I'm probably showing my ignorance here, but does anyone know if these panels would fit in a Eurorack case designed for 4U (as 3U + 1U rows), with the two middle / internal rails removed? For example, the Intellijel 4U cases or using 3U+1U end panels like these: https://modularsynthlab.com/product/4...

What is AREF -10? Why it's not -12 if I understand correctly In general (at least for a real product that you expect people to buy), case power should not be relied on to be particularly accurate or stable. If you actually require a specific voltage, use a regulator to get it. Especially for someth...

So, have anyone else experienced this? I have a couple of extra vactrols, should I change around and see if there is any difference? Or start checking other parts of the circuit? I had a different issue than you, but switching out the vactrol, even for one of supposedly the same type, made a much b...

Thanks for the replies. I built two simultaneously and they both behave this way so maybe a resistor value got mixed up somewhere. I'll dig around the pcb and see what's amiss. Are you using BC550 C s, and not A's or B's? The hFE on the A's is like a quarter of the C's. I don't know if that counts ...

With Elby EuroSerge and RandomSource 3U modules available, you should probably first decide what about Serge appeals to you? Is it just (just!) the functionality and philosophy of the modules themselves, or is it the physical interface of 4U panels and banana plugs. Both are totally valid reasons on...

Could someone post a picture of a populated, working board? This one is just kicking my ass for some reason. I'm getting a solid 9V or so out of the bandpass output and the trimmer's having no effect. I replaced all the ICs, and can only assume I messed up a resistor really bad somewhere, but would ...

Something sticking out like that, held up by only an M3 screw, sounds like it would get snapped off real quick. I would just go to the hardware store and get some hooks, put them in a scrap piece of wood, and fix that to the outside of your case (with velcro or similar). Don't overthink it, and try ...

Re: Cutting rails for a custom case?

I'm thinking of getting some used Tip Top Z-Rails, since I really want the threaded strip, too. The threaded strips are separate items from the rails themselves, and can be purchased separately. I used the Schroff threaded strips with vector rails in my case and they worked just fine. The term of a...
