Re: de-bloating windows 10

> there is no harm in doing it How do you know this? Because it removes and changes non-essential parts of the OS that just waste space and CPU cycles? It's not rocket science. I've been doing this ever since I got into music production, which is the better part of what... 22 years? Note that you d...

Re: de-bloating windows 10

People should do whatever the fuck they want with their computers, but the discourse level around these things is about the same level as boomer audiophile cable discussions.

Re: de-bloating windows 10

What are people actually trying to achieve? Is there a before after measurement in terms of latency or whatever that might make this appealing? I have a Windows 10 computer and certainly didn't "debloat" anything and it works very well. Also LOL at "registry healer", brb taking my modular to a shama...

is there an easy way to see if a switched psu has linear regulation?
Usually it's noted by the manufacturer, but best to ask them.

Sadly not, I like what I can get out of the ND2, but for claps I sample them and make this sort of WMD Fracture thing, Huge fan of real claps with bit reduction :) What kind of claps are you looking to make? Re: Ocatrack and Assimil8tor owners...

Not sure if you can do this with the Octatrack, but you can use the Assimil8or with single cycle waveforms like a simple FM synth.

In general I just love how the assimil8or sounds.

Re: Samplers with time stretch

I'd assume the Assimil8tor, at almost $1000 does time stretch, and I'd hope Nerdseq, which seems like it was made for jungle, has it, but I haven't dug through the manuals. What are your options for looped beat mangling in eurorack? Or are there any tricks for getting around not having time stretch...

Re: NerdSeq vs ER-101 for live improvisation

I really feel 101/102 is very usable live, however it requires quite a bit of practice. NerdSEQ probably has way more affordances for this so probably more immediately useful.

Re: Who prefers the workflow of modular drum setups?

As said above, learning a drum machine workflow can be daunting and keep you from actually making music. Does it seem ironic to anyone else to hear this sentiment in a forum about modular synths? Lol I could learn a drum machine inside out before I even finish my modulargrid eruorack drum machine d...

Re: Rossum Control Forge and Satellite

I think perhaps expectations right now are too high. Day 0 of a new product and 15 synthfluencers have 1 hour long walkthroughs. It’s extremely boring. Rossum manuals are excellent, and you can get a very good idea what a module can do from them even before you have it. From my experience with the A...

Yeah, that’s a challenge. The per stage gate outputs are active in this mode, so you can combine them with a buffered mult or similar to get 8 gates per cycle.
That's a good idea, thanks.

I honestly don't think she said anything snobbish in the video, and IMHO, many people would be well served to look into the techniques she developed for her performances and try to apply whichever system they are using and whatever they think of her output.

Re: Buchla 248 Marf in Eurorack?

I'm not nearly as familiar with the MARF as some others here are, but it seems to me that the Verbos Multistage and Sequence Selector combo which I own, allow me to do many of the techniques I've read that people do with the MARF. This does mean you get, as already mentioned, only one clock, however...

Re: E370 + Morpheus

I wonder if complaints about the morpheus sounding thin vs the e4 could be alleviated by some sort of output stage after it, i.e. some VCA that could be saturated. I'm asking of course as someone who's unfortunately never had an E4.
