Re: VERBOS ELECTRONICS

The level input CV is added to the slider position and the center/width setting. (The sliders don't act as attenuators like on for example Make Noise.) So if you want to control the channels from 0 to max, set the sliders to 0 and set width and center fully counterclockwise.

Cool thanks.

Does this always require a CV signal in? Are there any LPGs that can just be struck to produce a CV envelope?
The Optomix rev2 does that, as does the Natural Gate.

Re: hilarious 1HP modules / ideas

I don't have a part number but I'm talking about the switches like the ones on the Triplatt. Seems like they just might fit.

Re: hilarious 1HP modules / ideas

Does anyone know if there's an SP3T switch that could fit on 1HP? Maybe the ones used recently by intellijel?

Re: VERBOS ELECTRONICS

Verbos Random Sampling is my very first Verbos and random module. I don't get it : it's written quantized output, but it's not pitch quantized? Does that description mean that for every trigger input a new CV is generated? Sorry for newbie question! If so, can you recommend me a quantizer which fit...

Re: questions about the Buchla 292 LPG design

Perhaps also check out this document: http://modular.fonik.de/pdf/low%20pass%20gate.pdf It shows the switch wiring and includes a resonance mod. I have translated the PCB layout into KiCad, and my first build of one is now ready for testing *fingers crossed*. I think R17 should be 4.7k unless I'm m...

Re: MEMS and The University of Illinois Buchla 200

On a bit of a tangent, I have a book here that's been pretty useful for Buchla fonts. I like to daydream about the possibility of this book being on the shelves at Buchla, because it has all the fonts Buchla used through the 60s and 70s. It even has the Lilith font that the 218 has for "The Electri...

Definitely check your sum jumpers. It's pretty hard to tell from the picture but I can see that CV IN is jumped to IN DI which is the 1V/oct on the bottom of the board. Here's the wiring and jumpers from the build docs: Here's the wiring from the build thread: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewt...

Why would there be a separate board for the spring tanks? I’ve never seen that before.

I've posted about this on the last page. This is either a bug or an undocumented feature. I've made it work again by long pressing button 7 then making sure button 2 is lit.

Re: Verbos Complex Oscillator and Vactrols?

Would anybody be able to provide a picture of the version with vactrols and version without? I picked up a CO and I can’t tell which version it is. Or is there a different way to identify? If you post a picture myself or wiggler will be able to tell you which one you have. It’s very easy to spot th...

Some progress on my Sequence Selector mod. In addition to making it possible to use it as a trigger sequencer, the stage select buttons now act as manual gates. The gate out is high as long as the button is held and the stage switch is set to ON. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZEAQuzvUB8&feature=y...

Re: VERBOS ELECTRONICS

I'd check two things. One is whether the ASR section is holding properly and the other is whether the fluctuating randoms work properly over the whole range of the knob. (The V2164 chips used by the fluctuating randoms can fry relatively easily. I've replaced mine with the newer SSI2164 which has pr...

It wouldn't let me. Probably too large for the forum engine.
For what it's worth, I've compressed it with ShrinkIt which only strips metadata and doesn't mess with the images themselves.

Re: Verbos Complex Oscillator and Vactrols?

Vactrols are just a simple way of making a resistor voltage-controlled.
The CO vactrols are controlling the mod index and the mixing of waveforms in the timbre section.

I've made a comparison of my 292 clone (with handpicked Excelitas vactrols) and my Natural Gate for anyone interested. I've tried to match it as closely as possible. The Buchla is panned slightly to the left, the NG slightly to the right. Sound source is a Verbos Complex Oscillator. https://soundcl...

Re: Make Noise 0-Ctrl

The pressure output of the 0-Ctrl has a slew applied to it (not sure how it works in the circuitry, but it sounds like that). Could you maybe show this on a scope or in a demo video? I’m thinking of getting one but that might make me reconsider. EDIT: Ah, I’ve found one. Seems like a rather long de...
