but i don't think its that simple..:) well, the question is where to press it i'm running a small tape label and could imagine bring a small edition of tapes with that next year, if you're interested. there's not much money in it, though, as revenue of one batch usually is consumed by production co...

Yarns would be slightly cheaper but the Vermona has two CV outs per channel, in addition to the 1V/oct outs  yarns would be my choice too - and is ;-) it comes with sequencing and arpeggiator features you'd barely use when paired it with the extensive features of an octatrack. or maybe you wo...

update on this:
nothing bought yet. but i got to know that overstayer actually has a distributor in europe, so it'd be easy to order an ID4. however, the price in europe is way out of my range :-/

The bass is a simple sinewave, mixed with the attack portion of a bass guitar sample, for a little thump up front. that's a neat trick! thanks for sharing. i usually try to articulate sinewave basslines with synthetic transient sounds, but it never ends up as organic as your example. how do you wor...

i had a battery powered open air techno gig this summer. a friend of mine and myself plugged some battery powered stuff like korg volcas and such to a passive matrix mixer, and then distributed the output to two battery powered mini amps. mine was a vox mini 3, his a yamaha thr 10. not only does the...

i got ones from an audiologist, molded like my ear tubes and with changeable filters. I use them for nearly every concert, because the filters are not very aggressive. for absurdly loud shows I use bilsom 303. they dampen audio a lot, but that name is cool. I also have a couple of alpine musicsafe w...

yes of course all of them provide plug-in power, but often only deliver 3v, which will be insufficient for many plug-in mics (at least not without reduced headroom issues). that is interesting information! i didn't know that (well, i didn't measure the plug in power yet). but i didn't have issues w...

(few recorders, if any, deliver the 5v most plug-in microphones expect for optimal results, but you can build or buy a b-box for cheap). Olympus LS10, LS11 and LS5 do for sure, as well as the Zoom H1 (which I would, however, not recommend). I'm pretty sure many recorders which don't have XLR and ph...

I use a lotharek hxc since some time now. the support by these guys is excellent! however, it's not faster than the original floppy drive (I heard people claiming this; turns out those people neither ever used a hxc nor did they understand how it works!). and you're still bound to the floppy sizes; ...

my mg v2.0 arrived last week, and now the new chips are ready!
i wonder if it's even worth, the firmware on mine can't be too far off.

however, good fun! i'm pretty sure it'll replace my op1 on some gigs for field recording & athmo playback.

What happened to that Fonitronik one? That looked great. i got a pre-production run prototype 1.5 years ago (i think the panel layout is not final). back then i thought matthias would soon be releasing the production run, because otherwise (i guess) he wouldn't have sold a prototype. apparently did...

Sorry, no info here. At least JrF has good reputation, mostly based on his hydrophones. I'd be curious to hear about your experience with the contact mics!
The piezo disks I use achieve rather poor results and I might be ready for an upgrade.

uh, that's going to be tricky. first, i'd disassemble the module. unscrew all pots and jacks, take the frontplate off. i know the faceplates are secondary to you, but it's the easier fix: now get a hair blower and some paper towel, heat the wax on the faceplates and quickly let it soak into the pape...

that's quite cool!
if the microcontroller is placed in a dip socket, changing it will be a piece of cake.
way easier than setting up a toolchain, getting a programmer, hooking it up and burning the new firmware.
