microtonal multisamples

micro bitbox and Disting EX can do multisampling. Totally awesome. They should both be able to do CV-based multisampling. Awesomer. But does anyone think microtonal CV-based multisampling would be possible? How could that be implemented? Especially if multisample algorithms are going to plug in 12-t...

Re: 1010 Music Bitbox - Sampler/Looper

Hey all, I can't figure out something. What is the rationale for the upcoming Bitbox micro to have a couple of really useful features that aren't going to exist in the full bitbox mk2? The Midi out and increased number / flexible assignment of outputs are a huge deal to me. Why handicap the more exp...

Re: Hemisphere for Ornament and Crime

these are great so far! One thing I already realized just by him putting the AD and ADSR app combinations together is that you can use an AD to convert/delay triggers to gate. Also recent experiments made me wonder - is the dual probability skipper app redundant since one can use brancher as a singl...

true true, he could have the development branch private also? Still it burns my buns. I have the CP and it sounds great, but it looks like I stupidly purchased based on developer promises. I've been part of this community for four years and have yet to be directly affected by dishonesty. Most develo...

just make this biz open source there isn't time or energy. Being upfront and abandoning development seems like it would sell more modules than 11 months of "please wait another month I promise!"

Re: Prok Drum modules

Seems like it wouldn't be hard to program the inverse logic. Use default firmware if holding down button or no SD card is present, use custom presets if SD card is present and button is not held down. My "master" power button for modular and other instruments is very far away from my Prok. I am conf...

Re: Pittsburgh Modular Double Helix Owners: How do you like it?

raising the dead on this thread. I have a Snazzy FX Tidal Wave that is sometimes a little too mysterious with its routing scheme. Can the Helix wavefold external signals? Can it LPG external signals? Tidal Wave is kind of limited as an oscillator, but awesome as a FSU external processor and LPF. Any...

as Shledge says above, if someone is going to go to such an extreme to "blame the tools, not the carpenter", that's generally not the kind of person whose mentality I want to associate with, nonetheless spend my life energy empathizing for.

Re: existential crisis in eurorack

I have one problem with eurorack right now...its become mainstream  To me, this would be a real issue, if I was into this format to be special; if it was a part of my identity to use uncommon tools. If that was the case and I felt that eurorack was becoming mainstream, I guess I’d switch forma...

Re: Pulp Logic V-Noise??

hinterlands: even at audio rates, does it need a slew/filter in order to operate as true white noise? I find when I feed it to an S&H, I still only get either high or zero voltage. This might explain the trill phenomenon you are seeing. Yeah you'll only get high and low voltages. That's what makes ...

BIA Kick taming

I know this is a very personal thing... but it seems like I am never satisfied when I use the NE BIA as a kick drum. If I try to model an acoustic kick, it has too much fuzz. When I try to model an 808/909 style kick, it has too much low end "pew" and doesn't sit in a mix very well. What kind of mod...

Re: BKM Panels is shutting down

IIRC, some people on the MW facebook group and one or two other modular FB groups DID have a problem with the fish inscription, which I thought was very silly outrage. To me, an aesthetic choice to include subtle iconography on a product is a world away from including hateful bigoted literature with...

Re: Best Bargains in Eurorack

Sometimes people gotta get rid of their stuff and sell for cheap. I have two modules I've snagged for less than half the new price - Snazzy FX Tidal Wave and Verbos Random Sampling - that are massively powerful. NonlinearCircuits modules even pre-built are really wild, versatile, and often inexpensi...
