Re: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT
Books have traditionally been VAT free, but e-books certainly used to attract the full rate. That's true. Another one of those stealth taxes... Also the free shipping threshold, which was £99 when I ordered a couple of Doepfer bits between Xmas and New Year is now £135, although the shipping cost i...

Re: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT
Some interesting comments here but perhaps it’s better this doesn't turn into a discussion of the UK leaving the EU as I'm sure that will result in the thread’s deletion. It's intended more as a catch-all for the complications (and learning curve) of the new world we find ourselves in. I think that ...

Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT
Quick heads-up for the unwary: Thomann prices to the UK no longer include VAT. You'll need to factor-in an additional 22% charge as a minimum. Interestingly, neither Bax's or Schneidersladen's sites show a similar change at the time of writing, though that may alter after the New Year break or when ...

The end cheeks on my MIniBrute SE became doghair collectors. Biogdegradable plastic is all very well but I'd prefer it to last for more than a year.

Re: Behringer: practices, ethics, morals and legitimacy.
If I was a shareholder or boss at Yamaha/Korg and found out that you as an employee had arranged giving money away without getting at least the same value in promotion or with some handy tax dodge, then I would demand you be fired and even sued for compensation. Apparently there's no such thing as ...

group molded with a plastic 'living' hinge? Like we see in many other low cost keybeds. The Roland K-25M is one of those hinged affairs - a key snapped-off mine and I was told to bin it. I'd like to say I was pummelling it with some fervour but I was playing a gentle Morricone-esque ditty. Maybe th...

Re: Monooprice 25 key midi controller
@Licudi MIDI out enough? Or does it have to have MIDI IN also? I posted a panel layout of my 1049 module recently in a DIY thread. It has more than you've asked for. Sometime next year it will become paired with several different width KBDs, one of those being 4 octaves. In a 3620-like enclosure. M...

Finally bought a new Perfourmer Mk.II with CV/Gates. Now to see whether it replaces my 'austerity' 2003 Perfourmer or if I end up keeping both.

Re: Monooprice 25 key midi controller
I dislike the keystep touchpad for modwheels - what an unplayble design, those flat panels for modulation. Agree with you there - I'm always triggering the ribbons on the KeyStep by accident. I'd really like a DIN-MIDI/CV-equipped controller with an on-off switch, Moog pitch and mod wheels and at l...

Re: ID these knobs
Many thanks for the info. Vermona used off-the-shelf Rean knobs on its later DRM1s and Perfourmers so I assumed the metal-knobs were standard parts as well.

Re: Monooprice 25 key midi controller
Design values are low in the industry but that looks particularly hideous. :foul: Can't be much fun to play either except for those who sees a musical keyboard as no more than a series of on/off switches. Is it really better value than a KeyStep 37 for £100? https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=60...

Polar Noise (now relocated to Rotterdam) is back online; here's the link to the shielded cables page where you can find their short 5cm (2") cables: https://polarnoise.com/product/shielded-eurorack-patch-cables/ Arno says he's still UK-based in the site's shipping section. Guess he missed that bit.

Anyone able to ID the manufacturer of these knobs? They were used by Vermona on a couple of its products from the early noughties. Bax has 7.5% off everything. Couple of bargains - KeyStep 37 for £100 and Pro 3 SE for £1420.
