Re: MAM Warp 9 kaputt!

You could start with wiggling the big socketed IC on the right a bit to make sure that all pins make contact but I see that it's based on the Wasp filter so there is a bigger chance that the CD4069 IC is blown, a common problem with that filter design. Check the IC that is between all the box capaci...

Re: Noob question: Rack width vs Module width?

Front panels are usually a bit smaller then the exact calculated size and maybe the rackbrute is actually a bit wider (not sure, never used one) but a 1HP gap over a 88HP row sounds about normal. That's why I like sliding nuts better, no gaps haha. Doepfer has a chart of real panel whith sizes vs th...

Re: Replacement switch Cwejman S1 mkII

It looks like an IP67 toggle switch, not sure if that's the official name but that is what I call them, they're dust and water resistant switches produced by multiple brands. It's probably a standard SPDT one but you can get them in sub miniature or DPDT versions as well. It's possible to determine ...

Okay maybe I’m too tired for this shit right now, somehow my decaying mind interpreted that Post by andyhornblower as an question but to be fair, it is pretty weird to post in a ten year old thread about this when there is a stickie, well at least to my pulp formally as brain.

Hou have to ignore yourself, then you get a message that you can’t ignore yourself plus two options the first one to return to the topic and the second one to manage your ignore list. I tried it on my phone to see if it’s still working and it is but I got redirected back to the topic automatically s...

It’s indeed a two layer board, most boards in the SDIY world are either one or two layers. And if it’s more you probably get an error message in Eagle because the free version only supports up to two layers. There is another way to check it online btw, oshpark.com has an excellent board checker wher...

You only need to cut the center wire, the other two are ground. If you cut between the (third and fourth, and sixth and seventh) jacks you end up with three isolated mults and if you cut between the tabs right above the (fourth, and seventh) jack you end up with a switching mult.

Yeah but they didn't even try to make a deal with OnChip. are you sure about that? cheers No I'm not but the first sentence of the OnChip quote does strongly imply that. So it's a bit of speculation from my side but I did shoot them a fb message with the question if they were ever contacted by Cool...

if they wanted the 3340 so bad they could have bought them from OnChip themselves except that OnChip only decided to start making CEM3340 again when they found out CoolAudio was in the process of reverse engineering it. cheers A year and a half ago we learned that another company planned to reverse...

I had high hopes for Behring when they acquired thing like Midas and TC electronics. It seemed like they were finally breaking away form their "copy, paste" model of developing stuff but this is not even back to square one, this is a whole new game and could well be the death of the synth renaissanc...

Judging by the orientation of the two capacitors next to the power header -12 is at the edge of the board. Those are polarized filter caps and the orientation is always the same, for +12 it's the positive side to +12 and the negative side to ground and for -12 it's the negative side to -12 and the p...

Re: Module Screws

Power cable is mandatory and easy because it's all IDC but fixing screws are a different story. There are way to many options in both size and form factor/color out there to satisfy everybody with the same screw. Most of us already have a bag of their own either provided by their case maker or bough...
