Re: Favourite Delay Units

Has anyone got the newish Eventide Rose? I'm eyeballing a fourth delay pedal, and it will likely be this... I just ordered one and hope to have it in a couple days. I asked about it a few weeks ago and got this response: Anyone have experience with the Eventide Rose? I feel like I gotta have one. I...

Re: Bout to take the plunge...Moogerfoogers

I've owned the 103 for 8 years, and just recently got the 101 and 102 as I've wanted the original trio for a long time. I was able to get them for a decent price (slightly below $300 each). The 101 sounds amazing, just what one would expect from moog. I still have to try the 102 but I'm sure I won't...

Re: Cheap but good reverb?

These are the cheaper ones I have: Lexicon MPX-100 if you want regular reverbs that sounds good and natural. Zoom RFX-1000 if you want metallic-sounding reverbs a la 90s IDM Alesis Midiverb II if you want something you don't have to tweak at all but sounds cool TC Electronic Nova Reverb if you want ...

I certainly do but I am biased since I work for Eventide. Happy to answer any questions or direct you to any resources you may want to hear/see.
Maybe just one question.... what makes it special?

Re: Electro-Harmonix Pedals Over the Years

Any comments on ergonomics compared to other units doing divisions (from you or anyone else...)? Yeah, it's totally different. I have multiple ways to do clock division in the modular world: I have a 4ms RCD in my eurorack, I have three Ardcores with which I can implement a clock divisor (I have on...

Re: Electro-Harmonix Pedals Over the Years

What are people's experiences with the Clockworks? I'd be interested to know if the sliders have detents for the integer division points and how accurate they are at tracking to the division. I had been thinking of getting a clock divider for my small Eurorack skiff, but for about the same price I ...

Re: Favourite Delay Units

I haven't used many but... - Electrix MoFX: It does 4 simultaneous effects. The delay is really fun to play with, but then you combine it with tempo-sync'ed tremolo/panning and it goes all crazy. - Alesis Midiverb II (delay presets): I don't know what it does but whatever preset you choose, it just ...

Re: How to send mixer aux to guitar pedals and back to the mixer?

It is recommended to use a re-amp pedal (Radial Engineering makes a few, I think), but like the poster above said, I just turn down the main gain on the mixer, or in your case, the aux send level. For returning the effected signal to the mixer try using a regular channel first. If it isn't hot enoug...

Re: What are your favorire 90s rompler presets?

Anything with the ubiquitous breathy, hollow, wooden flute type sound. Cuz it was 'new' and you couldn't do it with any of your analog synths. There are a bazzillion examples but one of the better ones would be the short melodic lead in the intro to Peter Gabriel's "Wallflower". I really like the f...

Re: what is your favorite amp?

I'm a neophyte when it comes to amps, but I didn't want to start another thread asking for recommendations. I have a Fender Rumble 500 for my bass and I'm looking to buy a small practice amp for guitar (10" or 12" speaker). For basic practice, I can use the Rumble, but it has no character for guitar...

Re: Electro-Harmonix Pedals Over the Years

Excellent choices. How are they working out? I just added a second hand Micro Pog. That Crash Pad is a winner. Lots of sweet spots. With the Clockworks you will want more Crash Pads or trigger your modular voices too. Excellent choices. I haven't had the time to really mess with them, but I'm reall...

Re: Cherry Audio free software for Covid-19 hunkerers

Downloaded it a few days ago. Kudos to Cherry Audio. The basic version is a bit limited in module variety (enough for me, though) but the modules do sound pretty good, and there are already several discounts in the cherry audio store and there are plenty of modules and bundles to choose from. I don'...

SSL is one of my top 3 brands of MU modules. I have various of Doug's modules but wish I could afford to buy more of them. I wish the newer modules had came out earlier, when I had more space and budget.

Re: Favorite Envelope/Wah pedal

I don't have much experience with filters. I have an EHX BassBalls and a Dunlop Bass Cry Baby. I like them both, especially when I put a fuzz before the filters. The Bassballs can get real funky. I really want to get a Moog MF-101 but each day it seems less likely. I've also considered the EHX Enigm...

Re: Electro-Harmonix Pedals Over the Years

The Crash Pad is the most economical synth/drum voice that there is. I'm amazed that there aren't 100's more mentioned everywhere. It can be cymbal/noise/hat/drum/bass drum/effect/snare/etc... Well, the store is now offering free shipping and 6 interest-free payments on top of the discounts. That d...

Re: Favorite 80s rack mount digital reverb?

This might not be what you're looking for but I really like the TC Nova Reverb as an end-of-chain reverb. That's how I use it for my live performances and eurorack jams. It has stereo I/O, straightforward interface, several reverb types (Vintage Spring being my favorite), and while it's relatively mo...

It doesn't cost $500 (I don't care about your arbitrary restrictions), but I'd take my Monomachine. I haven't spent any serious time with it since I bought it (4 years ago!) and this would be the perfect time to dig into it.

Re: Favorite 80s rack mount digital reverb?

Here's a nice guide: https://www.vintagedigital.com.au/digital-reverbs/ I have only used a few 80's units. I had a Quadraverb and currently have a Midiverb II. The QV is great but I no longer have time for complex interfaces or deep editing. Most of my effects are 90s and early 00s stuff. My favorit...

Re: Has anybody got an unchanging Euro modular?

Both of my modular systems (MU and eurorack) are fixed. I started my eurorack system from mid-2011 and finished it in late-2013. I had a very clear idea of what I wanted for the first 6U (bottom rows), which was a Wiard system with a full-analog audio path. Then I spiced it up with a third row of se...
