Re: Autechre

I'm really enjoying this twitch stream from 10-05

There's a bunch of them on youtube, I've listened to a few on and off over the last few days. This one's my favourite so far:

Re: Behringer Mono/Poly!

I've also owned a mono/poly for some time. Having justed watched the demo (on a laptop admitedly) I thought it sounded decent. I'd agree with others, the demo doesn't do it justice if this can sound like a mono/poly. It's not that the patches demoed sound bad but the mono/poly is capable of much mor...

Re: Pico drums Jungle Warfare

...or how about a small sequencer (like a 4 step Tirana) as the "offset" value feeding Rene. If you load 4 sets of samples into the PD and set the values on the Tirana right, each time you hit it with a trigger it will jump to the next set of samples. Having a small sequencer for this kind of applic...

Re: Pico drums Jungle Warfare

since you're loading one chopped break into the first 16 samples, you could load a second break into the next 16 sample slots. You've got Rene accessing the 16 slots with its output. What you need is to apply an offset to Rene's output that adds a constant CV amount. When Rene is outputing zero, you...

Re: Please, stop octave left hand playing without purpose

But...but...how do I play Blue Monday, Sweet Dreams and other 80’s classics? That’s brilliant songs! Sweet Dreams and many other 80s classics play one note at time per synth timbre (Vince Clark is my hero of that particular synth production technique). Oh contraire, about Sweet Dreams in particular...

Re: Doing more with less

Looks great, I love the trigger riot. I can see how you're doing your drums but what provides the basses and leads? The Mutant Machine? Or can you process your drum sounds in some way to generate leads? - trig riot 1 sends drum sequencing trigs - trig riot 2 sends trigs to z8k - z8k sends cv's over...

Re: Doing more with less

https://cdn.modulargrid.net/img/racks/modulargrid_505642.jpg i use this as my compact danceable music all in one setup [requires a mixer of some sort] - there's enough sound sources to do a full hour of drums [thoroughly varied from 'song' to 'song'], basslines and leads. it has enough sequencing t...

Re: 73-75 interference

Some good info on the 73-75 panels here: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=194092&start=25 The shop built panels are great value, when you add the cost of parts and time onto the DIY prices. I usually DIY but bought a pre-built voice panel for that reason. cheers. Todd's video ...

Re: 73-75 interference

Is this a shop built panel, or DIY? Shop-built. there are shop built panels for these? I thought they were all DIY. Did the original designer offer built panels, or is this a third party store building these to the published DIY specs? https://shop.73-75.com/voice doh! not sure how I missed that, c...

Re: Analog Synths with midi cc over parameters

I'm really wanting to get my hands on more analog synths that have full midi control over the buttons and dials, as well as a beautiful sound of course  What is a piece of gear you own that meets these criteria? bonus points for polyphony If you're going the MIDI route you could consider r...

Re: Doing more with less

I think all of this is absolutely tied up in mastery of what you have to hand. Maybe I'm being dumb here, but it seems obvious to me that for the same level of effort and time, more people are going to master their instruments with 5 synths at their disposal rather than 20. I agree with what you ha...

Re: Doing more with less

Limits definitely breed creativity. I don’t know. I’ve heard that being said at least 1000 times but I’ve never seen any proof. What I have seen are people who are really creative even with limited tools but those same people are always creative; they are creative with little and with and a lot in ...

Decided to give some Japan a listen - I really like this album, particularly In Vogue.
I particularly like their (more or less) live album Oil on Canvas, it's worth a try if you haven't heard it

This one's Euro, Serge and a modded 202. Making this track, I was amazed at how much millage you can get out of a single quantizer and I've just got the basic Doepfer one. I wrote some patch notes as best as I can remember below. Thanks for listening. https://soundcloud.com/beatcleaver/dead-men-dont...
