Re: Portal by fractilian
Really nice, atmospheric. I could work to this and similar, elevator music for the mind. Thank you for posting!

Re: Entry 5U System
A 5U legend that used to frequent this site dropped me a DM indicating that these modules (VCO/VCF) are very underrated and worth a look: https://www.electro-smith.com/modular

Re: Entry 5U System
Welcome! I have been pondering a smaller 5U setup as well with the same price range. At this point I think I am going to with new .com versus waiting for what I want to show up on the used market. So, I ended up with the following design that comes out to around $2077.00. 1 x Q174 MIDI/CV 2 x Q106A ...

Re: Ensoniq Lovers Unite
There was a gent from Italy selling VFX carts on eBay last year with expanded storage. I forget the exact amount but there was a rotary knob on the cart that would allow you to select banks that each had the capacity of a normal cart. It had at least 16 banks. Kinda kicking myself for not picking on...

Re: Behringer 909 announced
maintenance is a thing I'd rather not have to deal with. always something i try to avoid myself. i had some really great vintage boards that kept turning into one thing after another. Totally agree, I was burned by and OB SX and ARP Odyssey as a young'un. I have a JD 800 sitting in the garage right...

Re: Behringer 909 announced
Pondering selling my Boutique 09 & 08, jumping on the Behringer train for the same. The lack of individual outs on the Boutiques kills me since I rarely use a DAW. The size and battery power on the Boutiques would be missed though... IDK. The RD-9 sounds awesome.

Re: Behringer VCS3
I’m not opposed to buying one it’s more that their stuff feels like shit that makes me hesitant Yup, we can only hope the build quality is high. I have two of their mixers that are built like a tank but when I checked out the Deepmind 12 keyboard at the local Guitar Center (on a lark) it felt prett...

Will definitely pick one up should it materialize. They dropped hints about a CS-80 clone a while back, where the hell is that?

Awesome post, thank you for sharing. Makes me want to replace the 101 I had years ago but the prices are typically pretty high. Need to hit more yard sales.

Echoing above, perhaps the Arturia Polybrute? I have the Matrixbrute and the Poly's routing/mod matrix is very similar, a lot of options in there.

Just throwing this out there but the SCSI[2] on the display sounds like it was last trying to access SCSI device ID number 2 when it had an issue. SCSI devices have a group of DIP switches (or shorting plugs) on the back that allow you to set an ID from 0-7. You then daisy chain the devices with cab...

Agreed, I am really digging that sound. It looks like it's built like a tank. There are a couple on Ebay right now with converted 1/4" in/out. Thank you for sharing!electricanada wrote:That is indeed a good-sounding drum box.zamzam wrote:are there any in module form

I accidentally tipped a glass of water onto the top of a Roland S-550, right where the vent is (yes, lesson learned). Powered it down ASAP, pop'ed the hood, dabbed up as much as possible with towels and let it dry out for 24 hours. It was still working... YMMV. The XP may have been in the trash for ...
