Re: Help with basic limiter/VCA at end of 9v 'synth'

On a completely unrelated side note could anyone point me to where could learn about the insides of studio pre amps like neve's, dbx and stuff like that? Things you'd find in a studio and run your vocals or instruments through. I wish electrosmash.com covered more stuff, theyre explanations are inc...

Re: Ridiculous sounds, that we still love...

Somebody mentioned the Wilhelm scream. There's another scream that's used in comedy movies that gets me every time. It sounds like an approaching enemy ship in Star Wars. Maybe it is just a weirdly processed Wilhelm Scream or the creators riffing on the Wilhelm Scream meme. ::shrug:: Ah, yes, the H...

Re: Sequencers with ramp control

Looks like it's just a gate/trig sequencer? :hmm: Ah, right. That page doesn't make it clear that the potentiometer associated with each comparator stage sets a CV that is sent to the CV bus output when the stage is chosen. The build doc is more revealing as to its many capabilities: "Bartos Flur i...

Re: Sequencers with ramp control

Have you checked out the Frequency Central Bartos Flur II? The CV bus makes it a great sequencer driven by arbitrary ramps.

My guess is it converts from time code vinyl to MIDI and CV clock signals, so modular sequences can be beat-matched to records.

Sum your gate streams and some bipolar sample & hold noise in a mixer, feed sum into a comparator.

Adjust levels to probability taste.

I'm pretty sure my wobbly pot issues are an anomaly, probably the assembler was down to their last dregs of solder on the roll. I'm gonna open it up and give things a tune-up this weekend. Koma have also sent me a UK PSU, which is really nice of them! :tu: It synergises well with the Field Kit. As f...
