Re: Another beginner rack, but not a musician!

The Audio Damage modules are discontinued. You can find them used but it's something to know.

Four oscillators is two too many for a rack this size.

Re: Module Recommendations for Clicky Percussion

I'd look into the WMD percussion modules—Fracture, Chimera, Crucible. They're sorta-kinda granular sample players meant to emulate specific percussion sounds.

Also Bastl Grandpa, which will get you good 12-bit granular sampling in a small/inexpensive package.

Re: Modules with scale quantization: please let us decide, not you

I think this is a matter of interfaces and not of capabilities. For the type of modules you're talking about, scale quantization is an added feature, a tertiary capability, and not the main function of the module. These modules are designed to do certain things and allowing users to choose scale qua...

Re: Cwejman in 2020.

I'm popping in to say that—for no good reason—I was intimidated by the idea of purchasing through the Cwejman site for a long time. It certainly seemed more complicated than buying something from Perfect Circuit. But when I emailed them—just like the website instructs!—Maho was friendly and responsi...

To add to the discussion sputnik modular stuff. He’s moved on to different/better things but I kinda wish he was still around since I really liked his take on buchla over the verbose ones.
This is my answer too. Simple, elegant designs. Getting harder to find without commanding a premium yet.

Re: ALM Squid Salmple - 8 channel CV and audio sampler

My reading of the manual is that I should be able to record parts of a continuous signal into different channels if I use the channel trigger/button to step through the active channels while record is active. Has anyone been able to do this? Whether I'm using triggers or the button itself to change ...

Re: WMD Fracture

one quibble: I wish I could adjust the volume of the tick relative to the clap sound, even if it was via trim pot or jumper. it's a bit loud I think. Holding the trigger button until you hear the tick sound will make the tick louder than normal. Doing it twice will make it quieter than normal, and ...

Re: ALM Squid Salmple - 8 channel CV and audio sampler

I'm having an issue: When I've chosen a non-default bank set (e.g. Set USER in the directory) and attempt to "Load 1" into a channel, I'm unable to preview (func + encoder push) the sample. Func + encoder push does nothing: no audio or visual feedback. When I return to the default bank set, I can pr...

Re: Disapointing Modules

Pittsburgh Modular Analog Delay was a real bad one. Apparently they ended up with a lot of bad chips in those, along with some good ones. I had one of the good ones and enjoyed it while I had it, but I'd be wary of buying one off the used market these days. How could you tell? I have one, and think...

another +1 for Intellijel (Roland-y) filters, the aux input on my Atlantis gets a lot of use.

Re: Just got a Make Noise LxD and it doesnt sound right

hi lmixl if it were me, and because you asked, I would swap the Time Warp for an LxD—it's inexpensive, sounds great, and can be used as a VCA if needed. Your Maths—in addition to approximating an LPG!—can also slew voltages for acid-style effects, and imo that's a much more straightforward use of th...

Re: Just got a Make Noise LxD and it doesnt sound right

I admit I was not familiar with these Maths LPG-ish patches, which are cool enough, but I admit I'm getting a bit of a Tom Morello "I can make my guitar sound like a turntable!" vibe. It's neat but....it seems obvious you'd be better off with the commonly available tool more devoted to the task.
