Re: Alternate word for "Threshold" on panel?

If it's just because Threshold is too long to fit onto the panel, i would simply use the abbreviation THD.

Re: question: how to 'smooth' S&H signal?

the nicest flexibility in terms of control, especially CV control over slew function would be any variant of the Serge VCS (like already mentioned Maths) And as it's one of the multi-functional modules i would say: get one :hihi: Really i have no patch where i didn't use them, as audio/CV processor,...

Re: polyfusion spring reverb

As suggested/promised here's a short and rather dirty demo after having fixed it... CV bleedthrough is still there and minimal but the new trimmer works contrary to the other one... maybe i'll poke around this later again as i have a half LM13700 and a half 1458 unused.. perhaps some CV resonance mo...

Re: ring modulator troubleshooting

As Neil had pointed out, you sould measure something from each outer pin to the center tapped pin... Assuming this 100 ohm measurement and that this is an both wirings are the same you should measure around 50 ohms between each outer tap and the center tap... If it would be a say 24VAC input and 15V...

Haaa... who was this stupid amateur??? Thanks @notmiserlouagain ...thanks to your question i looked for the 4th or 5th time again on my build and the darlington buffer combination and i finally spotted the mistake i made... i put the 2K resistor going to -15V on the collector of the 2nd Bc547 and no...

Re: polyfusion spring reverb

Assuming the 1k is on the emitter not the collector of the 2nd transistor... ;) No it's indeed on the emitter. According to the CA3094 datasheet that collector junction is pin 8 "sink" output on the CA 3094 and in the schematic of the reverb it goes to +15V. But well... my bad i spotted that i had ...

Yes i use an spring tank with exactly those parameters as shown in the schematic. Below you'll see how i'll implemented the circuitry of the CA3094 with an LM13700 and those trannies and resistors. Polyfusion Spring Reverb2.gif IMG_0049.JPG Yes i'm also under the impression that it is not driven har...

polyfusion spring reverb

Following my last recent thread where i asked if it's possible to breed an somehow own CA3094 out of an LM13700 and some trannies and resistors some of you said yes, that it should be possible. https://www.experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Reverb/Polyfusion%20Spring%20Reverb.gif Well i th...

Great patches in here. Simple night recording, birds are epoch twin peak feedback, crickets (could have improved this!) is noise through the cwejman mmf-1, and additional sounds are made through the g0. Headphones recommended. https://soundcloud.com/deltatucanae/nightswamp-060820 sounds more like e...

He did not seem to share my view on the value of the information when I communicated with him a couple of years ago. He said he was surprised it had lasted as long as it had, and that he thought it had little lasting value. From the technological point he might be right as much of these circuits ha...

Re: Transferring cassette recordings to computer/mp3

Wouldn't it help to record the clock signal? I mean i have an old Tascam 424 and an Tascam 2488 which i only use to record the whole already "mixed" down to 2 channels in my analogue mixing console. I once experimented with recodring a clock signal and then proceed to record 4 other voices in a ryth...

Re: +/- 12V out of 24V DC power supply?

As others have said it's absolutely useless. There is a reason why people use a 18VAC transformer for a +/-15VDC supply and not an 36VAC or 48AC transformer. If you don't intend to build a modular cooking place, to roast some bacon and cook an egg, the massive amount of heat that has to be dissipate...

Re: How bad is it to go a tad over the max mA?

Apart from overloading your power bus board or PSU i would worry about the stability of the voltage that actually get's into the modules... mostly speaking of VCO's, VCF's and other modules depending on a stable power supply. You might possibly have glitches in the pitch, may have modules with cross...

Does anyone know if everything is okay with Bernie? I have been advised to try to get hold of the whole lot but he isn't shipping to europe anymore or even taking orders. Did anything ever come about from the scanning for the archive into PDF? More than happy to buy the PDFs from him. Apart from pr...

Re: converting LM13700 into CA3094?

Thanks @Guest the main difference betwenn the both, as i see it the CA3094 is just some sort of CA3080 with an output buffer able to drive 100mA constantly and 200mA max, added on, so i'm guessing the LM13700 won't work here as as far as i figured it out those 1,4K impedance input coils would demand...

converting LM13700 into CA3094?

Well this might be a stupid question, but i have an schematic for an spring reverb (polyfusion spring reverb) which demands a CA3094 for the driving circuit for the springs. https://www.experimentalistsanonymous.com/diy/Schematics/Reverb/Polyfusion%20Spring%20Reverb.gif From what i found out online ...

Re: The 2020 Show Us Your DIY Builds Thread!

Some kind of expansion for my crappy modular synth lab. Interesting, in that it is a bunch of stuff on one large panel. I was thinking along the same lines myself. I have two 42HP blank panels that came with my Doepfer system when I bought it. I thought it would be easier to lay out some utilities ...

Re: Feedback

Yepp, as said above sounds nice but the sound chiming in around the 2 minute mark doesn't really match with the mood of the track.

Perhaps just make two versions of it. The normal version being the two minute track and an "extended" version with that additional 41 seconds. :)

just achieved some similar reverbish (a short one) effect not with a ringmod but with 2 VCO's one LPG and Waveshaper and a slope generator. Setup is: VCO1 and 2 tuned to some harmonic relation... VCO1 sine out to waveshaper... VCO2 square out to exp.in of VCO1 somewhere between 30-60%... both VCO's ...

as i said before the resonance on my build (alas with some home brewn vactrols and on stripboard) the resonance was massive and i think my on resistance was somehwere between 400-1,5k... i rather tamed my resonance settings by playing with the resistor value that's going to gnd after the reso pot (i...
