock. This will give a good amount of TZFM without compromising tracking too much. Make sure the switch is set ...

Re: Trim Pot Toppers

They look great! I just received 60 of them, in a mix of cream, black and dark red. Biggest beneficiary has been the 4ms VCAM.....so much nicer to set levels on the matrix now. I was worried I wouldn’t get the lines all perfectly lined up on every one but it’s easy enough to do and I managed it with...

Re: Intellijel Quad VCA or Behringer 130 Dual VCA (x2)?

Priced nearly the same ($189 for the Intellijel Quad vs. $200 for two Behringer 130s), wouldn't you want the extra features two Behringer units offer for about the same money? (Saving hp-space is not an issue for me here.) Not at all. I wouldn’t want behringer QA standards anywhere near my modular....

Couple of bits of micro house i made over summer with modular creating a lot of the vibe. MPC for kick, clap, hats and Novation Summit for the deep bass lines and pads (modular does the rest including the weirder shifting percussions): http://soundcloud.com/carrousel_uk/twin-a http://soundcloud.com/...

Re: Instruo Cs-L calibration

The lower oscillator on my CS-L tracks slightly flat relative to the upper oscillator. I think there is a degree of non-linearity as another user mentioned above but i still think I can get them to track more closely by adjusting one of the V/Oct trimmers on the back. However, my module came with wh...

Re: Elektrofon KLANG

I was so close to buying two of these modules until I realized that there was no way to select the chord via CV. I think I can speak for many many people by saying that, as soon as you release a firmware update that simply adjust the value of the cord knob from one of the CV inputs, this model will...

Re: Does Rubicon 2 have its own thread? I can’t see it....

Hello! You always want to DC block audio. If there is DC present when the signal gets to the speaker, it will push the driver more in one direction and you will get more distortion/less amplitude overall. Thanks, Sean, I appreciate the information. I’m currently using a Shakmat Hipass with my final...

Re: Does Rubicon 2 have its own thread? I can’t see it....

Hey man, I didn’t try any other modulators actually, I just threw money at the problem and bought a shakmat hipass  works a treat now though. I assume if you can perfectly remove the DC bias then it will work ok but I think even a tiny amount of remaining offset will massively affect the tuning...

Re: Xaoc Devices Sarajewo: Syncable Analog Delay Line SHIPPING NOW!

This is such a bloody lovely module, never used a delay like it, so natural and lush sounding. It does most of the work in this piece- sound source through it is a Brenso, then the mix output patched into one input of a stereo chorus, with T2 patched into the other side, then T3 taken into an Instru...

Re: Steady State Fate Vortices - Mono + Stereo Mixer w/ Tape Sim

The four bottom jacks are the inputs to the mono mixer. It’s labelled a bit confusingly due to the large gap between the words mono and mixer. Looks like channels 1 & 4 can be panned in the stereo field and you can cross fade between inputs 2 & 3. This looks like a lot of clever functionality in a s...

Re: Utility modules that make you happy?

From a personal standpoint, I'll add that I actually recently bought a Doepfer A-151 and I like it, but I wouldn't say it makes me happy in and of itself the same way Pam's WO does. With Pam's WO, I dial in and shape up synced/unsynced LFOs, S&H, etc. into any patch and it kind of comes alive, givi...
