Re: EMS Synthi modules

Cool I'll look into the AS stuff. Thanks. The Matrix II looks cool. I have a Sequential Switch Matrix, but it's only 4x4. And yeah I figured it'd be impossible to go for a 1 to 1 recreation, I just want that wild, unhinged electric sound. I borrowed a Serge Res EQ for a while and it was kind of in ...

RNA Reel

I started making this a few months back at the beginnings of the pandemic. This song is about a bunch of viruses musing upon their victories and defeats while having a bit o' craic. And RNA being the mother of us all.

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer Teaser

A few people have made the request to have the Vector UI follow the play head, and I don’t know if I’d like that, i worry it could cause trouble when editing to have the UI take you off the ‘page’ that you are currently editing. It doesn’t take much to quickly flip through pages as it currently sta...

Page 4 of the v1.4 manual: http://45.56.118.96/VectorUserGuideV1.4.pdf EDIT: ran it through its paces with two kick drum sounds so I could hear the onsets clearly. It is exactly as described and provides instant Reich. The crossfade ones are simply more dramatic. With some well-placed resets and mo...

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer Teaser

Here's Vector sequencing a Blofeld, the modular and a Synplant VST, as well as all the drums (all modular). Nice track! Definitely has a Mouse on Mars / Oval vibe to it! I'm on the hunt for a Vector, I'm pretty sure it's the next addition to my system. Have you (or anyone else) noticed any issues w...

Does anyone have the oldschoold Retroverb? And if so, how does it compare to the Lancet version?
I've had the VSR, The Retroverb Lancet, and since then, sold them both to get a DSR-3. It's way beyond both, I use it as a stereo mixdown on almost everything..it's the best.

Modzak. Courtesy of two rows of Mutable Instruments and Make Noise patched with matching cables and aided by Elektron. All very original. Pleasant Modzak though.

Re: Birdkids ”Raven” ?

Definitely the pandemic situation is making things difficult for us all, despite my complaining, if not for being out of work, I would definitely buy one of the two Ravens put up on the Big Cartel site. Absolutely, the thought is appreciated. If they are still there when I am "theoretically" suppos...

Re: Birdkids ”Raven” ?

I did have a chance to get the Raven (and bateleur) 2nd hand, ultimately I decided against it. It did not make a lot of sense to me to go out of my way to own the modules of a company who's interest in the format was only in passing. Personally I prefer developers who actually want to make a go of ...

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer Teaser

Sequencing a drum machine with drum tracks: anyone have any luck? I'm trying to use midi to sequence some of the voices of a yocto via Vector's drum tracks. I assigned the notes to the parts I wanted (I guess you'd need multiple drum tracks to use all the voices in most drum machines..), tried every...

Re: Verbos Mini horse

I've been wanting something like this, but I just don't feel safe buying Verbos stuff - too many reports of faulty modules, shitty support, not to mention the steep asking price for pretty much all of them. Is there anything similar out there apart from Pressure Points? I've been eyeing the Korb Mo...

There's a fun project! Replace all the sliders with knobs!

Or map a midi controller like 60 knobs to all the sliders...not with an original 2600, of course.
Then it will become a 2500 :)

..+ a few hundred other differences.

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer Teaser

I appreciate the feedback re: Cirklon vs Vector. Is anyone using the Vector with the Mutant Brain? I don’t really have the dough to shell out for the expander. I have lots of random bits around the studio that to midi to cv like an Akai Force, System 8 and OP-Z with the Oplab module. I would really...

Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer Teaser

For me, it seems like Vector is the more accessible, pared-down Cirklon. You can probably do almost everything the Vector does with the Cirklon, just fine. It's just that the (more limited) options the Vector offers, are on offer in a quick format. For instance, ratcheting has its individual page, ...

kind of surprised by your reaction here tbh! this thing sounds like an evolver driving a camaro and wearing pit vipers Ha I like to keep you guessing. And myself for that matter. Re: FIVE12 Eurorack Vector Sequencer Teaser

Is the current maximum sequence length 16 steps? No, you can set it to 64 somehow, but don't remember exactly how now. It's in the manual I think? My first few hours with it was quite confusing as well, but things started to gel after a few days, and I could use it blindfolded now. :) It's in the g...

Para, no sync, no ringmod and only one LFO if playing 4 note para. I can see why they added two chorus to get some movement going. Hopefuly it can round robin to get some wobbly movement or this looks like a Model D + chorus pad. It makes me want a Dreadbox Abyss even more :guinness: I wanted an ab...

I know, this is a tired subject; so many threads about sequencers, and people's favorites. Still, though, I'm having trouble sifting thru the data: Excluding modular-style mono sequencers, I'm looking for a nowadays-version of polyphonic MIDI/etc sequencers. Totally out-of-the-box, no computers per...

I feel disappointed in this module, just a few basic patch points and it's missing essential stuff like the upper & lower level/brilliance controls; ring modulator; chorus. Also those sliders must be pretty short. The sliders on a real CS-80 were too short and made dialing in a sound very touchy. T...
