Re: ALM Squid Salmple - 8 channel CV and audio sampler

Fantastic update! Respek. One thing I noticed while playing with the Squid the other night, pitch shifting ch1-5 seems to have a very slide glide whereas ch6-8 via v/Oct seemed tight. Is this correct? check the Quant options for ch6-8 under Quality, if you pick NO you get a smooth sweep: Quality - ...

Re: Squarp Rample

The latency thing is a little "eh", but mostly I fret about post-launch support, and responsiveness to support enquiries for faulty units- neither of which Squarp are famous for. I'm still feeling a little lairy after the way the Hermod was left to rot, with "no plans" for updates surprisingly quic...

Re: Squarp Rample

How loud is it? Couldn't find the info on squarp website. I don't know the exact output DB but it seems significantly louder than the Squid Salmple which I always struggle to get loud enough with all my other modules (I have to turn all the other down). Rample seems to hold its own. I also find the...

Re: DivKid RND STEP

It's a great module. Previously I had the 2hp S+H and didn't expect it to be so inaccurate (most noticeable with CV intended for pitch). So this is a great replacement with very little droop. One thing RND Step has in common with the 2hp module is that it's deep (45mm). I wasn't expecting that. It w...

Re: New ALM module - mmMidi

Likewise. So many clock inputs in Eurorack do not take 24ppqn - probably more so than do. I'm running things on such a small rack that I don't have space to put a PNW in there just for that purpose.

Re: Any thoughts on the Roland System-500 505 filter?

Anyone getting bleed with theirs? I have audio going into In 2 but when there's no jack going into Input 1, the sound of Input 2 comes out of Ouput 1. I have the left filter set to VCF1 and the right filter set to VCF2 and looking at the block diagram on the Roland site both outputs should not come ...

Re: Announcing ALM017 - Pamela's NEW Workout

I'm getting strange behavior with PNW when the square wave (and maybe also other waves) has a Phase setting other than 0%. In my example I have Channel 1 outputting a square wave set to /4 with phase set to 50%. What should happen is the square wave is triggered halfway through it's cycle, and it do...

Re: ALM Squid Salmple - 8 channel CV and audio sampler

Yep sorry I cant remember exactly why the Squid does not let you attenuvert :( ! It could of been a simplification usability wise or maybe more likely just missed. I will investigate and if possible add in to firmware update. That would be amazing - fingers crossed! Yeah, Pam's does it so well (CCW...

Re: ALM Squid Salmple - 8 channel CV and audio sampler

I see in the manual the inputs only accept 0-5v — so there's no way to adjust the CV inputs negatively. I'm wondering if there might be an update which enables the CV matrix to work like the CV matrix on Pamela's New Workout? On Pam's it is a very elegant solution — a simple CW or CCW turn of the pa...

Re: New ALM module - mmMidi

I just picked up the mmMidi for a Pallet case/MPC Live combo. It's a perfect solution. I do wish there was a way to get a 1 or 4 ppqn clock out of it but there's plenty of ways to work around that. Agreed. I want to use it to clock a Steppy but I can't clock divide it down (via Steppy) to anything ...

Re: Qu-Bit Chord v2

Traded emails with Brendan from Qu-bit who confirmed that the firmware should allow loading up to 8 wave table WAV files to each of the 8 banks by using the Longform config setting. There seems to be a limit in the firmware that’s causing that behavior to not work as expected, but their team is loo...

Re: New ALM - 'Boss Bow Tie' - Voltage Controlled Switch Module

Unfortunately, the module doesn't quite work as well as it could/should. Example patch: if I send a stream of gates to the BBT (from a PNW) and a square LFO (also from PNW) that alternates between outputs 1 & 8, triggers will fire from any of the outputs in between even though they shouldn't. If I c...

Re: triatt quadratt alternatives?

For me, MISO from Tiptop wins. 4 channels of attenuation/attenuvertion along with positive/negative offset. Even better though are the additional 3 outs that combine channels in different ways. So 7 outs in 10hp for $100. Bargain.

Re: Squarp Rample

I just want to say I’ve only ever had excellent customer support from Squarp. And even though the Hermod wasn’t hugely improved, it has seen some great updates. Though, I do find it performs significantly worse when used as midi slave (timing issues).

Re: Grayscale Permutation: expanded Turing Machine + Voltages

I'm not sure of the exact voltage - I had the output of POS going into a quantizer and noticed it picked a different note (1 note difference) when NEG was in either position. I'll test again when I boot up the system. :tu:

Re: Grayscale Permutation: expanded Turing Machine + Voltages

I have a Permutation and Variants. One thing I've noticed from Variants is the output of POS is being affected by the output of NEG. So for example, I have POS running into the pitch of a VCO. When I turn the small knob for NEG fully up the tones coming out of the VCO change. When I turn it down the...

Re: ALM Squid Salmple - 8 channel CV and audio sampler

I was playing with the Squid Salmple last night in a patch where I had multiple CV assignments, adjusted sample settings (speed, loop mode etc). I powered down thinking this state would be saved, it wasn't. My bad. However, it got me thinking... to save this state do I need to save it as a new bank?...

Re: Gate delay devices - why so few and unavailable?

The 2hp BRST does gate delay, you just turn down the repeats and use the speed knob to set the delay. It probably doesn’t do the other things you’re after though. But it is cheap. The Quad Gate Delay is probably more in tune with what you’re after and you can unsung it from a clock. But, I don’t rec...

I love it. For the hp it offers a lot of functionality. I find it less fiddly than ALM’s O/A/x2 and it allows for some very creative CV tweaking. I have 2. :sb:
