Re: Surround Sound

I usually use 4 in the studio + sub... sorta. There's several monitors and bass amp too but it would have to be a special gig to haul all that gear (I used to!) Recording is another matter: eventually to DVD as 5.1 (most of my stuff lately ends up as soundtracks for video I have an XR-18 for multitr...

Re: Introducing the Accord Melisma Chord Module!

Updates pending: The user chord feature is about to be added (still trying to figure out where to put it really) The "zero" offsets in Chord List QB and the PRG QB's is going to be changed to "1" as per popular opinion ;) A couple of other cool features will probably be in the next release including...

Oh yes, I forgot that information is readily available now duh! The last time I did that was before internet ha ha
Sweet sounds, really enjoying this clean reboot you recorded, reminds me of the early days but sounds actually better

Re: Which Eurorack Chord Gen. for Hydrasynth?

While I’m still within the return window on the 40 hp case, I really only have an extra 4 hp if I’m going to get the strymon magneto, so looking at all this I’m not really feeling it’s much better than just feeling out chords on the hydra. I liked the Accord Melisma idea but I wonder if the Midi wi...

Re: The Sequarallel MIDI2CV Recorder+Sequencer

"Up to 3 CV inputs configurable to control almost anything in the Sequarallel or any MIDI control" I have more than enough MIDI to CV available to me right now (Minibrute 2, Nifty Case, Disting EX), but the above quote from the first post would seem to indicate that this is also able (in an obvious...

Re: Select bus breakout

Hi os et al, I've been debugging some stuff with the ES breakout. Unfortunately in one setup (case with flying bus board) I get some bleed through of the MIDI in onto the CV Gate when driving from an external source. Meaning, I get short bursts of Gate events when sending MIDI. In another case (sol...

Haha! I like them! I have been using a 3D printer to knob those but these look so much nicer, I'm getting some BTW which ones? 5 or 6mm? I bet those 3mm's would work for 6x6 push button covers wow I bought the 6mm internal diameter caps. Good idea about the 3mm ones for tactile buttons, Sandrine. W...

Love the C64 re-use, you're talented man!
..and holy crap it sounds great too :goo: :goo: :goo:
It would have been cool if you'd have used an original display but I know the VDG would be a huge PITA hehe

Perhaps he should have used a union instead of those shifts which may be causing an issue: union z_tag { byte u[4];//lsb to msb "little endian" unsigned long uval; // example Serial.print(z.fval,HEX); } z; Can anyone explain to me, why I should maybe use a DAC for cv/trigger anyway, or if it‘s maybe...

Re: Don't order from Modular 8

All blame should fall on the CCCP, but I digress. As a company, we have had some bizarre shipping issues, to the US anywhere from a month to 4 days! Some orders we have shipped to EU have taken over a month, and one to Norway has been 2 months and still not arrived. No tracking (prohibitively expens...

Re: 4ms Row Power - High pitched 'whining' noise

There's a couple of possible solutions I would try: 1) Move any audio type modules far from the Row Power, 2) Make a shield out of tin or whatever for the row power and ground it there well (taping the inside to prevent shorts) It seems to me that the Row Power's DC-DC transformers emit a LOT of EMF...

Re: background noise issue

Have you tried increasing the ground connection from one case to another? Sometimes things have be isolated depending on the PSU (isolation xformer) but if you use an attenuator in your final (to go from 10V P-P to 2VP-P) that will reduce the noise drastically.

Re: Cheapest tap tempo module?

I built a tap-tempo into a foot pedal/switch sequencer I designed last year and discovered that a double tap stop is required. It could be a hold but I used a piezo foot switch. The reason for this is continuation and alignment vs. clock take-over. Following taps later on will smoothly align the new...

not just master, slave. you should think about master, slave, HI-Z. this is a common feature with SPI slaves. I'm sure you could implement something like that on less pins. more like i2c. Well it's not hi-Z really, but to logic level it is, multiple 47K pull ups (or less) and >1meg pull downs on re...

whoa! I thought this thread was about making a new standard like mungo. if you want to use the cv gate bus with an unknown number of modules in a mesh network with multiple masters then I really don't know what off the shelf protocol would work. you might need to build it from the ground up. No, it...

My point was about why not being locked into a topology is a benefit. Passive hubs are possible at the media and link layer with Ethernet. The typical implementation of Ethernet makes the links self healing and generally they all play nice together. Way way back when I started my career in networki...

Sure, what do you think would comprise a good SB SysEx? Implementing it in a way that other modules aren't confused by it may be a trick. Re: Select Bus

My point was kind of leading to perhaps an "accord" of sorts to upgrade the range of messages in select bus. Isn't that just MIDI? The thing wrong with Select Bus is that it uses a controller in a non-standard way to modify Program Changes to Program Stores and that might conflict with other usage....
