I always dreamed of getting a fully blown analogue vocoder. Here is the one that is do-able. Not spending a huge amt of money in getting the expensive THAT chips.

I have been trying to use the WaveConverter.exe on Windows 7. I downloaded the SM042 Default Wavetables Files (with 1,2,3,4 sub folders) When I run the WaveConverter.exe, it crashes on the folder 4, after processing the File 4-5. Nothing is produced. So, I removed the files from 5.wav to 32.wav (in ...

I used AllPCB aluminum process, I put the silkscreen on the back so on the Aluminum side. As Raph points out, the milling was pretty rough; for what I'm doing that doesn't matter much except for the mounting holes, which look less than professional. I prefer ovals (to be able to snug things up on t...

truman_k Your build looks excellent. I don't think there's anything wrong here, just a matter of trimming it right. The Sine converter works by amping the input to the JFETs until they saturate, and simultaneously lowering the output gain as it would clip a lot. Try this first and let us know how i...

https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/31320_img_5205_1.jpg I have finished mine 2600 VCO, it sounds great, very powerful. Everything works out just fine. Except the SINE wave doesn't look like a SINE wave, it comes out just like the triangle wave. I tried to trim it using the two trimmer, SINE...

After changing the 220K (R44) to 150K, I got the range of duty cycle from 50% to 1%, which is good enough. (I have tried 100K, which reduced too much, maybe a 120K is a good choice but I don't have that on hand) :nana:

Looking at the FC VCO schematic, R44 (220k) (connected to the manual pulse width pot) should control the manual PW range - reducing the value of this resistor will increase the manual PW range. I'm interested how you get on with this ? Thanks for your suggesstion, i may give it a try, and let you k...

did anyone has problem in adjusting the duty trimmer to get a full range of pulse width? i can only achieve a certain range from 50% to 16%. I can only shift it up or down never been able to get the full range of 100-0% or even 50-0%?

is there anything mod need to be done to achieve this?

Hello all, a question from my side this time :-) Should I deliver the through hole components with the PCB ? Would you like to receive the frontpanel in the kit as well ? For the potential US customers: I have a friend in Nevada, would it be a good to send numerous units to Nevada for you to obtain...

I can't say that mine has that issue, do you have that on both slope modes? I haven't strayed from the BOM, other than the changes mentioned in the first post. Have you used those same values? I haven't calibrated mine so that it would track 1 V/Oct, so that might be a difference as well. Nice pane...

I wonder if you have the same problem, I have the HM2040 chip installed to the AM8040 that I built from AmSynths' PCB. Everything works just fine. Except that the Resonance will be very squeaky (i.e. high pitch) when turned way up. I have adjusted the V/Oct trimmer to the very end to reduce the sque...

I just finished mine and have the same problem! I also don't have full frequency range, I cannot cut the sound off. I was going to source out a TL071 tomorrow to see if that works. By the way it was also mentioned in this thread. Seems to be a common issue. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtop...

I need a SSM2040 or HM2040

I am looking for a SSM2040 chip to finish off my diy VCF module from AMSynths, but it seems that it is not available anywhere. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/userpix2/31320_ssm2040_1.jpg I found this on Utsource, only $22.15. Does this look authentic? Should I give it a try? The alternative HM204...
