Re: THE SPACE CASE TE-2 - Eurorack / Standalone Echo + Tape Unit
Thanks for that. Does this update change anyone’s impressions of time to release? As already stated, no one knows the release date. The aforementioned dbags come to the thread every few weeks and rattle on about "will this ever get released", which to Jim, and the rest of us, is a juvenile and tire...

Re: Sonic Potions LXR Drum Synthesizer
As far as I know 60Knobs is supposed to work with the original firmware and so it leads to problems when used with Brendan‘s firmware. Does anyone know where to order lightpipes for the erica metalcase, mine came without them. Thanks! You don't need them anymore, solder the leds to be flush or just...

Re: Soma - LYRA-8 DIY Kit
I've been mulling this build over for a while and reading through the thread has got me excited. Soma just put me on the waiting list, and they said "within a month or so" they should have more pcbs to sell. This long cold winter has led me to finish up some projects, so I'm looking for something el...

Re: running gear on unearthed wall sockets: good idea?
Yeah, grounding is to protect people, not equipment. Grounding/Bonding protects both people and equipment. In a broad sense, yes (I’m a JIW myself, but I didn’t want to get into too much ‘inside baseball’ 😉). But the primary purpose of the ground prong (which is what the OP was about) is to keep sh...

Re: running gear on unearthed wall sockets: good idea?
Yeah, grounding is to protect people, not equipment. Grounding/Bonding protects both people and equipment. The issue with grounding electronics is, it all runs on DC power, so there is nothing to ground or really bond. Grounding is the connection literally from the ground to your main AC panel; bon...

Re: EAR Gristleizer Desktop Build Guide
This is my first time sourcing parts without a full kit, so I appreciate any advice or help. You just gotta poke around ;) Check the COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS link at the top of the DIY Forum homepage. There is a wealth of info on sourcing parts. Re: EAR Gristleizer Desktop Build Guide
Question for anyone who bought the TT PCB sans components and had to source them.... the BOM lists values for the components (Kohms or uF), but no other specifics. I'm trying to build a list in mouser, but with thousands of choices, how do you know if the one you choose is correct. The resistors are...

Re: THE SPACE CASE TE-2 - Eurorack / Standalone Echo + Tape Unit
Some of you are making very broad assumptions about Jim's business practice, and stating them as fact. As I said before, if you have an issue, communicate directly with Jim, and you may find your answer there. Ranting here is unhelpful, and won't make the product finish any faster. As for those who ...

Re: THE SPACE CASE TE-2 - Eurorack / Standalone Echo + Tape Unit
This is not a cut & dry situation so I think it's silly that anyone is acting as such. I absolutely believe that Jim is well-intentioned, extremely creative, and most of all, incredibly knowledgeable about building bespoke tape devices. All that said, there is more that goes into running a company ...

Re: THE SPACE CASE TE-2 - Eurorack / Standalone Echo + Tape Unit
It is true, the dissenting voices are typically the loudest. I'm still waiting, but I'm satisfied with the level of communication and progress given the state of the world. I frankly have bigger things to worry about than a piece of gear. Refunds were available for those who inquired, so clearly som...

Not sure how long it's been there, but there is a very helpful FAQ about the TE-2 that is worth a read. It helps distill many of the posts Jim has made in this thread.

Re: Behringer K-20 eurofied MS-20
I've been waiting for a reissue of the MS-20M, or a decent used price, but since neither seem to be a reality I jumped on a good sale price of the K-2. $399 CDN (amazon 3rd party new) seemed like the best price so far. With our crappy exchange that's like $280 US. Should be here next week. :woah: w...

Re: New Korg MS20..in kit form??
Am I reading this correctly, a reissued version of the original MS-20, without the option to toggle between filter versions, PWM or mods that the MS-20M had? Why can't they just issue the ultimate version already? There is both filter revisions available apparently... But yeah, a bit pricey. Well, ...
