This is the classic Serge quantizer from the 80ies. No microcontroller and software involved, everything is CMOS. Whatelse do you want to know?

Re: R*S CROCODILE
Just for the record, the La Bestia II will be available again.
We still ramp up 4U production to meet the demand, but it is a process. Covid did not make things easier this year, too.

Re: Random Source's TKB
I have a quick question - if you press 2 or more keys at the same time, are the combined voltages added to the appropriate row output jack? I use the swamp currently and looking for the same functionality of multiple combined button / pad presses. If I recall snippets here and there they implemente...

Re: Quintessential Serge Modules
Do not overlook the "Active-Pro/Noise/Precision CV-Pro" module. This module features the new ACPR, which Serge himself believes is one of his best designs. It is a very precise voltage controlled linear crossfader.

Re: Quintessential Serge Modules
Random Source also do the TKB with euro jacks... :tu: http://randomsource.net/serge_panels Yeah, but it's still 4U format; and so harder to integrate into a Euro format rack. It'd have to be used as a standalone unit. Yes, It is meant as a controller to be put in front of the modular. Therefore it ...

my Cascade ;) (attenuvertion, offset, gain, mixing, DIY-fun) +1 for the Cascade I DIYed a 4 channel version in 8HP based on your schematic. Love it :) In the early days (2011) I did a 4 channel version but in 12hp, the fonitronik MH01! Vince Clarke has one, Depeche Mode has one, and Deadmau5 bought...

Re: Random*Source Serge Mantra panel
How do the MAntra fit in a superslim boat?, my Carnivore wouldn´t fit in my TKB superslim boat? It does fit. Even the La Bestia II does fit into a superslim boat. The trick is to use angled power headers. And the Mantra leaves enough room for an internal PSU under the sequencer. For the La Bestial ...

Re: Serge Information and Purchasing
------ Corona Virus Update ------ Frankfurt, 2 April 2020. We are glad to report that here at Random*Source, so far, we have not been significantly affected by the Corona pandemic - production is running and our shop open. However, we do experience some delays from suppliers which may lead to delay...

Re: New Random*Source Serge oscillator?
I would love to see a Utility 4x4 - something like a preamp, a dual VCA, audio mixer & cv processor. Yes. That sound good. Since we still expand the portfolio it is always a balance between panels/modules for starter and panels/modules for larger systems. But one thing is for sure, there is a lack ...

Re:
what is PEAK & TROUGH for? I'm sure this is answered in more thorough detail elsewhere but put simply it's a means of isolating the peaks (positive) and troughs (negative) of a complex signal. Several signals (all CV, in this case) can be combined to yield multistructural waveforms. Min/Max modules...

Re: Where to start with Serge
For anyone wondering about the DUSG: The original Edelweiss was a panel using CGS PCBs. The R*S DUSG underwent several stages of improvement with the aim to make it more usable in the audio range as an utility VCO. Today there is temo compensation, the transients are much sharper than on any other v...

Hello Rob, I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for doing what you are doing. Mike created something that made a huge impact on the world of modular synthesis - and Mike himself had made positive impact on quite a few individuals like me. All the best! Mantra is a good starter panel IMHO.
Here is a recent patch where I play just the Mantra with the TKB, using the Mantra 8-step programmer as a 2nd keyboard:

Is Serge "standalone" and people usually build entire system out of them or can you simply add them to existing Eurorack setups? Our Random*Source Euro-Serge modules are the 4U designs but in the 3U form factor. You could use the Eurorack infrastructure. Yes, you could combine them with any other E...

We are very excited actually to have the P&T as a companion for the dual PCO. CAn I use the P&T section of the DUSG XL the same way? This is the very reason we added the P&T to our DUSG MKII, since the DUSG MKII runs nicely as an VCO (tracking up to 4 octaves when set up properly and running the ri...
