More of a "surplus" house, but I have ordered parts from here with no problem:

Perfect thanks, and still dirt cheap including shipping to the UK.

LM4250CN replacement.

Hey all,
I'm looking to build a Polivoks board for my Shruthi but the LM4250CN are discontinued and I don't want to chance buying fakes from Ebay, is there a drop in equivalent? They can't have just discontinued them without there being a replacement...?

Re: DIY Mutable Unsuccessful Builds

Hi everyone, I'm having some trouble getting my stlink utility to recognize mu antumbra knit build. I've followed Cnicht's suggestions to stekme. I've checked the voltages and everything looks ok on the 3.3v, 3.3vA and on the -10v ref. However, I'm still unable to even get the stm32 seen by my stli...

Shruthi firmware flashing via USBASP

Hi all. Firstly I know nothing about flashing so keep it simple. I've got the bootloader and firmware HEX files for the Shruthi but I wanted to do it without using the DEV-ENV, is this possible? I've got a USBASP adapter but I'm more used to using an ST-link and only using the DEV-ENV for compiling ...

Re: DIY 4ms SMR

I'm getting mad on a couple of boards I ordered 99% pre-populated from JLC (I only soldered all TH components, all led drivers ICs, and a couple of capacitors..which I have now desoldered) Electrolytis where presoldered and I removed them 'cause they didn't look like well soldered... one of the two...

Re: DIY Yarns

My first Mutable build, really pleased with the end result. Board and plain metal front panel from Amazing Synths, great service, fast delivery and useful supporting advice. Many thanks Adam. Only my third SMD project, it really stretched my abilities but I like a challenge. I don't think I will ge...

Re: DIY builders for hire

Hi All, I am just getting into EuroRack and I have a Pittsburgh Modular MIDI3 - bought it second hand, it is my first extender module for a DFAM and M32 combo. Using it with a RowPower 30. It wasnt working when it arrived, I think I tried to power into the wrong connector (the extender connector?) ...

Re: DIY 4ms SMR

That's a great idea, I will try hotplate before I grab a rework station. Also, shameless self plug, wrote a little blog on my build experience: https://www.stevetravale.com/4ms-smr-build-diary-9/ Any feedback would be much appreciated! I don't think anyone really reads this sort of content anymore....

Solder paste dispenser.

I'm sure there are a lot of DIYers using solder paste and even those using soldering irons for SMD work will find this handy:

This I have found worth it's weight in gold over the last 6 months, I can highly recommend it.

Re: DIY 4ms SMR

I so glad the iBOM opens this module up to DIYers that would have normally given it a go. We are blessed with the permission of the designer and it is quite a challenge, even with the iBOM. It made me sit down with vagrant and figure that out, even if it is just to write HEX files. I use a hot plate...

Re: DIY 4ms SMR

Have you managed to sort the issues out yet? It may not even be component related, It could be a bad batch of PCBs. Who is JLC? No, I got angry with the boards after somethin like 10 hours of debugging and decided to do something else for a while JLC is JLCPCB, I have ordered many times from them t...

Have a look in "build", in a subfolder for each project / Eurorack module.

e.g.

C:\Users\{your_name_here}\mutable-dev-environment\eurorack-modules\build\plaits

- or Mac equivalent.
And there it is, Something I overlooked as always.
Thanks for pointing the obvious out Andy.

Re: MI modules DIY: hex and binary files

I'm trying to make HEX files from the Make files via Vagrant. It took me a while but I've managed to everything working but using the: make -f xxxxx/bootloader/makefile hex make -f xxxxx/makefile hex It does something but if it is writing the HEX file, I don't seem to be able to find it anywhere. Re: Need some help with compiling hex file [SOLVED]

I managed to get everything working but I don't seem to be able to find the HEX file i've made. I guess I'll need to spend a little more time to figure out where it puts things. It would be nice if it put the HEX files in the same place it found the make files.

Re: DIY 4ms SMR

It makes the build within reach for so many people, it's a fantastic module but just seeing the 114 1k resistors.....hmmm, so much room for error. The iBOM is the way forward and I'm glad people can make use of it. It was another wiggler that put me on to it when I started building SMD modules. This...

Re: Order

I'm tempted to solder an area at a time (diodes, caps, resistors), sort of soldering in a circle around the IC's, so that I can leave some space for the tip, thoughts? Has anyone just done say all 114 of the 1K resistors one after the other and then moved on to all of another value? Any other tips?...

Re: DIY 4ms SMR

Well the build was straight forward enough using the iBOM, took a little under 5hrs from start to finish with only one issue along the way....The 12/5v jumper...hmmmm...idiot.
