Re: The Elektron Model:Cycles Thread

How is everyone getting on with the Cycles now that some of you have had it for a little bit? It's really great :yay: Easy to use, sounds pretty good and original. I have done a lot of patterns already, some unfinished and a few I really enjoy jamming on. I like the limitations of the instrument, m...

Re: The Elektron Model:Cycles Thread

I dont see any mention of glide or portamento in the manual. Is there any? Or would you use the LFO for this?
Seems like a sweet sounding box, with fun hands on control.

Re: Korg Wavestate

I ordered from Andertons, because they say they'd have stocks in february... until they changed it to end of march.
I have a feeling it's now a common trend for online shops to leave bogus dates to get as much pre order as they can... :bang:

Re: Sequential Pro 3

That's a cool mono synth if you dont have one yet. But I think it loses a bit of the lovely all digital DNA from the pro2. There is lots of special things that makes the pro2 unique which gets lost here : 4 notes paraphony (with it weird but cool enveloppes). No more 4 notes chords... It has 3 filte...

Re: Korg Wavestate

Seems like it does indeed modulate some of the fx parameters :yay:
From the musicradar review:

"There’s a wide variety of emulated delays and reverbs included too, and most of the effects can be modulated from the synth’s main mod matrix."

Any reason to think fx parameters AREN'T mod destinations? The manual doesn't have a list, but it seems all the other knobs can be used as destinations.
Thats what I hastily assumed from watching the different videos. But hopefully it does !

Re: Korg Wavestate

Oh my some of these samples sound so 80s/90s/romplers :hihi:

The lane sequencers looks interesting.

Unless I am mistaken, the effects parameters are not mod destinations.
I think any synths with fx, should have their fx part of the synthesis and so have their parameters as mod destination.

I think it sounds wonderful. I really like the stereo path through the entire voice. I hope synth manufacturer keep expanding on that direction. It looks like a very playable synth where you dont end up foolin around with parameters for hours, but find a good sound and enjoy. At least that's what I ...

I like that case 140 hp with 3A sounds about right.
Sliding nuts though...

And I think they should have put the plugs in the middle instead of up there. Because if you want to plug something in the second row and your first row is already full it will be a pain.

Trying to understand how the 4 delays work on the PRO2: Are they parallel or serial? I would think they're parallel, because the delays dont sound like they go through each others. BUT... the feedback values seems to be serial. Because if you put a single delay with a value of say 70 in feedback it'...

I’m guessing under $500. The original Minilogue was $500 when it first came out and that was “true” polyphony. It sounds good, the quality is probably ok, but the design feels a bit rushed. The sequencer could have had the 16 steps laid out, there’s plenty of space there. The arp could have used so...

I agree with you guys that the mother has that extra shine on top in the end.
And I am keeping the mother32 over the Crave.
But for someone that want a first analog semi modular, i think the Crave is hard to beat for the price.

I believe the Crave is pretty much of copy of the mother 32 (apart from the vco, but it still sounds pretty close)
