Re: SQUEEZE 4HP compressor by FEEDBACK [NEW module]
Ordered 6 of the Squeeze's in early July, waiting patiently for my "6 channel drum compression"...these are surely times that require patience with international shipping! Yo, that's nuts, but I'm not gonna lie, honestly its a good idea, especially when you save on shipping. That's probably the onl...

Re: Balanced transformer outputs: I have Q's and would like your A's
I've owned several transformer based modules (Please exist, RIP, Isolator). The isolator is the best deal, but the overload distortion is not very pleasant sounding, whereas the RIP really gives you a lot to work with tonally, plus you can add a DC offset for a bit of drive. It also works bi-directi...

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.
I don't get being mad about Behringer's release schedule or products not appearing/not getting regular social media updates. Who cares? If it arrives, buy it. If it doesn't, buy something else. So with a minimoog, a wasp, a VP-330, and a TB-303 I've saved approximately $14,000 from not having to bu...

Anyone use these in stereo? I feel like it could be fairly interesting, especially if each had different sequential switches patterns.

Re: Let's talk about the Doepfer vocoding system!
See this is one of those things you really wish behringer would rip off. I mean, it's why I bought their vocoder, it's the only 600 analog vocoder on the market. If they made that into a module system, it would be game over. Maybe when they've cloned every other vintage piece of gear on the planet t...

Re: Behringer/Klark Teknik 3rd Dimension BBD-320
Under 200 with balanced I/O? Seems like a winner. It's definitely worth a punt. It sounds good enough straight out of the box. The balanced input is pretty crude though. Don't expect a huge CMRR. It's a single op-amp (one half of a 4580) with four resistors. Better than an unbalanced input though. ...

Re: Using Eurorack to make a crunchy hardcore-ish guitar sound
Having played in a powerviolence band back in the day, I spent a while trying to do this. Yes, what everyone is saying is correct Rings into distortion works great for this. I have to say, I was able to get a more convincing version of this than any of the examples posted so far with an electron fuz...

Re: Akai S950 Sampler Sound - ALM MUM M8 and samplerate-reduction?
Akai S950: Cons: Potentially more likely to break/Harder to Service Interface is less hands on You may want to replace the floppy drive with a card reader as it's the most likely part to break> But as vintage samplers go the Akai's are rock solid. Also its interface is a breeze once you get used to...

Re: Black Market Modular Colour Palette (500 Series In Euro)
When I first saw (and purchased) the Black Market Colour Palette, I thought for sure we would see all sorts of custom circuits for the thing. I thought it was a genius piece of engineering. I'm still shocked and confused that the system didn't seem to maintain interest beyond the initial novelty bu...

Check out Bart HRK. An ex-Neve engineer does them and they sound great. Can't...

Re: Akai S950 Sampler Sound - ALM MUM M8 and samplerate-reduction?
Just a heads up, you are asking about bit depth, not sample rate. Sample rate is the rate at which information is sampled and reconstructed, bit depth refers to the actual amount of information in each sample. It's fairly easy to replicate low sample rates, not quite as easy to replicate older A/D a...

It sounds like they use the same chip as the Emax II? If so, that sounds like a winning combination.

Roland JD-1080. Tons of sounds, great acoustic instruments, great synth sounds, easy to set up for performance and cheap.
If you don’t mind an giant beast, the TS-12 sounds fantastic and can be had for cheap.
I feel like the Korg stuff is really solid, but have only messed with it slightly.

I get why people feel burned, but unfortunately this is true of many of these small companies. It sucks, but as someone who bought a bunch of their stuff second hand, all of then were finished solid instruments. There have been things I didn’t like (Prophet 08 felt cheap, knobs always were weird in ...

Re: What's your take on the BEHRINGER MODEL D? Seen a lot for sale recently.
Neutrons are also selling for nothing. I know this is off-topic, but I'm enjoying my Neutron more and more as part of a slightly larger modular setup whereas I was always a bit 'meh' about it on its own. Paired with another filter it sounds great and the patchbay is full of useful goodies. If you s...

Re: What's your take on the BEHRINGER MODEL D? Seen a lot for sale recently.
Considering they were selling for that price months before the pandemic, I'd say it has very little to do with that. The reason why it's cheap is that it's the first of the behringer clones, Neutrons are also selling for nothing. The Model D was a big deal because everybody and their grandmother kno...

Re: max/msp random float
Wouldn’t the the most computationally efficient way be to set the random object’s range to X (X being whatever the amount of resolution you want) and then divide by X as a floating point variable?
So random object 1000 into / object with 1000. As the right operand. Am I missing something?

How much do you want to be that it's going to be replaced this fall. Didn't dave say he was working on something new?
I can't wait to scoop one up for peanuts, just like the Pro-2 and the Prophet 12. Although, if it's a Pro-3 type revision, it might just be worth it to save up for the new one.
