Re: Yay to Doug at SSL!!!

Update. the radio music I thought failed. Nope. I changed it to another cabinet... Plugged in a distortion module.... they all work. gremlins. but again. just to remind everyone. Doug is nothing but awesome. Just bought another module from him. Please support him. Could be a power source problem. I...

Re: Cherry Audio free software for Covid-19 hunkerers

Downloaded it a few days ago. Kudos to Cherry Audio. The basic version is a bit limited in module variety (enough for me, though) but the modules do sound pretty good, and there are already several discounts in the cherry audio store and there are plenty of modules and bundles to choose from. I don'...

Re: Yay to Doug at SSL!!!

SSL is one of my top 3 brands of MU modules. I have various of Doug's modules but wish I could afford to buy more of them. I wish the newer modules had came out earlier, when I had more space and budget.

Re: Favorite Envelope/Wah pedal

I don't have much experience with filters. I have an EHX BassBalls and a Dunlop Bass Cry Baby. I like them both, especially when I put a fuzz before the filters. The Bassballs can get real funky. I really want to get a Moog MF-101 but each day it seems less likely. I've also considered the EHX Enigm...

Re: Electro-Harmonix Pedals Over the Years

The Crash Pad is the most economical synth/drum voice that there is. I'm amazed that there aren't 100's more mentioned everywhere. It can be cymbal/noise/hat/drum/bass drum/effect/snare/etc... Well, the store is now offering free shipping and 6 interest-free payments on top of the discounts. That d...

Re: Favorite 80s rack mount digital reverb?

This might not be what you're looking for but I really like the TC Nova Reverb as an end-of-chain reverb. That's how I use it for my live performances and eurorack jams. It has stereo I/O, straightforward interface, several reverb types (Vintage Spring being my favorite), and while it's relatively mo...

It doesn't cost $500 (I don't care about your arbitrary restrictions), but I'd take my Monomachine. I haven't spent any serious time with it since I bought it (4 years ago!) and this would be the perfect time to dig into it.

Re: Favorite 80s rack mount digital reverb?

Here's a nice guide: https://www.vintagedigital.com.au/digital-reverbs/ I have only used a few 80's units. I had a Quadraverb and currently have a Midiverb II. The QV is great but I no longer have time for complex interfaces or deep editing. Most of my effects are 90s and early 00s stuff. My favorit...

Re: Has anybody got an unchanging Euro modular?

Both of my modular systems (MU and eurorack) are fixed. I started my eurorack system from mid-2011 and finished it in late-2013. I had a very clear idea of what I wanted for the first 6U (bottom rows), which was a Wiard system with a full-analog audio path. Then I spiced it up with a third row of se...

Re: Electro-Harmonix Pedals Over the Years

I shouldn't buy anything else these days, but I'm seriously considering grabbing a Clockworks and a Frequency Analyzer... maybe a CrashPad as well. I can get them new with 35%-50% off (about $110 for the Clockworks,$90 for the FA, and $80 for the Crash Pad). I want the Clockworks to control my Nord ...

Re: Case Study Poll for moog format users

I started with dotcom portable cabinet (11 spaces wide), then got another of those. Then got a 20U rack (8 spaces wide x 4 rows), but eventually replaced it with a nice custom studio cabinet 24-spaces wide x 2 rows. Currently, my two portable cabinets are on top of the large studio cabinet, and the ...

Just in case anyone's still interested in this thread, I finally pulled the trigger this week and got the 12" Remo Mondo in Adinkra finish. Expensive but totally worth it. Not a traditional or artisan djembe by any accounts, but looks and sounds lovely to me. And it weighs much less than I thought i...

I also agree about the Midiverb 2 and cheap Lexicon and Zoom units (I have an MPX-100 and RFX-1000 plus Midiverb 2 as part of m...

Re: How many "voices" do you have in your modular?

I planned for my humble 9U system to be a 2-voice machine (with at least 1 or 2 VCOs, 1 env, 1 VCF, 1 VCA, and sequencing) but I can usually squeeze a third voice out of it.

Re: Best Fixed Filter Bank?

in the patch described above, you are multing (probably via buffered mult) the output of the FB straight through to audio out as well as into the mixer to provide the feedback path yes? Yeah, you can tap the output either from the FFB output or from the mixer output. I don't think it matters too mu...

Quirky and easy to use, with no menu diving? Electrix Mo-Fx. Four simultaneous effects: distortion, tremolo/panning, flanger and delay. You can turn on or off any effect or apply them to different frequency bands. Effects can sync to clock. Delay sounds great and is fun to play with. All knobs, no L...

Re: I like my knobs...

I like big knobs (and I cannot lie), and I prefer not to sacrifice knob size for less panel width. I don't mind so-called space-wasting modules, either (e.g., dotcom Ringmod and Reverb). I'm not into combining two completely unrelated modules into a single space (e.g., said ring mod and reverb) just...

Re: Smallish full featured sequencers

This is my exact question as well, my current setup is a 104hp 4u intellijel case. I'm trying to create a minimal case geared towards live performance. My sequences don't have to be exact programmed patterns, I'm open to utilizing randomness in my setup. The sequencer module I've been considering t...

Re: 5u - the next trend?

5U's relevence to users with large hands -or desire for big knobs with adequate space to use them- grows smaller each month and year. Look at most of the new releases in 5U and be honest about how the operator utility often expressed as a reason for choice has given way to cramped panels supposedly...

I also plan to install Audiomulch, VAZ Modular and VAZ+. Both Mulch and VAZ Mod were first released in 1998 and stopped being updated years ago. The VAZ website is gone. I was running VAZ in win7 maybe 2 years ago now. LOVED IT! Got some amazing sounds out of it. The granular oscillators are great!...

So yeah, MU. Mu is a Greek letter apparently derived from an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic. Eurohack can't claim such venerable lineage. Eat it. Also, the greek letter mu is often used to represent averages, demonstrating once more the relation between 5U-format users and their love for statistics.
