Re: Custom MIDI controllers, who makes em?

It's super easy to make a MIDI controller with some basic knowledge of electronics really. With all the pre-written code / librariesnow you don't even need to know how to do that. I need to make one for my XR-18 mixer as I'm getting tired of opening the app to adjust a fader ;)

That looks great! Why not just 3D print collars to fit on those caps that what pick up the light?

Re: Where to find RGB button

I have played around (extensively) with designing a suitable RGB button and it's not an easy task! I think the best thing I came up with was button caps on a frame with other button caps (3-D printed) that lever over the switch (a 6x6mm) with the cap over a 3mm 2812 LED. There was of course light tr...

Re: Music from only random cv

All music follows a random-like workflow in the sense that you “play something” first and your taste either likes it or tries again. Machine-generated random can be helpful to overcome biases like always playing in F Blues or I-IV cadences or whatever. Personally controlling that random to me is th...

Re: Music from only random cv

I Like random, but "captured" random sequences so it can be repeated for a while before moving on to something different. Randomization to evolve a sequence is also great! Post quantization to western scale though is a must though.

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

ok thanks within a layer it would be nice to have a note FX applied to a MIDI ch, no? (or maybe the layer is already a single MIDI ch or could be a single MIDI ch ; like starting with an explode function to re-populate a MIDI song with different MIDI ch to different/according MIDI layers) Oh but th...

I bought Disting Ex mainly for the piano and other samples, but that one didn't work out for me.

I'd buy a piano module.
It would be awesome to find a VST - like piano module with all the tweaks & expressions. I'd buy it for sure!

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

correct, the actual response of the glide ENV The glide is purely linear in the way it moves from one note to another. But it can be up/down only and glissando, plus have an originator note. I tried the non-linear route and for most apps it was rather disappointing considering the amount of process...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

pretty cool indeed i love every parameter (change) tied to (MIDI) clock so i think that's a reasonable implementation 0-64 for small/short glides is just fine i think, which leaves more than enough numbers (65-127) for going wild -one could choose on some synths between exponential (1/2/3/4/5) or l...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

Portamento / Glide arrrrg! Well, I have been revising the Glide function (CV outputs) and because there's absolutely no standard it has been a challenge to try to match MIDI synths on the market with a rough timing standard on the Sequarallel. As a programmer, I can only assume that other synth prog...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

Here's a basic look at the new Play List... http://www.freshnelly.com/sequarallel/playListBlocks2.jpg The Playlist is a grid 64 Rows by 6+ (15 if fully used) columns. Each block, depending on the track, represents a Song Loop, The example is looking at 2 TRAX tracks. Each TRAX can have A-H, and when...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

i should have known you envisioned every possibility (and beyond!) isn't this essential in a MIDI-> CV module to be included in the QS ? Historically, we've always done a prelim document, perhaps to get feedback, perhaps to give everyone that's waiting a nibble ;) It's hard controlling the feature ...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

great news what i don't find in the QS is how the sequarellel will react/translate incoming MIDI chords (this is an 'issue' with other MIDI->CV modules) and if this behavior can be set/configured if a 4 note chord is played, and CV output to jack 1+2+3+4 (with the lowest MIDI note output to jack 1)...

Re: Beyond frustrated with my Mantis

I thought there were only 2 components, the PSU and the PCB/bus, guess it's hidden underneath the PCB. Hi BL, I had a similar but catastrophic, situation in the 80's. I used a spare bedroom in a house I was renting for my computer room. I had printers, big scanner, audio interface and patch bay (thi...

Re: Sequencers , lfo step modulators , microsequences / arps on steps

Couldn't resist a plug! The upcoming Accord Sequarallel can do per step Arp sequences as up to 8 step ratchet, or an Echo spaced up to 8 steps in 1/24ths resolution. It feeds to MIDI and CV outputs. The CV's can be single or stacked for poly and the arp steps can produce gates each or if aligns with...

What is a mains switch? Also, I'd like to point out that they sold me a replacement bus board. They didn't just send it. I still consider this good customer service, as I bought used and it's not a product readily available to be purchased. However, buying that and paying for shipping from Thailand...

Time to play name that tune! http://www.freshnelly.com/tunes2021/Sequar-NameThatTune2.mp3 So the story is that a Song can be recorded in, chopped up into loops, then SongFX applied to those loops that play in the Play List. Then a TRAX sequence or two, on the same channel as part of the Song (one wa...

Re: Building a sequencer (MIDI + CV + Gate)

ESP32 and some peripherals should do it
I've done very similar with the ESP1 and it's OK but the 32 is bigger and faster plus there's Arduino libraries for it & OSC
It's lacking in I/O but SPI or i2c is OK for the CV outs, just watch out for RF on the ADC if used ;)

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

great news, never doubted for a seconde is a single lane sequence constrained to (single) notes ? (but those are only in the TRAX sequencer?) I'm not sure what you mean, notes can be sprinkled around any lane and will be modified from the CC and if more than 1 note will scale upwards for a chord da...
