Well I finally built mine up! I waited quite a while to order the proper switches and vactrol, oops. I've used 0805 SMD resistors and capacitors for all the resistors and ceramic caps. They work perfect over upright resistors. I used BC337/BC327 for the transistors, because that's What I had around....

I wonder how hard it would be to implement standard MIDI input in the code? I'm pretty sure there's a library and you would only need a few components, like an optocoupler, a diode and a couple resistors.

Sounds great though.

This looks very excellent. I've always wanted to build a guitar pedal with the teensy that did this. I will definitely have to pick one up for my eurorack!

Sending in a donation from Canada! Definitely my fav DIY synth forum, even if it gives me more GAS then beans do. I read all the negative comments, and I don't care, I have no reason to believe something fishy is going on, I just hope it stays alive. But if this is a continuing problem, I hope somet...

looks good!

PCB panels seem to be the simple/easiest way to go.

One idea might be to add a jumper on the board for the 5v supply. Put it one way if you have a 5v bus in your rack, and put it the other way for 5v from the regulator.

Sorry I’ve gone a bit quiet; a mix of gigs to play at and trying to layout a eurorack pcb!! I think I can get the pcb within 8hp, but I still need to sort out the power… I’m guessing that I can’t rely on there being 5v on a bus (it seems that 5v support is not widespread from what I’ve read?) I wou...

Re: Great work!

I'm very pleased that the code worked for you, to be honest that's the bit which I was most worried about because people have different setups/programmers. Which programmer did you use (I used to use an Arduino Uno configured as a programmer ( like this I use a USBtinyISP programmer with a ZIF adap...

Well I just couldn't wait! I redid the schematic in Kicad, and added a 5v regulator so It can be powered by 9v batteries or whatever, but mainly I wanted to make it single sided so I could etch it. I ended up needing one jumper wire (not too bad). I used the Arduino code and it compiled and uploaded...

Thanks for all the replies! Its great seeing other peoples thought process'. I might try this one out on a breadboard.

Keep up the great work, and when you come up with a eurorack version I'll be one of the first to want one! :yay:

The arduino code needs a bit of a tidy-up because I moved away from using Arduino. I've also been using a 'high voltage' programmer which has implications about the use of the ADC0 pin "Moved away" meaning you are using atmel studio or something else? or are you still programing the "arduino" langu...

Any chance you are going to release the schematic? I'd love to see what you've got going on! although it doesn't look too crazy.

It does sound pretty rad, and lately I'm seeing more and more tiny85 synth projects.

Turn all the rungle pots down. turn all the external input/modulation pots down. set the rungler switch in the middle. set the VCF frequency all the way on. set the VCF resonance at about 3/4. OK listen to the pulse or triangle output for VCO A (VCO 1). change the frequency knob and verify it chang...

I finally got the resistors I was missing in the mail yesterday and built up my Benjolin. I played around with it for a while, but I don't really get it. I watched a few youtube videos and they all explain different versions which either have different labels for the controls, or have different cont...

So I need some help with my clock gen tile. It acts a bit funny, as in Im not sure it remembers its settings, and it glitches at times. According to your "building the clock tiles" pages, the pullups and pulldowns are a bit confusing. The image seems to state there should be an input pullup and pull...

I just want to say, from someone who has built A LOT of kits, your kit was PERFECT. I really enjoyed building it. Your layout also, all the resistors the same direction? CRAZY. Those beautiful curved traces, wow. Really though, it was a joy to build. I like how it performs too, keep up the good work...

Unless you are desoldering chips then I dont thinkg you need a hot air station. I don't use one.

I currently use a DIY soldering kit from dangerous protoypes webstore: HERE
