Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

Here's a short video of the Sequarallel's TRAX Tracker Shift editing feature. I am using TRAX#2 solo'ed to stop everything else (even tho drums can be heard) and the source keyboard I recorded from is also providing a MIDI clock. Shift can be applied to individual Lanes of notes, or the entire seque...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

Update: In a different thread I posed the question of whether to start a sequence at 0 or 1. Of those that chimed in, most chose 1. Now the Sequarallel has a tracker format for the 5 TRAX sequencers (much better BTW!), and many trackers are in hex and start at 0, I have decided to just make that an ...

Re: Sequencer Step Numbering

Musical count-up : one, two, three, [action] Another musical count-up: and-a-one, and-a-two, and-a-three, and-a-[action] Count-down: 3, 2, 1, [action] I don't see how that is related to be honest. Just because someone counts 1 doesn't mean the beat is that number, it's just a countdown. If it was 4...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

ok, but 4 notes = 4 notes, we cannot exceed that poly - i mean, another step would only be possible when the previous step is stopped (note off) - or do you plan a (real) poly sequencer? that's why i was thinking about exceeding the length to (max) TRAX length, as all other notes then/still in the ...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

Here I'm playing in a swingy 32 step with TRAX 2 recording while sequencing. The drums were in TRAX 5 and kick/snare/hat on a main song track loop (perc is my trusty old Kawai keyboard partially and a yammy v-drums). TRAX 5's swing is slightly different from TRAX 2 http://www.freshnelly.com/tunes202...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

massive is the word sandrine The playlist changed everything, to the better I hope. SO far so good ;) TRAX: : erase key (be that predefined note or MIDI cc or button on the sequarellel) + note in question to erase looks most suitable to me Yes the more I use the record feature, the more I feel this...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

Mega Update: I decided to poke out of my self-induced rabbit hole for a quick look around ;) A number of major changes to the Sequarallel have been implemented that greatly improves the way sequences can be controlled and opens up a whole new level of arrangement similar to a DAW sequencer. Play Lis...

Re: Which Sequencers Have This Feature?

Right now I am working on the Sequarallel module's TRAX sequencers and have already added audible scale creation that plays the entire scale quickly (while not sequencing) every time a note is added or removed. I plan to add the mentioned "preview" in the TRAX editor so (again while not playing) mov...

Re: Sequencer Step Numbering

I just had a thought. When recording a MIDI Layer (in the Sequarallel module) there is an optional countdown that displays in giant numbers (so can be seen from a distance) 4-3-2-1-mark. Mark is zero signifying the downbeat so it is displayed as "0" even though it's actually beat 1. Following the 1 ...

Re: Sequencer Step Numbering

That's true, and thine will be done.. Yes 0=off, works well for most adjustments and users & programmers both agree there But the marker situation I just mentioned is again to do with time. In science, time always starts at 0, which might be the real issue here. 0 is the initiator and everything aft...

Re: Sequencer Step Numbering

Wew! Thanks everyone for the interesting thoughts on this, as a result I have changed it back to 1 Yes I have also run into this before, and yes the MIDI standard is annoyingly bipartisan with CC's, notes and values starting at 0 but channels and program changes starting at one. I'm sure there will ...

Re: Introducing the Accord Melisma Chord Module!

There's also 1010music's synthbox (4 note polyphony), and just a (free) firmware upgrade away from their bitbox or fxbox. But their MIDI connector has the 'other' wiring. If you don't want to solder, MIDIXO from XOXO Modular comes in handy. Here's the TRS to TRS solution: trs2rcaMale.jpg trsF2rcaFe...

Sequencer Step Numbering

I have been working on a new midi sequencer module called the Accord Sequarallel. This module has 5 step sequencers along with a song playlist arranger and record layers. I have run into a dilemma as far as the on-screen step sequencer step numbering is concerned. Should the sequencers start at step...

Re: Introducing the Accord Melisma Chord Module!

This is really cool. I'm not sure if there are modular poly synths that accept 3.5mm MIDI in? That would be very convenient. Thanks! Yes there are plenty of modules/synths/samplers that have 3.5mm TRS, the only thing is polarity, some are one way (ring=hot), some are the other (tip=hot) which can b...

Re: Midi player

I think the Accord Sequarallel would fit the bill https://www.modulargrid.net/e/sds-digital-sequarallel The MIDI is recorded in (up to 100 "songs" in place of using SD card which will likely be a future 4HP expansion) , split into multiple loops, and modified in an arranger (Play List) then outputs ...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

Thanks! What I meant was if a Song Loop (MIDI recorded song) is being used to build Layers on to, especially if the Layer size is set to larger than the Song Loop, or APPENDed, or MERGEd, while it might work well with the present song progression in that loop, when the song is just playing out (no l...

Re: Super Simple Trigger/Gate Sequencers

The Accord Sequarallel module (8HP) would give you 12 gates/triggers (in percussion mode) from standard Sequencers (Up to 4 simultaneous gates per step, per sequencer, and there's 5 of those) and 100 "Songs" each with 8 Loop markers https://www.modulargrid.net/e/sds-digital-sequarallel it will be ou...

Re: Creating separate gate signals for selected pitch?

The Accord Sequarallel module https://www.modulargrid.net/e/sds-digital-sequarallel in percussion mode would do this with 12 gate or trigger outputs assigned to specific notes...plus it can record MIDI and loop it under CV control.. just a thought

Re: Introducing the Accord Melisma Chord Module!

To Melisma owners: I found a minor bug in the state of SPREAD when a new PROGram is loaded and have fixed it to prevent confusion with anyone getting familiar with the Melisma. Even though SPREAD Q=N the quantizer is active. This discrepancy resolves for that particular PROGram once changed to Y/N, ...
