Re: Thoughts on Euro LPGs, please?

the lxd is a few hp less but i find the optomix much more playable in my small case, between the mixing & built in knobs it does more than the lXd. but lord how i miss that 12dB channel!

Re: Circadian Rhythm vs. Beatstep Pro

the beatstep pro can sequence 2 channels of pitch, the circassian rhythm is a gate sequencer only, so youll need a big dc-coupled mixer or a pitch sequencer to get melodies from it

Re: What should be the 2nd Module (after Plaits) - MATHS or Disting EX, thoughts?

This of course is a personal preference, personally i prefer a balance between the two things. I would never suggest maths in a small system. why not? its utility to hp ratio is more useful in a small system than bothering with 2 separate serge style function generators, a mixer, a logic module & a...

Re: Logic/ss?

sounds like youd want a couple of sequential switches, run your vcos into one, then take the common i/o from that to the common i/o of the other, and run the switched i/o to your filters, then sum the filters in a mixer & i guess send to a vca then your mixer/output

Re: Doepfer Vs all the rest

doepfer modules are not as skiff friendly as many others, in both depth and width. i havent bothered with many of them since i only play a 6U but , the 4x4 matrix mixer is maybe my favorite module, and the PLL is my favorite ca4046 module ive played. i wouldnt recommend all dopefer unless youre look...

if you need it to hold at the top, why not just send a gate / high voltage to the processing input of the control channel? you could just dial ⬆️ the unused offset channel to start the ramp

three sisters pam's new workout lxd r*s req eq erbe verb i loved the sound of the lxd, and its the module i most regret trading, but switching to an optomix was such an improvement for me. knobs *&* mixing are huge ⬆️grades in a small case imo. but that top channel! wonder if they could make an opt...

Re: what's the longest you've had a finished synth for?

it was 13 months ago i put a doepfer 181 in my case. bad luck i suppose, i just bought a noisering to take its spot (and that of my 196, going back to a prime number of modules in my case feels far more comforting than i oughta admit)

if its just a switch it wasprobably a sequential switch, like the doepfer 151 or wmd (?) sequential switch matrix.

Re: Utility filters...

i use the pittsburgh filter for a lot of utility duties , since its got all the svf outs and can switch its vca to output instead of res , allowing manual and voltage control of level, which comes in handy when sending, say, audio rate signals intended for cv use out of the rack

Re: I/O between Eurorack <---> mono/poly

the portamento in is for a sustain pedal , not an active signal. the arp trig is real easy to trigger, and even the main trig in works from euro levels. just flick the switch if it aint workin right
i havent had any problems sending back & forth between my euro & mp-4

Re: Mixer module question. Two Inputs, One pot. Choices?

are you gonna be using it more for audio or cv? if audio is the primary use, a crossfader approach seems natural, but if its gonna mix cv, having an attenuated input and a 1V/oct input seems more useful to me
