Re: Which soldering iron to get started?
Aoyue have a number of soldering solutions to meet a range of budgets. I would suggest something like an Aoyue 937+ soldering station from pcb-soldering.co.uk would be a good choice on a budget, circa £60. I have a slightly older version of the same thing and this has lasted over four years albeit I...

Re: Oscillator leakage into Journeyman Filter (5U Variant)
Just to confuse the picture more, I built my journeyman filters a while back (Issue 2 PCBs) and used Builders Guide V2.0.3, in this C2 was given as 22uF, so I have made the change to C2 from 22uF to 220uF, it is therefore possible I would have noticed the same improvement if I had moved from 22uF to...

Re: Oscillator leakage into Journeyman Filter (5U Variant)
Thanks for the response Tony. I have experimented further and the Resonance level pot very clearly affects how much of the bleed through is heard. I've changed C2 to 220uF on both filters and although it doesn't eliminate the bleed through it has almost completely gone so in practice is a non-issue....

Oscillator leakage into Journeyman Filter (5U Variant)
I've noticed recently that there appears to be some tiny bleed through of my SVCO oscillators to my Journeyman filters, without any connection from the Oscillator outputs, to anything else. I have a small rack of Oakley modules that includes three SVCO oscillators, two journeyman filters and a 904A ...

Re: Crimps and Housings
The crimps may fit, however if you you look at the Product Details for the housing it provides a recommended link to stock number 680-1792 for compatible crimps. So, I would play safe and use the recommended product.

Re: Erica Synths MIDI-CV interface - Problems
I found a similar issue and updated my copy of the calibration instructions with the following once I'd worked out what was going on. Follow the calibration instructions up to ..... "Continue until you have perfect tuning along all octaves." The last but one line on the calibration page then says "P...

Re: How to keep the sequencer in "tune" with a separate oscillator
I recommend the DIY Sonic Potions Penrose Quantizer on the output from your sequencer. This is Eurorack format to match your Oakley sequencer and can be obtained from Thonk in the UK. I would recommend you get the full kit because the LED switches are only available from a small number of suppliers ...

It's on the download page for the MFOS Eurorack VCLFO on the Synthcube website, same place you order the PCB from.

Re: Using FPD for paper drilling template?
Absolutely yes. Select the print options, 'Print in Wire mode' and 'Print reference points'. I attach the template to the panel by cutting it out with a modelling knife exactly on the outside lines, sticking down with Scotch tape especially over each drill point. Use a metal hole punch to mark the c...

Re: Noise level outputs and use with RM 4014 to generate percussive sound
Thanks Tony for the clarification, I had used the CV input to the Noise Filter. I've tried again putting the sequencer CV into the HPF and I can get it to work using the method you describe but it is very quiet so I'll stick with the Clipped output from the Sample/Slew.

Re: Noise level outputs and use with RM 4014 to generate percussive sound
Thanks for the informative reply Tony it is very helpful. I have re-tried using the Noise module White Noise output and connecting to the RM4014 as you describe and I can now get the percussive effect I was expecting, the noise output from the Sample/Slew module also works. The output levels are ver...

Noise level outputs and use with RM 4014 to generate percussive sound
I've been putting together a patch to emulate the ubiquitous Pink Floyd track 'On the Run', why, because it has to be done and I was keen to get something sounding close to the original. I'm pleased with the initial results particularly now I'm using the Diode Ladder Filter which gives a very simila...

I observed the following whilst performing the update : After sending the "trigger" file the Slide and Power LEDS were lit, I don't know if this is deliberate to...

Many thanks sequentix for taking the time to follow up on this, it's an old piece of code so it's brilliant you are still willing and able to support it. I look forward to hearing that you have been able to resolve the problem successfully.

Re: TM3030 freezes upon receiving multiple MIDI notes at once
I have noticed a similar problem when the TM3030 has a midi connection to my Korg EMX-1. I haven't done an in depth analysis of the problem but I suspect it's related. The TM3030 locks up if the midi is connected and then the EMX-1 is powered up or if the pattern is changed. I suspect it sends somet...

Re: DIY Mutable successfull builds hall of fame
Hi subdrift, in answer to your question I hand solder all the components on the board using a round tip iron. I have a x5 dioptre lens in an LED illuminated angle poise lamp so that I can see what I'm doing. I have used solder paste, applied with a pin across the legs of the chip and a hot air solde...

Re: DIY Mutable successfull builds hall of fame
That encoder works fine, it does require careful mounting to the front panel and soldering to the PCB because the Bush length (the threaded part of the shaft that you fix the front panel nut to) isn't quite long enough. The PCB just required a little squeeze toward the front panel to get enough thre...

Re: DIY Mutable successfull builds hall of fame
I have tried drag soldering and generally use the technique on all the ICs except the processor chip. I tried unsuccessfully to drag solder a processor chip and have since adapted a solder paste technique for these.

The Oakley Discrete Ladder Filter is excellent. http://www.oakleysound.com/dlf.htm
There are sound samples on the site. It can be built as a 1U core module or 2U full width.

I.m not quite sure what you want pics of. Unfortunately I didn't make a build record, which I've done for some builds recently, so I can't show that. If it's just pictures of the Euro Sequencer and boards then there are plenty on the Oakley web site and in the build documents, http://www.oakleysound...
