Re: Stereo Processing

For stereo material that needs a certain amount of stereo integrity, a great filter I have found is the WMD Overseer which is a unique filter based on those found in DJ mixers. Can do some dramatic stuff without totally fucking up the sound (can do that too if wanted). Small panel footprint too. I ...

Re: Korg ARP 2600 availability

Interesting to talk about a 2600 'expander'. I started putting mine together before the machine even got here, and here's where I ended up: ArpExpander.jpg If I need to interface with the computer, I swap out the O'Tool with an Expert Sleeper's ES-8. If I want to use the monome grid, I replace the D...

Re: 1v/oct with Max/MSP

I just left it at the default - that seems to work for me. But yeah - anything that messes with the output "volume" will directly affect the output voltages of the ES device.

I tried with those :

The "ADATA" was provided with a Microgranny kit and works correctly.
So grateful for this post - I found this same ADATA card on Amazon, and just took it for a nice long-loop journey. Worked flawlessly (for me).

Re: Cv tools advise

CV Tools uses audio signals (through a DC-coupled device, like an ES-3) to send information from Live to your modular. That's how you get all those smoothed curves and stuff from computer to modular. The CV In and Out on your Keylab are a sort of built-in MIDI-to-CV converter in the keyboard - and w...

the sugarbytes is the most complete all in one glitch plug but it is also the most cliche anachronism used by no talent hacks. similar to ableton beat repeat. you can sequence the different effect on/off buttons in sugarbytes with midi on off note messages. this is why people throw random midi sequ...

Re: Ableton Live Advice

Hi- So I have been a heavy ProTools user for 10 years or so. But now I find myself making a different kind of music. Whenever I watch tutorials or just peoples videos, it seems they are using Ableton Live. So my question is basically how easy is it to crossover from ProTools to Live? Are they simil...

Darwin Grosse was already on Podular Modcast (ep 22), unless you mean that Grant Richter won't be doing the AMT podcast, or another Darwin?

I don't think they invented anything I mentioned, did they? They were just very good and very quick at incorporating and integrating ideas and technologies. Try to get a used macbook pro 13" 2015 model (A1502). The specs have not improved much since that iteration. It has dedicated hdmi, card reader and usb 3 ports. Expect to pay between 500 - 800 euro. Any of the three machines on this page Thanks for the tip, I'm on a 2011 MBP and its starting to get...

Really pay attention to the depth, though. I loved the 141-2, but it was too deep for my transition to a Space Station 242, and wouldn't even fit in the center row of my Goike when the Big Power Supply was in place. Really inconvenient, even though it was one of the most lively and musical ADSR's I'...

Also what is your preference on controllers? My own experience with the Qunexus is that while the premise is great the control is difficult due to the lack of tactile feedback. From this perspective the Linnstrument, Roli, and Continuum seem ideal. However, I think only the Roli and Continuum provi...

I love the way you are doing this, and think that individual modules, in a thoughtful but kind of random order, allows you to really get to know the device deeply. Re: Soft Samplers, favourite uses and which one

I find it quick to use (certainly vs. most hardware options - especially with something like loopback for audio routing) and fine sounding. Maybe I don't have that great of expectations fo...
