Re: Modifying Ardcore v1 to support Expander?
I had the same question, Dan at one point told me that there would be a way to modify the V1 to support the extender, but that seems not to be possible. The only thing I can think of is to trade my V1 for a V2. I have yet to put that in the BST forum ...

I’m glad to hear this. My first modular was Blacet, and it is still great stuff!

Re: Blacet pot upgrade? (2100, Miniwave, Super VCA)
I was playing with my Blacet system last night and noticed some pots getting really “scratchy”. There was mention above about instructions on the Blacet site for how to lubricate the pots with WD-40? That sounds odd to me, and I could find nothing about that on the site. Perhaps there is generic pot...

Re: Retail orgone accumulator.
If it was my comment about the name you are responding to hope I did not offend you! Strangely enough your note about the PSU and booting is a problem I am seeing, so I am looking forward to your fix. I have been pulling it out of the case and poking at the wires, which does fix it, but I suspect th...

Re: Retail orgone accumulator.
:mygod: I guess I should say a little more? I have a DIY OA from quite some time ago, and just got back into playing with it. I was so excited about the programmability of it that I actually went and connected a USB adapter to the back of the case it is in so I could write my own code and easily loa...

Not only is Subotnick ... Whoever compiled that list really doesn't care about American music. I just looked at the Ubuweb site, and noticed it was "reputedly curated by a Brazilian student". Perhaps the issue you notice is a bit of "Yanqui go home"? If, dear moderator, I have stepped over the line...

I found you can replace almost every opamp with a TL071. The only exception I found was the one in the heart of the Ring Mod. I also replaced some 5172s with pn2222 and that also worked fine, and did a JFET swap on the OSC sync board also. I think you can find my comment about this in the V2 build ...

So I've read quite a bit about issues with the slew rate of the LM301... just curious if anybody has managed to try their TTSH successfully with TL071s instead of the LM301s? If so, is there any appreciable improvement in sound, or improved performance/stability of the other non-audio circuits? Tha...

Filter behavior
I notice that if I set both the Filter initial frequency slider, and the ADSR amount slider to the maximum I don't get as loud a signal as I do if I back one or the other off a bit. Is this normal, or do I need to redo the adjustment of my filter? I hope I win a prize for the most minor issue raised...

I think he's saying he used the Learner to control Silent Way plug-ins directly via CC (no OSC involved), and so generate CVs from CCs. SW DC gives you a very direct way to do this. If you don't like the output range, you can stack them up to scale and offset the CVs. Or even just turn down the tra...

Thanks for the input guys! I found that the parameter automation was very painful in Logic, so I used the Learner. At first I thought it was not working, because I did not see the message history I expected, but it seems it was working (is the empty message history a bug?). Currently I have used it ...

It must have been the 5459s. The power polarity was correct. I swapped out the 5459s for 2N5486 (which have very similar specs, if I am reading the data sheets correctly, which I very well may not be, since I don't really know what the relevant measures are). For good measure swapped out the 3904s f...

Silent Way and Linnstrument
I recently got Silent Way, and I've been able to use it to send Pitch and Gate info to my synth with the SW Voice Controller. That works great, I can play the Linnstrument or use the new sequencer feature just fine. Fun! However, I'd like to be able to send the Y and Z dimensions as well (Timbre and...

I only double or triple checked the power polarity, so that might be it, I was possibly in too much of a hurry, trying to get the very last bit done. The Gate Boost I had just put in worked super quick and easy. Maybe I just wasn't careful. I got a packet of 2n4125s from Tayda. While waiting for the...

I mentioned this in the main v2 build thread, but thought I could put it here as well. I never could get my sync board to work. It kept killing the 2n4125 on the input side sub-boards. I am wondering if the 2N5459 I got from somewhere or other are bad, and maybe I should swap them for 2N5486 ? That ...

Some rambling thoughts
Finally got mine cased and done. It has a couple of useless switches on the front, because I could not get the $#%&&@! Osc sync to work. It blew up the 4125s on all three oscillator sub boards at one time or another. The good news is I found that BC558s work fine in there (just turn them around). Sp...

Is the shell of the reverb also grounded? I had bad hum until I did that, now it is ... basically acceptable. Trying to address / reduce reverb hum on my TTSH, wanted to get some recommendations on where to go next. As it stands, I've put shielded cable from the main board to both in/out on the reve...

I now have the filter working a bit, but I don't see anywhere near the correct output voltage. It is very weak. Quick update, I finally got the filter working. I now have the filter working a bit, but I don't see anywhere near the correct output voltage. It is very weak. Any advice for someone starting out with a 6 module Wiard system in 2016? Don't waste money on a custom case before you know what you are doing and what you really need. You will change your mind, the only variable is how soon. Often this is before the case is even finished. Alternatively, pick a c...
