Re: Jomox ALPHA BASE

Would certainly buy one Alpha Base, the only thing that bugs me a bit is the weird decision to limit sample playback to 48Khz 16bit, such a weird decision. If he was gonna limit then it would have been better 44Khz 16bit, 99% of sample packs out there are in this format, would avoid the hassle of c...

Re: Yamaha drops machine-learning driven FM patch morphing on the MODX/Montage!

I can't watch that. It's like being assaulted by a door to door vacuum cleaner salesman. You think this guy is bad? You should subject yourself to a Doctor Mix video. :zombie: Yep I know. I'd much rather watch cats. So you'd rather watch clowns like NoBeats who basically know nothing about sound de...

I love this box so far , but is there anyway you can shorten the length of a drum when layering ?
I think even the Mpcs don’t have this , annoying when you want a certain sound as a transient.
MPCs can shorten or lengthen samples, layer by layer- the level of editing is much deeper than the 707.

Re: Torso T-1

So you own every sequencer except the Pyramid and you think you know all about it huh? So tell me exactly how it's different from Pyramid? You do know Pyramid has euclidean sequencing, randomization, massive chords, MIDI effects, poly rhythms etc etc. right?

Re: Torso T-1

Spend the extra money and get a Pyramid- has probably every feature this has plus 10 times more. It's one of the best sequencers (if not the best) made to date.

Re: Tempest vs. RYTM...shoot!

We'll see which one reaches classic status. The pads on the RYTM are junk- FACT, not opinion. Argue that all day and chase that tail . Tempest can do analog drums and sounds much better than RYTM- FACT, not opinion. Elektron users know the best drum machine Elektron ever made is the Machinedrum...

Re: Tempest vs. RYTM...shoot!

Let's talk facts- at default the drum sounds in Tempest kits are positioned on the pads like you're sitting in front of a real kit, so as far as accurate finger drumming, Tempest crushes RYTM- and the pads? -Light years ahead of RYTM. The synth capabilities?- RYTM's is laughable compared to Tempest,...

Re: Jomox ALPHA BASE

I had an Mbase and MBrane I used to drive from a Machinedrum as my drum setup for years. Was excellent. Using a Rytm now and the analog voices sound like garbage compared to the Jomox units. I use it mainly as sampling drum machine but I get use out of the toms and dual vco a lot. But the workflow ...

Re: Jomox ALPHA BASE

Alpha Base is almost the king of analog drum machines- Jurgen's attention to sound detail is unmatched imo. Roll and flam functions could be improved drastically and note nudge is badly needed to create more organic beats with a bit of 'human' feel- and also to do production tricks only possible by ...

Re: New AKAI "FORCE" standalone MPC / grid controller

I'd be interested to hear some positive reviews as well. The NAMM video showed off some really interesting features but not too many people seem super hyped about this machine. Unfortunately the dude in the NAMM video almost seemed to imply that these really aren't selling well. I love mine! It is ...

Re: Analog Rytm MKII

The old Elektron philosophy when they made 'magical musical instruments' is long gone- and they didn't evolve since then at all. you've overlooked Digitone, then. but I'm inclined to agree overall I'm not FM-crazy, and I have a Montage so if I need FM synthesis, I have it. There is absolutely nothi...

Re: Analog Rytm MKII

The RYTM Mk1 is rock solid Dont like any of the grey machines. On that note, they should go back to making them like the MnM and MD. Totally agree. I jumped off the Elektr-whocares train once I realized they ruined themselves with Overboard. They haven't done anything innovative in a decade now. Mo...

anyone hoping to add this to your mix and use it to sequence midi gear will need to deal with a crippled capability unless youre only using midi in the simplest way. not only that, the developer avoids any talk of midi. in fact he doesnt say much at all outside of the beta testing group on FB, even...
