Re: Gear suggestions: moving away from Elektron
one has a smaller footprint, more function buttons (i think), more cv jacks (i think), a much better price, and the same quality sound engine. im personally a force user and dont think ill need much other than it once its updated. force is pretty close to what ive been looking for all these years. i...

that depends on your modules and how you have them configured. you can leave space in there for modules to breathe

i think force doesnt do this without stopping the sequencer. not a deal breaker for me tho.

Re: New AKAI "FORCE" standalone MPC / grid controller
im not sure you can use force like a looper, but i dont use loopers. deluge supposedly has looper functionality but im still put off by the rest of what i mentioned above: tiny buttons, one midi output, no screen, NO METERS, key combinations rather than dedicated keys with legible lables, etc etc. i...

Re: New AKAI "FORCE" standalone MPC / grid controller
yeah deluge seems like a sensory deprivation exercise and the onboard dsp algos are simplistic to the point of frustration. the only important thing it has on force is sd streaming. anything else is effectively overshadowed by its lack of a screen and use of tiny hardware features. clips to me are e...

Re: New AKAI "FORCE" standalone MPC / grid controller
I want to like Force, but am finding that the menu system makes doing tasks longer than I want them to be. It's a really powerful sequencer/sampler, but I even find the sampling tedious. I prefer to keep my sampling and sequencing separate, one device for each. Though maybe if Force had an actual '...

Re: Polyend Tracker
That's a painfully forced analogy. You know you can just keep using Renoise? :hmm: In my view it's more like this: you're used to your aging but versatile Toyota Camry when you notice the release of the new Toyota Supra. You love the looks, you see how much more immediate and tactile it feels, you ...

Re: Gear suggestions: moving away from Elektron
my cirklon was built around 5 years ago. i found it to be very cryptic and convoluted yet a gorgeous hardware. most of its users tend to be hopeless snobs or hobbyists suffering from ocd, with hardly a one actually needing such an unnecessarily complicated status symbol of uber-nerdery GAS. after th...
