Re: Help me finish my first performance system?

This is just me so take with a pinch of salt etc BUT regarding the Neutron: It’s really excellent, especially at that price but I did not find it helpful in building a first Eurorack system for a few reasons. I’ll try to explain. Those 56 patch points are difficult to figure out because they’re jam...

Re: Metasonix R51 question and tube recommendations

ever since i bought a used R51 that had 12AD6 tubes in it i wanted to ask here some day if anyone maybe knows if the R51 ever came original with those from Metasonix or if the previous owner had put them in on his own and what this could mean for me? since everything sounds nice how it is and i want...

Re: BIA analog alternatives?

i once had a BIA and an SSF Entity Bassdrum side by side in the same rack for a while to help me decide on one or the other. for me the analog SFF entity BD was waaay too noisy and its usable parameter range was tiny and hard to hit ... yeah no shit sherlock its analog. the BIA has a way bigger soun...

Re: What's your strategy when looking for modules?

one thing i seem to do differently than the most people i ask in real life is that i actually read the manuals of modules .... even before i buy them =)

that saved me from the ocassional horrible user interface or misunderstood functionality, some designers just smoked too much.

can recommend! =)

Re: 3x MIA – Mixer – Inverter – Attenuator

Great thanks! and the middle hits 0 easily or there is any bleed? its not easy to hit, for turning a signal OFF reliably within a performance i would use a triatt/triplatt where you can find 0 fast and reliably. i prefer the 3xMIA for things i set and forget, for that it perfect and has a lot of fe...

hi, what is the voltage range of the module when there is signal input? -10/+10 or -5/+5? thanks
without input there is a +-5v per channel of which there are 6.
do you mean what its headroom for incoming signals is before they start to clip? i would assume something between +-10 and +-12v.

Re: The pain of getting brutal with your rack ...

its the same here, with every revision of my rack i pull out complex modules that, as dedwards had put it already very nicely require some brain space to recall shortcuts, menus, etc. and switch them out for simpler ones that are more immediate. And the voice count gets lower but the modulation capa...

Re: Did anyone start big and no regrets?

for what its worth: i started small and went slow but still ended up changing up my whole system after i got some experience under my belt. you'll never know what you need until you know what you need, for me it was discovering that the user interface of a lot of modules was totally not my cup of te...

i just wanted to mention that the Hydrasynth has some similar implementation which i also like very much. It seems we got over a certain threshold of technical abilities that does not longer sounds nice or is fun, time to make a step back ;) https://i.imgur.com/l1GxG2n.jpg https://i.imgur.com/eHxo42...

My pick is the SSF Muton paired with the Befaco ST Mix.
i see your muton+stmix combo and raise you a .... muton + levit8 combo .... 8-)

also:
PNW + ADE-31
A-133-2 + 3xMIA

i always forgot what the led colors on the qubit modules i had mean, so i sold them.

now i am an avid hater of remembering led colors.

same with mutable instruments.

PNW is cool for me tho.

I use one of the output modules you are already familiar with, a balanced NW2S:IO.
I am not concerned about the quality of the preamps.

Re: Audiointerfaces with lots of inputs

For those of you with 24 or 32 channel interfaces, how are you utilizing all of those inputs? I for myself have a few synths, drum machines and effect boxes connected directly. i don't want to use a big mixer with a lot of cables or patchbays because that would use up a lof of space and i am totall...

i had a mackie 1642 vlz4 to have aux sends and mix everything down to my 8in/8out rme fireface uc and i totally hated the sound of the mackie and going bigger/better takes up way more space that it uses up cables and money while still having crosstalk and stuff. got an antelope orion32+ gen3 and cou...

i would suggest a refurbished thinkbook so your kid can run a real daw and learn things.
if its just fun you are after the circuit might do the trick.

i am thinking sherman filterbank or a big enough audio interface so you wont need a patchbay? (i went a orion32+ to have the patching digital and do not need anything analog for routing/mixing, no analog = no channel crosstalk = clean multitracking) maybe a sweet little EQP-KT? those are just too ch...
