Are all passive mixers reversible i/o for mixing and splitting?

Howdy - So I've been purchasing passive mixers lately, and I love em. Every single one I buy says something like this: "Split one signal to four outputs" and often also adds "Can also be reversed to sum four signals to one output" So I have a few passive headphone splitters (the school house kind, w...

Always stay within your budget, however high or low !!!
Pardon, ha - Yes! Agree with you. Was just making a comparable but it wasn't needed.

Appreciated, indeed. :cloud:

Re: Is the cost of a module worth it?

It's amazing what gigantic expenses become ordinary costs. No one on this forum has any studio more expensive than a very normal purchase common to someone most streets: A second car. That's an ordinary way to spend a bunch of socially approved money on something. A car really starts at $7,000 a yea...

For the price they sound good.
Thanks! - Funny phrasing there - What does that mean, for the price?
I mean I don't mind a deal but don't want that to be an audio quality.

Curious: Do they sound like moog filters or if not, how? Less musical? Thinner?

Awesome. Thanks! This score uses a ton of synthesis, and heavily leans on Music Easel and 1970's Arp 2600: https://soundcloud.com/justin-melland-music/sets/conversations-with-a-killer Ted Bundy tapes was so well composed, musically! All the drums in this track (a tribute to David Wojnarowicz) is noise and other static sent through an RK5. Used a pittsburgh percussion sequencer to send the trigger pulse.

Ha, rotary mixers are such a rip-off.

Re: What is a resonant filter?

The worst part about self-oscillating filters: everyone who demos a synth that has one always has to demonstrate that horrid high pitched noise. Makes my ears ring, the dog whine, cat runs for cover. True, but if you play the filter itself as a voice it can be very beautiful. Not disagreeing that t...

Ouch, was curious about this based on modest appearance and thought it might be a cool $200-300 dollar mixer, along a Rolls or Monoprice tier. Answer: $3,500!

Bumping my question. Surely people use this for audio? How do you set levels if you constantly have to switch back and forth? I think you'd likely do this with attenuation prior to going into the matrix. "Smart" audio leveling can often destroy the dynamics of a sound, and I'd turn it off, just lik...

Re: Just a Metasonix RK7 Tube VCO module

How did it bring your R55 to life? Are you patching them into each other in some way? Hey - fun question - Let me try to answer that: They're both receiving the same hz/volt converter, as I only have one, so it's a synced two voice piece now instead of a single R55. And a lot of this is likely beca...

Had to stop the Moog stuff as their lawyer sent me a Cease and Desist letter. I framed it and put it up on my studio wall. Not every day you are recognized for your 'awesome' efforts! How f-cking lame of Moog. Guess that's their NO-PASS filter. Moog if you're reading this, that was a bummer move. G...

I have a power conditioner or two, each with multiple outlets to connect gear. I power everything off of those power conditioners as a main switch, and then power down with the main switch. If it's a specific piece I really care about I power off separately first. One thing I am mindful to do is nev...

Noticing the resistance is starting to crumble on these things. Even Noisebug is carrying them. So I should ask: How's the filter and other modules?

I don't expect myself to get one but some gaffer tape to cover up the logo and a cardboard box and I might make a micro model 15.

Re: How Can I Hear Multiple Moog Semi-Modulars In My Headphones?

Yeah you can even go passive with something like an artmix passive - which will merge four signals into a single mono output. Though that will only give you a mono (one side) output for your headphone jack. Seems like you're at a good point in your experience to get a mixer! I agree with Dave and ev...

It doesn't match a real harmonium in any tangible way but Henry Lowengard has a wonderful iOS app that's a very pleasant drone app based on a harmomium, chord and tone wise, and even allows for motion tracking of the phone in your hand like it were a physical one. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sruti...

Re: Euclidean Circles users, what do you pair it with?

I share one LFO squarewave clock with every trigger sequencer and use a dotcom gate math and pam's to break up the clock for each sequencer. euclidean works GREAT in different math'd clocks with other sequencers - particularly much faster or much slower than other clocked sequences. It syncs beautif...
