Re: Chris Huggett R.I.P

I met Chris many years ago when he was trying to get OSC off the ground. I had a few Wasps and an OSCar, but I don't recall the Spider being his work - anyone know for sure? Chris has been widely credited with the Akai S1000 design too, which I thought was more the work of David Cockerell and Tim Orr.

Re: Moog goes Eurorack:Satan complains of sudden chill Mother-32

I don't know if anyone here has bought a new M-32 post-V2 firmware (unlikely I imagine), but if so, did it come with an updated manual? I ask as the Grandmother Dark has one and the M-32's online V2 manual supplement doesn't really cut it for all the new shortcuts. In the meantime, Anton Anru has pr...

Sending everything through the same filter and VCA seems a bit limiting. Do you agree?
Yes. The obligatory Moog filter is perhaps not best suited to the Subharmonicon in any case.

Roland A-01K. You can still find it if you hunt around - I got one the other week for £110 brand new. 25 keys, CV/gate out, simple sequencer, DIN MIDI in/out and USB. A4-size footprint.

So as a beginner on a budget, who wants to build slowly.... I've been looking at : Behringer Model D + adding a Sequencer Moog Mother-32 Behringer System 55 Arturira Micro or Mini Brute (Just so I have something that makes sounds immidiately plus a keyboard for the rack later) A Mother-32 could dri...

'little Greta' is pretty much spot on btw, unless a future where you're either on fire or underwater sounds good to you... I agree that the Grandmother is an excellent starting point; it sounds very good, is easy to use and expandable. It's also the best value of the current Moogs.

Bought a new Roland A-01 in PMT's autumn sale for just £111 inc delivery; thought these underrated Boutiques were long gone. Icing on the cake was the included K-25m, which was not even mentioned in the listing.

Re: Roland TR-06, TR-6s, TR-606 (cloud)

A good CR-78 recreation needs to emulate the workflow as well as the sounds. The button combinations, ability to mute voices, and original patterns are a big part of that. Metamatic, Heart of Glass and, yes, In the Air Tonight would have sounded very different without them. In Foxx's and Collin' ca...

A proper recreation needs to have the original preset patterns and mutes not just the sounds. They're in the original manuals anyway, you can program them [snip] What are "original mutes"? This is the first boutique that has given me gas. Want somebody make a CR78 , and no the TT one isn’t close enough for me. I thought the Boutique series was dead and buried but the TR-06 spec looks good. A Boutique CR-78 is long overdue as long as it isn't half-arsed like the TT- or proposed Behrin...
