Re: New gear from Moog, what would you like to see happen.?

When you are selling 5 figure modular systems, figuring out a way to sell low 3 figure modules without cannibalizing system sales is difficult.

Re: A through-zero FM VCO that is 4 hp?

Thanks for these ideas. I actually have a couple Disting, but missed the through zero bit!

The FM Aid looks pretty interesting. I’ll probably get one if I can find one.

Re: Lifeforms SV-1b & suggested modules

I started my eurorack system with a SV-1, then added to it. My suggestion is to hold off and add modules when you keep finding yourself needing A specific function with some frequency.

A through-zero FM VCO that is 4 hp?

Subject pretty much asks the question. I’m looking for a through-zero FM VCO that is only 4 hp wide.

Even if out of production, if such a thing has existed I’d be interested in hearing about it.

Re: Korg 2600 Mini

FWIW my measurements were made based on the size of the MS-20 Mini I have. I believe the K2600 Mini is designed for 19” rack compatibility. I would be surprised if the sliders are 42 mm, but it’s possible I was off by a few mm.

Re: Korg 2600 Mini

So using the photo and my own Korg Mini MS-20, I took various ruler measurements trying to allow for perspective in the photo, and came up with this… Total width of unit = 19 inches (!) Apparent slider travel (ie length of slot) = 38.5 mm I wouldn't stake my life on these. I'm pretty confident of th...

Re: Korg 2600 Mini

For live improvisation a tiny 2600 might be just the thing. Easy to carry/move. For live stuff all those sliders are helpful.

Re: Behringer 2600

First, a Wendy Carlos fan back from when Switched on Bach was a new release...

But I don’t see a basis for a lawsuit over the B2600 Switched On Bach. The composition is public domain. And timbres are not protected.

Re: Behringer System 55

If you have an extra row of sequencer knobs you can add its output attenuated down. This amounts to one row being coarse tune, and the other fine tune.

Re: Behringer 2600

The synthtopia site lists these specs which raise questions. (They do say preliminary and subject to change. But these look to me like enhancement ideas that didn't make it into the final product.) "Multi-mode VCF with dedicated low-pass output with additional switched high/notch output" No sign of...

Re: Behringer 2600

Aha…so either Behringer hasn't released a photo of the real unit and it really does have those enhancements much like the CMS 2607…or Synthtopia used a CMS 2607 spec sheet when they wrote the BARP article not realizing it was different.

Or something.

Re: Behringer System 55

Anyone have a napkin calculation as to the increase in list price to the 911 if it had acceptably improved pots in the first place?

Re: Behringer System 55

OK, my apologies, but I’m going to have to try one more time. You’ve explained why I might want to change a pot on the 911. You’ve explained what is wrong with the stock pots in general. What I’m asking is what I would notice as a user as an improvement if I changed pots on my 914. (Sorry if I’m bei...

Re: Behringer System 55

So you’re saying as you turn the knob sometimes you get a lot of change, and in some other positions not as much? And you are trying to even that out? Sorry, I always need to put it in context. Hmm, I thought I posted this image. This is what the OEM pot looks like to me. There are three 'dead' zon...

Re: Behringer 2600

Aftermarket product? A 1U patchable synth-level spring reverb with VC wet/dry, and 2600-like panel graphics. That would total 9U then.

Probably not enough demand...but amusing to think about.

Re: Behringer System 55

I suspect others may feel like I do...appreciative, but buried in details. Regarding the 914, could you summarize why one would want to change the pots? This is my engineering logbook. :0) I’m messy that way - better to put too much than not enough. Simply put, the stock potentiometers lack the abi...

Note that the box gives the dimensions as 8U as earlier estimated here from photos. Notably smaller than the original.
