Re: Decoupling Cap Position/ Type

As stated above the consensus is 10-100nF on the chips rails, as close as possible to it's power input pins and indeed electrically and thus physically. Also 10uF at the power input of the board, where i switch often to bigger caps for modules that ask for more stability like VCO's, were the slighte...

Re: Scratchy Sound in Pots - any cure?

Is this scratching effect mostly when they're near the middle position? then obviously it's the pot... if it's also in their end position with some luck it's just a bad solder point... had to replace a few of those cheap chinese 6mm pots which look like the Alpha pots... when i noticed that some of ...

Re: Doing more with less

Of course i meant the LPG and not an LPF... obvious typo... Having at least one as an option as a final output stage would be fine imho due to it's special characteristics on sound (of course i then would also inlcude one gate to trigger converter being able to ping it, which enhances it's special c...

Re: Doing more with less

E.g. Would this be too limited or does it lack a little extra something or other? Two VCOs, one of which is a TH 555 VCO. S&H and noise. One LFO A mixer with enough inputs. Two ADSRs An interesting VCF, e.g. SSM 2040 One VCA, (but "you can never have too many VCAs"). Some sort of reverb Add some 80...

Re: What are you listening to now?

Sorry for spamming this thread, but actually while not willing to go to bed and watching some videos on YT, i've came across this video by the Severed Heads. It's from a performance in Switzerland and the introduction left me rolling on the floor laughing... Good evening we're from Australia. Which ...

Re: What is it about the musical genre "noise" that you find appealing?

Depends on... Once i was more invested into noise music... For my part it was a steady progress of radicalization in what i consumed in a musical sense... starting with some ordinary EBM and later arrived at Skinny Puppy and thus slipped into the noise genre from there... Nowadays i don't listen tha...

Re: YATMA - Yet Another Transistor MAtcher ( for lazybones )

1 and 5 look very good, but laso 2 and 4... if i would have too choose between the two i would rearrange the order so that each pair is sitting next to the other and both trannies of a pair are sitting next to each other and probe again with a smaller division and see if one of them is lcoser matche...

Re: Site Migration Completed

Great job and many thanks Rob! Glad to see Muffwiggler going on and continue.

Well might take some time to acclimate myself with the new layout... starring for years onto the same layout has scarved it's traces into my brain, but i'm pretty sure it will take not so long to adjust to the new one.

Got some decent results once with a DUSG (VCS or any other variant will probably work too) and a VC-Divider... tested it again and well a CV processor would be useful to offset the CV that controls the divider so that the one DUSG as sound source is low so that you have no or hardly recognizable aud...

Why not also use colored adhesive tape for the already colored wires to get more different choices? That's what i do, wrap a red tape at both ends of the yellow cable for example to distinguish it better from the one with a blue ring on both ends... works best in my usual rats nests... and when i us...

hmm... in the schematics i have on my PC it's a TL072 for the spring driver and recovery... Perhaps an older version as it's from 2013 going by the date in the appendix. okay looked at the most recent schematics and it's indeed pin 8 of a TL074 to where the "gnd" ring should connect (actually as sai...

please keep in mind that only the output RCA socket is grounded, but the input is not... on the input still both ends of the socket need to be soldered. the "gnd" one connecting to pin 1 of the TL072 and the "hot" (signal) one connecting to the junction between the 2k2 resistor and the 10uF cap... i...

with some compromise and sacrifices perhaps, route the LFO to one VCA switching off the VCF input of that VCA and then disable that output via switch to re-route the output back to the VCO modulation or the VCF modulation of the other section... you would usually sacrifice one Voice which was handle...

If i understand you correct you want the LFO to be used as an envelope for the VCA's... Then i guess the best way is to pick up the LFO signal after the buffer and probably have to convert it to a voltage range between gnd and +10V (or less) and add it the same way to the VCA control input pin 2 as ...
