Re: Pictures of your techno rig for inspiration?

Here's what I'm working with. The top three rows is a Pittsburg EP-420 housing Verbos and friends, most of my synth voices are in here. This is raised up about 4 inches. The 7U underneath is a custom case I'm having built, 140hp wide so it will fit well with the EP-420. That'll be for the drums, mix...

Re: The PERFECT Knob torque

Verbos sets the bar, for my fingers anyway. Such a pleasurable experience. And actual knobs vs pot shafts for CV attenuation, except for the fine tune controle which IMO should be the giant knob, but I digress.

Schlappi too. Just got a Angle Grinder and I get the same feels.

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer

+1 on that idea! At first I said "wait, there's three MIDI CCs available on each stage?" Obviously I don't use MIDI much either :hihi: Maybe a dumb question...you could have multiple tracks with stage gates assigned to the same output, and it would operate like an OR combiner? That would generate so...

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer Teaser

I'm having trouble deciding between the Launchpad X and the Mini mk3 for Vector, and I'll probably use it with 1010 Blackbox as well. Velocity and aftertouch on the X (as well as note mode with built in scales), but maximum portability on the Mini MK3. Anything else I'm not thinking of that might r...

Re: Euclidean Circles or Zularic Repetitor

do you tend to keep the modulation slow and specifically timed? Something that only hits on the 4th bar let's say and creates a fill? Or do you just let it take 1 or more of the children wherever it pleases? With the Zularic, the knobs and CV shift the pattern for that channel, which I guess is ana...

Re: NE Desmodus Versio

Does the Desmodus Versio finally get to studio-quality levels like the Big Sky? Or is eurorack still way behind pedals? Or we talking apples and oranges here? My opinion is its apples and oranges. To me, DV is absolutely studio quality, but it's a sound design tool, not an end of chain reverb. I gu...

Re: NI Maschine+ standalone groovebox

I think we need to get confirmation on just how stunted they are. I'm surprised that despite the the myriad of YT chats and announcements on this thing, we don't yet know for sure. Especially that they are now taking people's money for pre-orders. But my hype on this is slowly growing. I've never be...

Re: Mutable Instruments Marbles Random Sampler

What I would really like — maybe there’s a module out there already — is a switch like Branches but with one gate input and, say, five outputs, with random selection between them. Maybe it would recognize how many outs were plugged in, or there would be a dial or something. Seems like something tha...

Just thought I'd mention for anyone following: The Launchpad X is $50 off through the end of September. (Seems most retailers are participating.) Could be useful for anyone looking for a Launchpad to pair with Vector. I'm having trouble deciding between the Launchpad X and the Mini mk3 for Vector, ...

Re: Mimetic Sequent

After reading your comments, I'm considering buying it instead of the 2HP TM. The idea here is to get a Beat(and Measure if needed) from the Qubit Pulsar, a CV in from a bassline (Mother 32, with an offset). If I understood well, it should be able to add variations to the bass line, which, passed t...

Re: Sample and Hold sag / pitch droop.

So I've had an intellijel 1u noise tools in my case for a while now, and up until now I only really used the white noise output occasionally into a filter and vca. Tonight I had a play around with the sample and hold circuit. I found that the pitch doesn't seem to be "held" properly. I did a bit of...

Re: New poly synth/synth company - ASM Hydrasynth

As already mentioned, unfortunately the Mod1 and Mod2 CV inputs do not support 1v/o tracking... I was dreaming of the ability to send a CV sequence to the HydraSynth while in Chord mode (I know it's on the keyboard version only)... so the root of the chord would be the incoming CV (i.e. the incomin...

Re: ADDAC701.REV2 VCO

No qualms, I really like mine. Octave switching, good mix of waveforms, tracks really well. It's my 'basic' module in the case, sitting next to a Verbos HO and a SSF ZPO so it usually plays the role of the modulator. But I could imagine having a few of these in a small case as a main voice.

Re: WMD Metron sequencer

Popped in to say how much I’m loving it. My beats are better than ever! I’d been using a combo of algorithmic (Euclidean, Branches) and preset (Grids, Zularic) but with Metron plus Volteras and Axxent... I’m still using PNW, Grids and Zularic as well, and I’ve had a lot of fun resetting them with M...

Re: NE Desmodus Versio

Im excited for this one. Love love love the dual function knobs where one half does one thing and one half does another. Just like a dj filter, very intuitive. I wonder why more eurorack companies dont do that. Ughh, I’m the opposite. Almost every knob goes from minimum to maximum, but then you hav...

Re: Chord oscillator for pad purposes

I have a like/dislike relationship with my Chord v2. Its convenient, offers a fourth voice, and has the mode where they share the same pitch/fine knobs but allows for separate V/Oct modulation (4 separate V/Oct inputs). So you can drive it with Harmonaig if you don't want to use the built in diatoni...

I don’t have either of these modules but whenever I have this type of issue I check gate amplitude and gate length. Maybe the sequencer is expecting a longer gate length? Manual should specify.

Re: Intellijel Springray 2?

I have a v2 and I agree the EQ and limiter make this version more controllable and better sounding. But we're talking about a mechanical thing here, not a DSP that can take a few code changes to dial in, so your environment makes as much of a difference here. I have it in the lower row of my EP-420,...

Please be informed that last runs of FX AID use D-shaft knobs for controls 1-3 and T18 shaft for D/W knob. Previously all were T18 shafts. Fine by me, it let me repurpose some Noise Engineering knobs! Disclaimer: No Noise Engineering modules were harmed in the making of this. Integra Funkitis has p...

Re: Reverb module for techno kick

For kicks, I like the Saturated Reverb in the Black Hole DSP and it appears in the Pico DSP as well if you're HP-challenged. One of the parameters is a high pass filter, so I usually dial that in to leave enough but not too much low end. Keep in mind that saturation is tied to the high pass, but I d...

Re: VCF for ambient / drone

I'll toss one in that seems to be underrated, or at least under-discovered. ADDAC 603 Triple Bandpass. I've been using it a lot for drones. Feed it three waveforms, overdrive, distort, mix, with enough CV to keep things moving. Or feed it one audio signal and process it three ways. https://www.addac...
