Re: Standalone filter or Eurorack filter

The fact that the serge res eq doesn’t have any cv inputs that’d be “wasted” by being standalone also points to this choice. :hyper: Plus if its not working how you want it you can resell it easy - or rack it up with the others.

That would be very much appreciated if you have a chance :sb: Results using the integrated voltmeters: With cable tips unconnected or connected to GND there is already an offset voltage of 17mV on both channels (sometimes 33mV on the 2nd channel) in DC mode. The device autocalibrates eve...

I have one ADALM 2000 laying around in my shelf. When I find time to update the firmware und Scopy software I can ran some comparison tests against my PeakTech 3360 and Owon B41T DMM.
That would be very much appreciated if you have a chance :sb:

Re: USB oscilloscope for synth

Looks like the ADALM 2000 has two DC capable voltmeters with 1mV display precision: https://wiki.analog.com/university/tools/m2k/scopy/voltmeter Taking the +-20V input range and 12bit ADC will result in a measurement resolution of 10mV without autorange (40V/4095 steps ~ 10mV). Thanks for that. Hav...

Re: USB oscilloscope for synth

Funny I was just about to post a similar question. Anyone know of any out there that can also give (fairly) accurate readouts of static DC voltages? For instance to calibrate an ornament & crime? Budget around $100-150. Was looking at gabotronics xminilab but it's not clear if this would do the tric...

Anyone running an owl (or software) that has any thoughts in either direction on the available reverbs? Have been wanting to get my hands on a more experimental dsp based reverb in euro but can't quite justify the price right now (edit: in the vid he says diy should be less than/around 200 euro. Tha...

Re: 1U Tiles - Did Intellijel bribe all these manufacturers or what?

XODES screw hole cutaway in intellijel sized tiles seems like an obvious solution, no? I guess unless you absolutely need the space on the pcb for pulp logic height and can't include a 10 pin power header for whatever reason but I gotta think that's a very specific limitation that can be overcome. O...

That all sounds good to me. Honestly, ANY kind of midi looks like a bonus!

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying how impressive this is shaping up for your first project, and thankful for your generosity in making this available for so little $$$£££€€€ :hail:

Re: Plinky. Non-commercial sampler/granular polysynth

I'm tempted to wait for the midi (and cv?) expander before putting this thing in a case as I might like this to interface with a midi controller (or maybe use plinky as a midi sequencer) and euro but keep it standalone. Any possibility there will be a case design (could be roll your own 3d printed) ...

Anyone know if the old Malekko Invert Mix is (reasonably) accurate enough for v/oct signals (obviously using the summed and not the inverted out)?

Re: KSS Diode Patch Cords. Keep it Super Simple. Get -or make- some!

I've attached a diode AND circuit. Most modules have an output resistor. Patch any of these to a mult with at least 4 jacks. One open jack is now your AND output. Add two -or more- diode patch cords with the red end free. Schottky type are best, but the others work too. These are your AND inputs. T...

Re: KSS Diode Patch Cords. Keep it Super Simple. Get -or make- some!

Rex Coil 7 turned me onto using diodes for passive clipping/waveshaping in another thread and since then I've been wanting to hack up a 19" rack 1U panel and put a bunch of passive simple circuits in there. Maybe a guitar pedal circuit or 2 that could be powered off 12V. Diode OR is an easy one but...

Re: Importance of compressor/limiter in feedback path, and options

Also, as mentioned above, throw an attenuverter in the path - sometimes flipping the phase can have a dramatic effect. thats an interesting idea, should work with an RM/4quadrant multipler and throwing in a +-V squarewave LFO......? I had some time with the modular tonight and tried a couple things...

Re: Importance of compressor/limiter in feedback path, and options

Feedback patching is the best reason to have eq in the rack I think. Music Thing has the small Simple EQ which I dig, there's also a 2hp Mineq by Zlob - both are cheap. I've had similar experiences with the tanh3.. fun as an effect but tricky to dial in to cool-out feedback loops. I don't mind no cv...

Re: Synth Tech e520 Hyperion Stereo Audio Processor

Looking forward to the update. Headspace is really interesting, at times sounding like a fun reverb (for instance, about 1:06-1:10). Is this just a product of the sound "moving" around in the stereo image? Curious if this would do anything interesting with 2 waveforms that are very closely tuned (an...

Re: Soma - LYRA-8 DIY Kit

I hear you.. for me the headphone out is not that important, and will be less so on your big ass expanded version when I get to that :) On my 4 I used cheapie angled pin headers from tayda and pre-made dupont jumper wires. I was a little sketched out by that (there are a lot!) and worried the connec...

Re: Soma - LYRA-8 DIY Kit

I emailed Vlad about this when building my Lyra 4 and his reply was "The second pin of 5.1 ohm connected to the enclosure - it's the grounding" I attached to my metal case and got noise on one set of headphones and not in another. Either way - yes should be connected to chassis ground. I'll say that...

Re: Synth Tech e520 Hyperion Stereo Audio Processor

Sounds great. I assume there will be an unquantized mode, too? That said, would also love if you could somehow implement a slew on one of the CVs for v/oct (ie. knob at 9 oclock is a fast slew, slow at 3 oclock), especially for chord mode. Maybe possible to calculate separate slew rates for differen...

Edit: I should mention, for trade (ideally) or a couple bucks for shipping.

I tried running some more complex audio though it, like drum sounds. it was kind of interesting and might be useful for folks who are into harsh digital noise sounds but not something i mess with. Tried some basic enveloped waves and was finding the effect to be more subtle than I expected... simil...

Got my panels and PCBs, they look great! Also, thanks for including links to the parts in the BOM, that's a nice touch. Just to be clear - wherever there is a PTSM connector on the expansion pcbs, these are where we run wires that take the place of the components on the main PCB, right? I'm thinking...
