Re: What's Your pick for a standalone, sub $300.00 usd, used or new, synth

Microfreak and the DSI Evolver both offer lots of flexibility and sound great These are my 2 picks for most-bang-for-your-bux synths, though the Evolver won't be had for under $300. Add to that the DSI AS-1 and Virus A or B (also not likely to find any under $300). So my final answer is the Microfr...

Engine is only 8 tracks but it's a pleasure to use, if you can find one. There will be a successor at some point.

I haven't had any issues clocking from Engine sequencer via MIDI.

Re: Hologram microcosm

I've got mine and it's really neat. It will take some time to really get to know, and really understand each of the algorithms/effects but it's fun and sounds amazing. The looping is cool, the reverb sounds nice, the filter is nice to have although I do wish it could be multi-mode. I also got a 0-ct...

Re: Obsessing about MIDI latency and jitter

Yes, if you want to work with a computer and hardware, you need to get sample accurate sync and MIDI out of the box ain't gonna cut it. I've been using the Expert Sleepers USAMO which is the cheapest way to get this, and once it's set up it works awesome. A lot of friends have the ERM Multiclock and...

It's not a pedal but an MS20 is one of the more fun drum processors to me.
Beat me to it. The ESP circuit on there is super fun, envelope following for HPF and LPF can get some wild stuff. It's gonna be dirty as hell though.

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

So how does it work over MIDI? Does it follow the MIDI 303 "typical" parameter set? In other words, is accent controlled by a velocity value, slides controlled by overlapping notes? I guess the easiest thing would be to just record the internal sequencer via MIDI and see what you get! Badly. Don't ...

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

Just a quick question for those of you that have the TD-3. I have gone through the quick start manual and haven't seen much in the way of MIDI implementation. What exactly does the TD-3 send and receive via MIDI? I assume MIDI clock start/stop, but any note data? Could you drive this from an extern...

Re: Rare Waves Grendel Grenadier

:help: could anyone who owns one please confirm, does the grenadier slide(glide) when sequenced from an acid-style sequencer such as the tb-303(or tt-303,xoxbox,futureretro orb and the like)? any help is greatly appreciated! Works great with Engine sequencing cv/gate, and any 303 clone that has cv/...

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

This thing has a growl to it that I can't get out of my Avalons. I'm having so much fun, more than on my Avalons. I didn't want to say it out loud... :sstorm: Granted the Avalon is much more, but once they fix MIDI slides this will be the best straight 303 clone around, hands down. Ya hate to see it.

Re: Drum machine recommendations for OT

R8 is a good idea too though. Unique and very good sequencer, and the sounds are good. The cards are awesome if you can find them. Then again you can get all of these samples and use them on OT, which is what I do now.

I'd +1 on saving for a MD.

Re: Behringer teases 303 clone?

After a couple days with it, and initially thinking it sounded worse than I'd been expecting, I've decided that it sounds quite good. I have an Avalon and that's not going anywhere, but this really does sound good. Being forced to work with the internal / OG 303 sequencer has been kind of fun since ...

:omg: Thanks. Confusing as hell! That's how the SEM style filter works, and it's laid out similarly on Pro 2 (though as everyone has mentioned, with added routing options for the 2 filters as well). The Abstrakt Instruments SEM filter cart also works this way with continuous morph between LPF > Not...
