Re: CRAP Programmer

This look amazing! Do you plan to sell the PCBs? Should “Active Stage Pulse Output” perhaps be changed to “Active Stage Gate Output” if the gate output remains high the whole time its stage is active? Similarly, should “All Gate Output” be changed to “All Pulse Output” or “All Event Pulse” if it out...

Re: Alisa 1387 filter / 1377 waveshaper project

If a builder only wanted to use the main circuitry PCB, not the Eurorack control PCB, what functionality would be lost? LED drivers and Accent circuitry? Yep, LED drivers and Accent circuitry. Some mixing / attenuating is also done on control PCB. Would it also require input summing resistors to be...

Re: Alisa 1387 filter / 1377 waveshaper project

Good work! Accent sounds like an interesting feature. If a builder only wanted to use the main circuitry PCB, not the Eurorack control PCB, what functionality would be lost? LED drivers and Accent circuitry? Would it also require input summing resistors to be wired off-board? I don’t know how final ...

Re: Alisa 1387 filter project

Yep, this probably will be Euro / MOTM kit. The addition of the VCA is a good idea. Only filter / VCA this time, entire voice would devour too much time... Great! A fairly compact PCB with mounting holes in the corners and maybe overlapping Eurorack and MOTM PSU connection footprints would ensure t...

Re: Alisa 1387 filter project

Watching this thread with great interest! Is the intention that you will develop PCBs for this? If so, a few polite suggestions/requests: 1. Please include PCB mounting holes so that those of use who don’t build Eurorack can still Mount the PCB parallel to the panel. 2. The addition of the 1387’s (o...

Re: PROGUE - Analog mono synth

This look interesting!

There are some elements that are perhaps more easily identifiable as Rogue or Prodigy features from the front panel,
but it’d be good if you could detail where each functional block of your synth originated from.

Re: 24db Filter Serge

Was just chatting with a friend about this. I don't think many people know this but the variable bandwidth filter has a perfect 24dB LP when the cutoff frequencies aren't skewed. That’s because it’s the LP output of SVF1 that feeds SVF2, right? Then the Variable Bandwidth output is taken from the H...

Re: CGS514

Another point worth mentioning, is that some very interesting modifications and improvements of CGS circuits exist (very likely) only because the schematics were available for folks to see what was possible. A few examples: •CGS59 Programmer Sequencer - The addition of Skip/Stop/Normal switches, sim...

Re: CGS514

Elby's choice not to publish schematics is based on their view of how the DIY landscape has evolved; I won't try to repeat it here, but it's an interesting point of view vis a vis 'traditional' DIY that was heavily reliant on schematics. That's a topic for a different thread. Sorry for going off to...

Re: Which system/module to start building? (aiming at the bananas)

Keen to hear more about this if you’re able to share any information. Was gonna be Synthplex, then Superbooth. With both those closed, the next 'synth release reveals' will likely be Behringer's plan to do a 'Billich SB' from their Willich headquarters at the original SB dates. Still no decision ye...

There is one other banana capable format coming, but the current world crisis has delayed that a bit. And the developer is still weighing DIY vs factory assd.

The CS-80 has two identical and independent, single-VCO synth engines in parallel per voice.
Perhaps better to think of Deckard’s Voice as a CS-50 voice, or half a CS-80 voice.

JesperP Thanks for the explanation. I had been thinking about getting a VCFQ for my banana-equipped Eurorack. I had thought about wiring everything off-board and adding a Q CV attenuator whilst I was at it. This seems like a lot less hassle though... Did the VCFQ or VCFS require any traces to be re...

Steffcorp VCF-12 It’s an ARP 4012 ladder filter with some extras. Its got the usual 4-pole LP output, plus there’s also a 2-pole LP output and a Slope output. The Slope circuit is a VC-crossfade from 1-pole LP to 4-pole LP via 2-pole (I think...) BP in the centre. It overdrives and self-oscillates ...
