Re: Post your NEW 5U Audio and Videos here

during system warmup, I tried to record something unsual without any inputs on cv/gate.
OTO effects and RML adds some colours, psychedelic notes and space.

Re: Dotcom Q165 prototype module

Im interested in ordering one if they make it as a teenager electronic kit. DIY full kit, some easy circuits and which elements should be soldered inwhich order. It’s like double fun for guys who can create only DIY cases;))

Re: 5U sounding Oscillator, not in 5U format?

Furthrrrr generator left part. Sine, pulse and saw sound raw. Good filter (if you use pulse or saw) like from VSL provide you a good bass. Some characterful vcas like from Verbos add some drive. Still prefer in terms of raw sound my Mos-Lab system. Its whole system like a musical instrument if I wan...

Re: Behringer and COTK,MOSlab,Synthwerk Clones

In terms of sound/money ratio software plugins beat them all - MU boutique clones, Eurorack clones, and Behringer. But the rest parameters are also matter like UX and fun. As an proud owner of Mos-Lab system and Synth-Werk modules I can say they worth its money. Its really pleasure to play with them...

Re: 5U getting started thread?

Alt way:
1) watch Mos-Lab demos, .Com video guides
2) put in a queue of Mos-Lab systems (about 1 year)
3) it’s a good time to think do you really need MU system (no deposit needed)

I like bass riffs in rock and these guys created them a lot.

Re: 5U: Your surprised-you-module(s)

Mos-Lab FFB is very musical in sequencer music or for percussion parts. Im big fan of my Mos-Lab 16 starter system but FFB was almost in the dust there. one day I discovered how to cook it and now its my favorite MU module

The whole idea of buying top notch convertors/audio interfaces to record sounds from digital modules with cheapest (adc)/dac looks very optimistic :))

Re: I got it mastered and now I hate it

I think that mastering overvalued instead of cases if you produce some vinyls (and even this fact allows you to spend money on a good pro-mastering). For the rest - spending more time on mixing the material give better results. If you have a friend with good tape recorder and pair of eq/comps- it ca...

Both demos (official one and one another above in this thread) didnt create any GAS effect for me. Rings/Plaits are still covered these sounds.

Re: Higher end/vintage small mixers

Most of modern analog mixers are very clean especially in comparison with old Roland/Moog systems. Quality old mixers can be more reliable (and especialy repairable) than modern ones. For 8-12 channels there are some Studer mixers(with transformers , musical eq but still quite clean), some 70’s sie...

Electronica in two variations (eurorack (plaits) and MU modular (mos-lab))

One bone sequence, several night shifts on modular systems, two variations: one with Plaits as sound source, one with Mos-Lab.

My new experiment - create two variations of one bone sequence. One with MU modular, one with eurorack

If you don't see description - it can be a blind test to find where is MU played

Orthogonal Devices ER-301 - very classic design and top quality; MI stack - Marbles/Rings/Plaits/Stages - great UI and panels. Aesthetic of combing organic ideas into industrial world (hope we have new MI modules on the horizon); SSSR Wobla - great feeling of faders not toy faders like on stages. an...

Re: Anyone heard back from Mos-Lab lately?

huh... I'm not clear what you mean by "hiding/damping sound from oscs". Do you mean that you modify the waveforms a bit by rolling off some lows and/or highs before hitting the mixer and/or filter? Both oscs and noise source (through lpf/hpf in the module) go to a mixer (c3po). Adding some noise al...

I can only recommend to add filters/noise. Really good and useful module for hiding/damping sound from oscs. I highly use it in my amateur sound design practice.

Re: Favorite ways to warm up your digital tracks?

1. Less tracks and less reverb in composition (make it good before all goes into one harsh cube of sound). 2. LPF during mixing over 7.5KHz 3. OTO Bim/Bam after eurorack modules. Gain is on 30-70 and some hpf/lpf setting. 4. Don't use cheap output modules in euro during recording tracks (i think i c...
