Re: Replacing Sid chip in the Sidstation

If your c64 have a 6581, ie the old breadbin, it will work. If you have a newer flat c64 which usually carry a 8580 there will be problems with sample playback and you will miss a channel. Plus the 6581 is driven by 9v whereas the 8580 uses 9v.

Re: serge cgs dusg troubleshooting

What happens if you change the trimmer for that side? Been a few years since I made one, but I do recall that if the trimmer is at any end position it could act as locked up.

Also, I could be completely wrong.

Did you get the Bass++ pcb from oberkorn? If so, really nice to see it finished, I soldered that pcb in 2010 or so. Oh, and really nice panel, 4U?

It would work and adding a buffer as J3RK recommends would probably be good practice. But do try it without any buffer and see if it suits your needs. 100k as input attenuator is ok. On my Red Square that I built years ago the 4024 in the sub osc looks exactly like that , I didn't even bother to con...

I'm in need of 3 Thonkiconn jacks to finish a build.

Can trade for more or less any part you need for your builds. Like LM13700s, LM3900s, TL072s, 4000 CMOS chips or just a selection of resistors / caps for a module.

Oh, I didn't know BF245 are end of line.

Sorry, can't help you with any replacement. I though I had a few spares. But when I now checked it seems like I only bought 10 back when I built the module and only one left.

ok, I have the old Bridechamber PCB. The only bludgeon that one I now is that the silkscreen is swapped on the output / GND pins. About the S&H and Noise module, I would suggest you add a 500k pot in place of the 470k resistor on r27 /r34 to easily select the needed value, unless you already done it...

Hopefully finish my YuSynth ARP VCF. Only thing thats missing is wire up the panel and test. Next in line is to test and wire 2xASDR and 2XVCA. I only have one panel each for the ADSR and VCA but I figured I could build two pcbs at once since that is faster and order the missing panels when the pcbs...

I've built most of the YuSynth modules using panels from http://www.resynthesis.shop and pcbs from Bridechamber and the rest was etched by some guy in Germany. In the end it won't be that much cheaper than actually buying directly from https://www.synthesizers.com when you take every little bit need...

Thanks! The original design is in fact "Fuck art, lets play with synthesizers". But it felt more appropriate with building than playing. For me that is what it's all about. If I ever wanted to make music, I could have started with software synths on my c64 25 years ago.

Interesting read about changing pot values in a voltage divider circuit, http://charlieslick.blogspot.se/2015/09 ... -when.html

Mouser part no: 534-4335. Strangely, I can't remember on which module I used them on. No spares left so apparently they were ok.. :hmm:

I would suggest you make a list of modules that you are interested in building. For each module, scan the bom and create a master document that sums all parts needed to make your modules. You will quite easy notice what parts are needed and which ones that are worth to buy in 10s or 100s or just 1s....
